Some animes that meet your requirements after checking my MAL:
F/SN Unlimited Blade Works - It's not too long, enjoyable to watch with amazing animation and a happy ending that feels pretty well closed. I haven't read the VN though, so I can't compare it to the original story.
Gosick - Amazing mistery story that connects its arcs very well, with likeable characters and, again, a closed happy ending.
Nagi no Asukara - A lot of slice of life and romance, so the story has a lot of ups and downs, but it ends well.
Hanasaku Iroha - Slice of life again. The ending is not AS closed compared to the other recommendations, but it is happy.
The one I'd probably recommend the most is Gosick. It's enjoyable all the way through and it left me with a nice feeling of completion; I wouldn't ask for more episodes.

Ehh, in my opinion SAO is only justifiable if you draw the line at just the Aincrad arc (not even a full season). The ending for season one was not gratifying at all, to me, to such an extent that I'm not even watching season two - I can see the way the wind's blowing. But maybe I'm just salty because the second half of season one made me a Suguha fan, despite her hopeless situation, and the ending did absolutely nothing to alleviate that despair.

Dammit your taste is sounding more and more like mine. SAO went downhill after the 1st half of season 1. Season two was mostly crap. It hurts because that first half of S1 was truly awesome.

Story summary:
The story is set in Neo Tokyo. A battle called the Tournament Wars or TW takes place. The main character is a summoned spirit Arthur Pendragon. His master, Morgana, is the main heroine. The VN is focused on their romance and Arthurs past. There are also battle scenes and interesting side characters.

This thread is pretty pointless. Fan translators won't translate a visual novel that somebody else wants them to and will want to translate something they themselves would like to. Translating something the translator doesn't like will end up in slower progress and probably a weaker translation.

I'm trying to collate a list of anime series with those sort of ultimately satisfying endings that make you happy to have watched a series right through to the end, and the ending is complete enough that you know that a sequel isn't necessary to feel fulfilled. I'm only interested in shows with HAPPY endings, not kinda positive sombre ones, and no unresolved freaking harems. I want the sort of endings that make you feel a little depressed that the show is over but happy with the conclusion. The shows themselves don't even need to be awesome, but to have a very good ending which makes it better overall. More marks if they brought tears (of joy) to your eyes. Now I realise that people's opinions on what constitutes a satisfying ending will be vastly different from person to person and that's okay, but if you wish to debate the reasons something may not be ultimately satisfying, please put it in spoiler tags. Successful romance is a big plus but not essential. I don't remotely claim to have watched all anime ever so one of my main reasons for doing this is to find other shows to watch - since my bias is towards romances there's likely a lot of action shows I'm missing here.

Heyyo, I'm currently writing a story in an effort to develop my writing skills as well as for my own enjoyment. Thinking back, I posted one of my very first story/ideas on  this forum a few years ago. I still don't consider myself that great of a writer but would love it if any of you would to take the time to read the prologue and tell me what you think about it(feedback). If you see any cliches please point them out.
Genre: Pyschological, Horror, Adventure, Action
Synopsis: The time is 2045, with the introduction of many Homeless Prevention Centers or "HPCs",  the United States is now on its way to becoming one of the cleanest places on the face of the planet making way for advancements in education as well as large technological advancements in cities that no longer had the homeless. Kai is a  16 year old troubled high school student with a habit of needing to have everything  under his control. How will he react when the daily aspects of life he took for naught vanish  leaving him  in  a foreign  world in which he has no power?
There will be two  prologues before the initial first chapters as to introduce the main characters that will be focused on.

While that's true maybe now MG can move on to better things instead of the Sakura shit show that's been going on also hopefully Winged cloud will realize the error of their ways....and hahaha...as if that were to ever happen

