A few days ago @renpytom on twitter made this graph:

Commenting: "I plotted the time between Sakura _ games vs. time, and in a few weeks there will be a new Sakura game every second."

Little did he know that right after, the trend would confirm itself with the announcement of the greenlight for Sakura Beach 2 by Winged Cloud and Sekai Project! (not even gonna bother putting the source)

Since it seems like Winged Cloud and SP finally realized they didn't even need to bother to make new shit and the scenario is probably randomly generated by a monkey simulator software, we can probably expect the trend to keep going, so I thought we'd make only one thread for the future Sakura Series announcements and all the wailing about how it's all shit and SP is hitler etc etc.

The Pulltop yakuza will never hold me down. As a fan of both Cocoro@Function!, Cocoro@Function! Previous Videos: TBA

For those that are not familiar with the visual novel, feel free to check out the opening video and summary of the game below:

    Opening:

Soutarou just manages to pay his school fees by doing part-time jobs. After helping his junior Umi and skipping his shift, he was fired from his part-time job and was having problems making ends meet. Umi felt responsible for his present situation and introduced him to a part-time job at a Southern resort. With deep blue skies, clear seas and vibrant vegetation, the place looked exactly like in the travel magazines.
Moreover, he was surrounded by many girls: energetic little sister-like Sango, affectionate tennen ojousama Riho, shy and earnest Shiori, and the kind but also strict manager Nagisa. Arriving at the resort, Umi turned to him and asked him to spend the time there as her boyfriend.

Not sure how to run a Pulltop game? The yakuza is tricky, so read this:

    /topic/8991-tutorial-how-to-run-a-pulltop-game">http://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/8991-tutorial-how-to-run-a-pulltop-game

As with the rest of my video streams, I plan to record each session and work on uploading the videos to a place where everyone will be able to view them at a later time. I will update this thread when those videos become available.

With that, I look forward to seeing you around. Keep an eye out for more details as I progress, and enjoy watching!

Pretty much what mjriedstra said above.
Tops my list of why Chris' route ended up being my least favorite in the game. The whole thing kinda comes out of nowhere, seems out of character, and really takes you out of it.

Then again, it is a Chinese powerpoint game. I don't know why I was surprised it had its share of h-logic™.

I discussed this exact topic a couple of days ago in the A-1 translation thread. It's a bizarre example of a ludicrously unlikely nukige scene being snuck into the middle of what is otherwise a story-based, character-based game. As such, it's really jarring in my opinion. Even outside of the obvious illegalities, the way every character in the story (including Chris) acts as if it's pretty normal afterward is mind boggling, and not really in keeping with the tone of any other aspect of the game or the other routes. Almost all of the stories center around friendship, close bonds, and protecting those important to you, and this goes completely counter to those principles.

I like Yamato, who I think is generally a lot more interesting than most protagonists, but in order to maintain that mentality I've had to pretty much pretend that scene doesn't exist.

nohman reacted to Down in Japanese government asks universities to close social science and humanities departments
Well yeah, that seems to be what the Japanese government's reasoning: they want to form technically able people that will make money and be useful to their nation, while ridding them of such encumbering things as the ability to think or understand how politics, societies and human beings work.

I personally loathe the idea of reducing education to 'what is useful for the work market'. Your future job is not the end goal of your life. The goal of education is to make you a decent and cultivated human being, able to think by himself.

I highly doubt Japan is THAT much in a dire need of money, these departments don't cost nearly as much as scientific departments and their costly equipment. The real reason is probably that Japan is trying to get themselves back an army and are pouring more budget into that instead.

And let's get the Godwin point done with: repressing social sciences and humanities while reinforcing the army is one of the recurrent symptoms of a nascent totalitarian state.

Oh, and one thing I'm really not happy about is P2P Windows Updates. No, I don't want to sacrifice my bandwidth so Microsoft can save some money.

WiFi Auto-Sharing ("Sense") is another really weird feature and something I would never feels well knowing it's turned on.

    Summary
In face of human technological advancement during the Meiji Restoration, the youkai of Japan were forced to make a hard decision:
    1) To remain as youkai and watch over the land
    2) To return to the netherworld
    3) To give up their power and status as youkai and live amongst humans.

While there were some that chose otherwise, the majority of the youkai decided it was best to become human. It was tough, but as time passed these youkai were able to blend in with the human world and live peacefully amongst them.

However, blood is thicker than water. The offspring of these youkai displayed the powerful abilities of their ancestors in times of great anxiety, often manifesting in horrible and dangerous ways, and were labeled by society as monsters.
Officially their condition was named "Acquired Systemic Special Heredity variety Syndrome", or "ASSHS" for short and treated as a non-contagious illness, but the common people began to refer to them as Jinyous (half-youkai) nevertheless.

Of these Jinyous, most were sent to Kamizawa City: an isolated urban area walled off from the rest of Japan to keep all the Jinyous together and away from the human population. However, the ones that were deemed especially dangerous were sent to a medical facility on an uncharted island near the shores of Japan where they would be under constant surveillance.

Takabe Ryouichi was one of those who were sent to said island at the age of five. This is a story about him along with the girl called Suzu, his only friend on the island, escaping to Kamizawa city to live a normal life. What they didn’t expect was that Suzu carried a secret that attracted much unwanted attention…

Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order
Recommended route order: Touko -> Tonya -> Kaoru -> Suzu
Note that finishing all endings won't get give you 100% CG.
If you want all CG you have to play the Tonya Route again and choose the other options at the end:
I think it's fine if it's just a while Eat Suzu's lunch box first Call Suzu All routes have to be completed before choices that lead to Suzu Kisaragi's route are unlocked.

    Route Guideline

    Touko Ichinotani
    End 1
    End 2
    Bad End

    Tonya (Antonina Antonovna Nikitina)
    End

    Kaoru Iizuka
    End

    Suzu Kisaragi
    End 1
    End 2
    End 3

    My preferred method is digital.
I'm not much of a collector anymore; my personality's a little too obsessive for that. In the past when I collected films and comic books, I'd often get too side tracked from focusing on filling in the gaps in my collection that it hurt my enjoyment of the stuff I bought. Since I'm not really into collecting VNs or just having a box + leaflet that I'd never otherwise look at but a couple of times laying around, digital is the most convenient choice - nearly immediately available and you don't have to leave the house or wait for shipping.

As for dvd for usb, which is the cheaper delivery method production side anyway?

I'd take the USB storage... If they put it in big boxes like the DVD cases, because OTHERWISE IT WON'T ALIGN WELL WITH THE REST ON MY SHELVES AND THAT TRIGGERS MY AUTISM FGJNFVMJNELRGJNOZNEDFZK,EPF§§§§§§§§§§§§
