DISGAEA!!!!!! I loved that game cutscenes too, but god, it was so grindy.
Nice interview! I downloaded Romance Detective already and I'll probably get Syrup later on too!   Short and free, what's not to love about her itch.io page, right?

I would have done things differently, so no, I didn't write it.  I just offered the basic setting and he ran with it.

In another stomach, far far away through Clephas's infinite bowels, two figures that looked distinctly similar to Alden and Jazid came into being.
However, no one would have mistaken them for the originals, for their eyes glowed orange, their expressions twisted with blissful glee.  Whatever their pasts, their memories, it no longer mattered... all that mattered was the one, fundamental truth they had discovered.
"Cannibalism is Love," They intoned in deeply happy voices, as one, their mouths opening wider than they should have been able to to show steel trap teeth and a long, sharp tongue covered with tiny teeth designed to tear flesh from bone.
Yet two more Clephas Cultists awaited there, in that place, for the chance to step forth and spread the beautiful truth they had discovered to the universe.

Went with something a bit different this week. Clephas has taken over, throwing the members into arenas even more messed up than before, with all kinds of mysterious dangers lurking around every corner.

I redued the number of people in this chapter to four, as I'm on vacation, and felt like spending a bit less time writing this time around. Which is also why the chapter is a day late. Still, hope you enjoyed!

I'm surprised you havn't reviewed this already. Yeah I thought it was a good yuri game and I think if you are going to handle incest (I'm not a fan) then this is probably the best way.
The one major problem I had with this game is that there are too many times when characters would just cold show up out of nowhere. It happened at least four times.

Since Shikomizue died and I'm not that narcissistic, I'm rooting for Poltroon!
I can't wait for Zaka, Fiddle, Lesiak and me to appear, what if we even appear in the same week?

    That was an interesting interview.
The one thing I really enjoyed about it was JM's description of doing audio work (esp. editing) for voice acting.
It is literally the bane of my existence, and the number one task in terms of time/resources needed. I've learned to love it, but it is far more effort than I expected it would be; especially if done well.

Hey, what a cool post!! ^.^ I hope you get more opportunities to do interviews, it was such a good read!
I agree with a lot of things that the developer said. When it comes to more obscure OELVN titles aimed for girls, when I see like 10 votes in VNDB I think "wow, a lot of people liked it, must be worth to check it out"! I do my part, but I wanted to see more feedback in VNDB honestly. And yeah, we already have enough games with chaste and innocent girls, keep being original!!
And about the game, it seems like something I could enjoy, but I'll wait for possible future chapters. I prefer to read the entire story in one go. Like you said in the review, it's very hard to rate it otherwise.
Cheers to Jackie M. too, and good luck with your VN!

Oh wow. I think I should push this game to some gender studies people on my university, they would have some fun with this kind of super-masculine/harsh gay world. I would do something about it myself if I had the time. ^^

It's not in the game per se, but in Karin's (the developer) official site. So yeah, it's an official artwork!
Hahahaha, funny you said that when I didn't even mention the best part of it: they run some brothels, but there's not a single female prostitute in them, only guys and crossdressers. Gotta love these ideas!

By "source" you mean it's a fanart of that game, or those chibis were actually in it?
Once more a great review. Also, I find the idea of randomly all-gay mafia even more amusing than an all-gay catholic boarding school. VN settings FTW!

Plk_Lesiak reacted to Clephas in The Chuuni and Chuunibyou FAQ (自称)
It isn't a unique phenomenon to Japan... it is the same type of thing you see in Trekkies, obsessive Star Wars fans, and others who imitate their favorite fictional characters to the point where they lose themselves in them.  Chuunibyou tends to start around that age, but it can last for years or decades, depending on whether the individual in question is 'functional' despite their 'weirdness'.
In Japan, it is generally portrayed as something that is outgrown by the end of middle school (which is actually usually the case in Japan, from what my friends tell me), and that is primarily because of the extreme peer pressure and sekentei obsession over there.  In the US, where kids are mostly allowed to form their own personalities to an extent at that age, it can last a lot longer and go in seriously weird directions.
Chuuni as literature isn't so much about 'coolness' as it is about theatrics.  Extreme/exaggerated personality types, overpowered characters, larger than life individuals, incredibly detailed settings... these are all elements common to chuuni fiction.  Which is probably why bibliophiles and story-addicts tend to fall for chuuni literature in droves.  The mundane rapidly gets boring for this type of person, since they are looking for 'stories', not the reality going on around them in daily life.
Chuuni can vary greatly, ranging from pure white knight heroism to dark-hearted monstrousness in its characters and settings.  The key point is that it somehow transcends the mundane... which means that what can be considered chuuni will inevitably vary based on what culture and environment you were brought up in (to be blunt, someone who was brought up in a slum full of daily gun battles probably won't see a gunfighter protagonist fighting criminals as transcending the mundane).
Chuunibyou is a function of the adolescent desire to, quite simply, do the same thing... transcend the mundane.  *shrugs*  It can be a negative, but some of the most creative people out there are of the type that experiences this 'disease' routinely.