As many of you may be aware, I collect a lot of Japanese goods. Originally this began with me collecting smaller items, which actually started when I was initially playing visual novels, but over time I eventually expanded my horizons into figurine collecting. This in turn led to wanting even more items in my repertoire, thus leading to very expensive character good purchases among other things.
Now, let me start by saying that figurine collecting (regardless of if you do it in Japan or outside of the country) is expensive. Any hobby can be expensive. The main thing to remember here though is how well you understand appropriate values. Let's be honest, ordering from AmiAmi or buying figurines from Sofmap doesn't always mean you're going to get the best deal. In a way, figurines are a lot like stocks - market fluctuation, demand of a certain character, and the rarity of said character will vary drastically depending on a lot of different factors. These factors can include, but are not limited to:
Seller of the Figurine - As a general rule of thumb (and to avoid any sort of racism with this remark), the continent where sellers originate from are a great way to give you a ballpark estimate on prices for figurines. Generally speaking, sellers who use the Euro as their pricing method originate from Europe and will generally charge the full amount in yen converted on a 1:1 cost basis (i.e. = 10,000 yen -> 100 euro), whereas Asian sellers not originating from Japan (China, Indonesia) charge a lot less (sometimes as much as 80% off the principal amount). Discounts - If you see a discount on a figurine from AmiAmi or another site, I can guarantee you that the price is the same in Japan. After comparing prices of initial figurine launches in Akihbara to prices on leading websites, I started to realize that the discounts mean nothing. Since most figurines will always remain at those discount amounts (and slowly become lower depending on how rare the print of the figurine is), they essentially mean nothing in the long run. Companies only attract you with discount prices because they want people to purchase their items. In reality, you really aren't saving any money. Keep in mind though that this only pertains to new releases, since overtime prices will change depending on the figure. Rarity - It goes without saying that the rarity of a figurine affects its price. If a figurine is in high demand and sells out quickly, you can expect reprints on occasions (generally very common with Nendoroids/figma purchases), but not always. If a reprint is not being made, you can expect a jump in figurine prices by more than 200%! It's a little bit ridiculous, but can make your purchase that much better in the long run if you decide to sell somewhere down the line. Company - Of course a company's quality determines the price of a figurine and how much PVC from them costs. As with stocks, it generally helps to use an index when comparing figurines from multiple companies. Good Smile Company is a group which has the most subsidiaries and is a great comparison tool for a lot of other companies out there, but it isn't the best company for your specific needs. In other words, GSC is sort of the "middle" ground when it comes to comparing prices. Ques-Q and Broccoli (anime/visual novel figurines) charge an arm and a leg for a 1/8 scale, but also are the best group when it comes to comparing high end prices. Because the quality is not as great from these companies, you can use them to gauge what a good price is for what you think is appropriate for a 1/8 scale. Since most figurines are scaled at 1/8, it's a good comparative tool. Now normally a lot of buyers assume the prices based on where you live is a fair price, but what a lot of them fail to realize is the exchange rate of a 1:1 ratio and the shipping cost of the figurine outside the continent. 100 euro is a lot more than 10,000 yen, and that isn't even including the shipping cost. On the contrary, Chinese sellers are almost 100% of the time bootleggers, meaning research is extremely important when it comes to looking up the price of a Japanese figurine. In fact, it's honestly important for any Japanese otaku purchase. At the end of the day, knowing what an item is priced at can help you find the best deal. It's important to consider a lot of things when it comes to figurine purchases, more so otaku purchases. Like investments in a retirement plan, being knowledgeable and knowing when its appropriate to ask questions is helpful.

I've been reading things on fuwanovel for some time, and i decided to create this topic to talk about one fact i know other people are wondering about.
Despite many games being released in "uncensored" state by some editors, seeing how badly some parts behind the mosaics looked, the idea emerged that they were redrawn by some companies licensing the games instead of being the original uncensored pictures (despite the western editors claims).
For some games in particular, it looks especially bad whereas it looked ok on some other ones. I noticed that this things happened on a lot of games released by the editor Mangagamer.
I know that one member of this forum (named Cryingwestern) who has done some work for mangagamer on titles like himawari and tokyo babel, has himself stated that the company was actually not using uncensored assets from the japanese developpers. They were redrawing everything themselves instead. It was on the G-Senjou no Maou: Fan TL vs Sekai TL topic.
To quote some of the statements he made:
Regarding these informations, it could that the cg in "uncensored" state are actually not existing anyway.
If it is true, it is misleading the people expecting to play the "uncensored" games (the word implies it is the original artwork in untouched state). Because this process is just a modification of the state of the cg. The companies should not say they provide the uncensored cg but at least use the term decensored instead.
