  1. After that the individual routes start, because all that stuff happens to side characters.
  2. Getting a job that pays well. Also, i plan on reading Muramasa if no translation is announced by the end of the year, so that might be my VN-related event to start the decade.
  3. Doesn't even matter if it's that great or not, all that matters is that is the most obscure title that you can think of that would be interesting to see translated. For me it's this otome called Getsuei no Kusari. It doesn't have amazing VNDB ratings and it's probably never gonna be translated due to it not having a pc version, but from that i saw on reviews it's a very depressing game where you can turn the protagonist into a yandere at the end of the routes.
  4. Just something that i thought about and wanted to see others' opinions. For fun, i'm making a version including and excluding visual novels. Top 5 (including VNs): 5) Wonderful Everyday 4) Planescape Torment 3) Higurashi When They Cry (both parts) 2) The House in Fata Morgana 1) Umineko When They Cry (both parts) Top 5 (excluding VNs): 5) Shin Megami Tensei 3 4) Fallout New Vegas (+ DLCs) 3) Persona 2 (both parts) 2) The Last of Us 1) Planescape Torment
  5. Nice to see there is a big chance all volumes will be translated. All in all, the E2 gaming TaiAli translation joins the Flyable Heart fantranslation as something that should only be replicated as a trolling easter egg.
  6. I guess moege enthusiasts liked Nursery Rhyme, but that VN is definitely more famous for the op song that became a meme in the mid to late 2000's. Listening to that and thinking it was good in my pre-teen mind was one of my earliest memories from when my interest in VNs began.
  7. Katawa Shoujo has an implied autistic heroine, but it's up for interpretation.
  8. Finished and thought it was good, but not great. For me, me plot wasn't as interesting as Koichoco but the characters did such a good job at carrying the story that it ended up making the whole package far better than Koichoco. Also, too bad the company folded, because there was potential to make the franchise go full MajiKoi with the amount of likeable side heroines. Overall, if i consider Aokana a moege it's the best one i've ever seen, so i understand the high VNDB ratings even though i don't think it's that much of a classic. Ranking down heroines: Misaki>Mashiro>Rika>Asuka Ranking down routes: Misaki>Asuka>Rika>Mashiro
  9. Lol, try being a fighting game fan where lore discussion is pretty hard to come by. Better yet, try being a wrestling fan where you have to do some serious filtering to get any positive discussion. Being a VN fan offers a lot of variety in comparison.
  10. After finishing it, i'm willing to call it a "near-classic" because the plot, characters and atmosphere are really well done. However, there are a few things that put the VN fairly below Cross Channel for me: i thought the solution to the mystery was a little too simple for all the slow build that it had (a newer VN called SeaBed had that same problem); also, i didn't really like the tips/links system, i thought it lacked the subtlety that Remember11 had and the fun functionality that 428 had.
  11. Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning? I think this is the blonde in question.
  12. As someone who thought Tokyo Babel was good but not great, my biggest complaint is that the prologue had this amazing atmosphere leading up to the fight while the rest of the VN just felt like regular chuunige stuff.
  13. Thanks for lowering my expectations. MajiKoi is one of my favorite VNs because every character was memorable and got a decent amount of screentime (before the roster got bloated in S), so the other reviews saying Tsuyokiss is even better would overhype me. After finishing it, i respect how it kinda tried to deconstruct moege (in the sense that you wouldn't predict the heroines' personalities based on how they look on a cover), but a lot of the routes just slowed down to a crawl after the confession. The characters and humor (that is up my alley) make it a "good, but not great" VN for me.
  14. I thought you hated Swan Song? Pretty sure i read that in your Carnival review. Then again, you hated Sayooshi and still put as masterpiece of the month.
  15. I wonder if decades from now, someone will analyse VN localization companies and discover a cycle of "fantranslation scene thrives-localization companies get daring enough to invest in VNs-said companies give up because of low sales-fantranslation scene thrives again".
  16. Hopefully we don't get another "prejudice against rock" storyline, because those are seriously outdated by this point.
  17. Kind of a shame that you went with the Touka-Tonya-Kaoru route order that some reviews recommended for your first time, because i think Tonya-Kaoru-Touka built up the antagonists better and i still scratch my head at the one review that recommended Touka first, because that kills most of the tension in the VN IMO.
  18. About Ayakashibito, are you playing the original PC version or are you gonna try to emulate the PS2 version for the extra route?
  19. Recommending this as a wake up alarm as something to wake you right the fuck up (right at the starting point of the link so that you almost have a heart attack as well).
  20. It's not really a nukige, but doesn't Sisterly Bliss has a lot H-Scenes as well?

I liked it a little more than you did, but i have to agree that the people that made this VN had no idea who to market it for. It kinda fails as a action spy story because the yurige scenes fuck up the pacing and it kinda fails as a yurige because most of the H-scenes are between men and women. Fortunately for me, the way the relationship between the two main girls developed and the ramifications of a certain death in the story were enough for me to consider it a pretty good VN.
  22. Played it and overall, i didn't like it as much as you did. I probably would've liked a more down to earth story, but i can definitely appreciate the direction taken (the last few hours of the VN are pretty much impossible to predict, regardless of route). My biggest complaint is that the routes felt too uneven, with Henri feeling like a bad end, Fuuko feeling like a normal end and Komaki feeling like a good end. This probably should've been in enforced route order.
  23. There is one, but the mc never finds out she's a yandere. Because of the core of the story, there aren't any 100% happy endings.
  24. https://vndb.org/v18315. The yandere in this one doesn't exactly have a route, but she has so many endings she might as well be an "almost main heroine".
