editing that gif is a pain in the butt because you can't see her whole head so it's a painful process to add a hat that looks good, specially with the double ponytail I cannot make it look good. If you find a better gif where you can see more of her head I will do it for you.

You weren't here during the Era of Steve, that guy is (was) the #1 hoshimemo loli protector hero and truth and justice around these parts.

Anyway, all I can say about HoshiMemo is that Komomo is like one of the top tsunderes in the hallmark of VN tsundere heroines. Hands down. By far. HNGGGG

If there was a change I could make, it would be to have Chinami say Onii-chan more often.
 

like the prov says "misery loves company"  even Japanese people struggle with the language so keep it up and don't give up.

for those who are learning japanese and sometimes feel discouraged (myself included)because you cannot remember all those damn kanji, specially write them.

Mmmmm, let's see.. top 5 of 2015 alright ^^
5 - Kekkai Sensen : I enjoyed this one, had a good setting, good characters, outstanding music among some things so to me it deserves a spot (also good humor at times)
4 - Monster Munsume : Had a blast watching this one for it's sheer humor and likeable characters (except a few), i like the fact that this show knows what it is and does it awesomely
3 - Charlotte : I had high expectations seeing who the creator of this one is and it didn't dissapoint me (although i do admit that i expected a bit more) i loved the characters (Nao Tomori <3)  once again it's a show with good humor, great animation and it's fun when it has to be and a bit dramatic when it has to aswell
2 - Noragami Aragoto : Yes, this one isn't finished yet but I already love the shit out of it as i did with the previous one..i keep on wanting more and more...love it's aestethic and story with also a fondness for it's characters which are for the most part great..overall awesome
1 - Shokugeki no Soma : Where to even start with this one..when i started watching it i had no idea what it was gonna be like and had my doubts about watching it since i've never been much into cooking animes but this one pulled me in with it's Humor and "plot" as well as it's plot (xD) again like with the previous ones i loved the characters (Nikumi and Alice <3), it was great fun and with great animation but it made me hungry watching it some times , lol
Well those are my top 5, i've watched more but i wouldn't put them on a top 5, could however fit them on a top 10 if i was to make one ^^

watch the anime first, as far as I know, this is more of the same basically, its a supplement to the anime and not like in other cases where its an adaptation

Of course. Katawa Shoujo is not a perfect game, but it is a labour of love for sure. The story is engaging, has an okay protagonist (depends on the route I guess), the art is adorable and the music... A+
The best thing about KS for me personally were the H-scenes. They are very respectful towards the girls, which (in my experience) is a rarity for an eroge, even though it's an OELVN.
As far as OELVN's go, it's probably still the golden standard, along with Dysfunctional Systems and the like.

They say there's no such thing as bad PR. I don't completely subscribe to that but sometimes if something gets panned really hard it has the affect of people wanting to read it just to see how bad it really is. Heck, I may get Sakura Santa just for that purpose. I'll probably buy it from Mangagamer if I do, so I'd probably get a Steam key for it. But if I give away the Steam key, I can't collect the cards...

Dont worry about sounding "nooby" though. People love helping out here. Besides, I´m kind of a noob myself. 

There are a lot of these actually, they're referred to as "otome" games and are usually sappy romance titles aimed at teenage girls. There are only a few games with female protagonists that can be said to have cross-genre appeal. Many of the games in Liarsoft's Steampunk series are in this category, such as Shikkoku no Sharnoth and the upcoming Gahkthun, coming out in just a couple days.

I quite agree, I've only tried one of them (I think it was swim club) and it was definately not my kind of thing nor what i could consider a good Vn but i won't bash it...just isn't my type of thing...i'm sure people out there enjoy Sakura games...right? some people do anyways haha.

How about something like Rewrite or Ever17? 
They have somewhat light-hearted and fun common routes and then all the action and drama start happening and it blows you away.
That said, they are long very long and time consuming so it is a big commitment if you are going to be playing through these games. But if you can persevere through all the slice of life, then you are rewarded for all your troubles. 

Ah yes, its sunrider I'm talking about. I forgot to mention it in the original post, but it has a steam version as well thats patchable. The denpasoft version is completely uncut and it also gives a steam key when you purchase it.
The steam version needs to be patched, guide on how to do that is on the community hub for the game.

I`m totally ship those two. And for the game well its really so-so(And the sequel/spin off are still very so-so) but nevertheless i enjoyed it.

Sadly, not free. Its 30 dollars on their page, and that gives you the game + a steam key. You can alternatively buy the game on steam, and then apply a patch to it to get the same HCG etc restored.

Well it seems the usual enthusiasm to give people reccomendations isnt quite there right now.
 
Anyways, I figured I would give you a couple more reccomendations. Just pulling the more unsusual reads out of my VNDB, so not too much to choose from, but hey, its something:

sunrider academy - This has pretty good humor, though its a little different, its a dating sim with some gameplay. Fun heroines, though it lacks voice acting. Its a bit unique, but very entertaining. Available at denpasofts' homepage.
kono oozora ni tsubasa o hirogete - Ok, not exactly an unkown novel, but I didnt see it on your list, and this is one of my favorite titles, so if you haven't read it, I would reccomend giving it a go. Available on steam, then apply the various patches to restore H-CG etc.

Yosuga no Sora - Once again, not an incredible title, though I honestly enjoyed this one. Its a fairly standard eroge, but with a slight twist: incest. Another "different" genre. (Its a pretty good novel in my opinion, especially the Sora route, which is the incest route. Sora is a very likeable character. Tsundere, twintails, cares a lot for the MC.) only 2/5 routes are translated though, so only 1 that isnt the incest route.
Katahane - Slightly older novel. Kind of strange art due to the age and due to tarte liking that sort of artstyle. It has great comedy, a good mix of slice of life and dramatic story. Its a bit unique, and reads rather slow at the start, though towards the mid / end its very much worth it. Also offers yuri, though the focus is on love and story, not so much fanservice.
 

Its decent but somehow i really love it(first game that i bought from steam), and yeah some voice are terrible but i will say Mu xin's voice is very cute though and it really suit her. She is one of my fav.
and some tips, dont do all endings just get the best endings. 

Kaede best girl! I love yanderes. Too bad she didnt go full yandere mode in the visual novel.
 Princess Evangile W Happiness needs to be translated so people would know why Mitsuki is the best girl of that series.

Not many pure yuri VN's besides the Sono Hanabira series are translated. Those that have yuri usually have it along with a normal H-scene. Lilium x Triangle was recently translated so try that, it's short but it's pure yuri.
