I've been waiting for a translation of this ever since I started reading VNs four years ago, haha. Fingers crossed you can finish translating the entirety of this cursed thing. It is very admirable that you're willing to do everything yourself, but don't hesitate to enlist the help of a few others if need be. Another proofreader or two never hurts, at the very least.
    Thank you, and good luck!

Here's his VNDB profile. Once again, you might want to fix this, @Silvz. You need to change "ID 70429" to "70429".
Also, keep in mind it's not up-to-date, as he previously stated. It should give a rough idea on most of what he's read so far, though.

Mahoutsukai no Yoru / Witch on the Holy Night

    System Requirements:
    OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
CPU: Pentinum4 over 1GHz (recommended some CPU around 2.66GHz)
    RAM: More than 1GB
    HDD: 5GB
Resolution: 1024×576 pixels or higher screen
Optical drive: DVD-ROM drive that supports dual-layer
    DirectX 9.0
First, I'd like to apologize for the long wait, and your patience was rewarded, with perhaps a much steadier stream of updating from now on [hopefullly!].
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    PROGRESS:
    Chapters 1 to 6 - translation complete
Chapters 1 to 1.5 - patched and ready to go
    GAME INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Remember to change System Locale in the Region settings to Japanese.
PATCH INSTALLATION: MAHOYO patch + Aolight font download

FONT AOLIGHT IS REQUIRED ALONGSIDE THE PATCH (PLEASE INSTALL INTO PC BEFORE RUNNING THE GAME)
Aolight is a modified version of Aozora Mincho Regular. I tweaked it so that the text could be properly displayed in the game, because the space for each letter in-game is displayed inside an invisible rectangle that cuts off the letters when they're italicized and need more spacing in their letter display. Make sure you have it selected at the game's Change Font menu. The wordwrap is tailored specifically to this font and anything else besides this will not work.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In all of these fan attempts, one fan patch, and Commie's silence on their entire Mahoyo project........here's my attempt, with the objective being: to finish it!
A modern-day teen witch becomes friends with an old-fashioned teen witch, and meets a boy hailing from the incredibly rural mountainside. And with that, the magic begins.

...Polishing it to a nice sheen with respects to its own gem of just your typical slice of life shoujo with a heaping whopper of magic thrown in so dazzling we have to stop and admire the assembly of a spectacular lightshow presented in visual novel format. Thanks Kirikiri! *heaves, out of breath*
In all seriousness: I have always loved this linear yet beautiful visual novel, so happened to be published by the company that released Tsukihime and the more renowned Fate/stay Night. It was a surprise to see that for once, this was for all ages. Not only is it pretty in visual terms (and I mean the art has improved), but the music is just fluid and breath-taking when accompanying the story. Props to Hideki Fukasawa, it's like the VN was made for his music. Or is it the other way around??
Let it not be said that creator and co-founder of Type Moon, Kinoko Nasu, doesn't drop a few ero jokes regarding Mahoyo. Maybe at some point, I'll share his comments going through the script files, cause it can get laugh out loud funny what he inserts for every semicolon.

Fur-lined, weather-beaten jacket screams "I work hard for a living" contrasting with the friendly goatee and vintage reading glasses that shout "I'm a tech support expert, how can I help you today?". Turtleneck sweater underneath the jacket for that Bear Grylls "I'm literally prepared to leave this concrete jungle and survive in the real woods at any time" rough and tumble feel. Slight smile that says "I want to kill myself, but don't really feel like it tbh". Somewhat unkempt but fitting hair that says "I care about my hair enough to not look like a fool, but I'm not metrosexual". Finally, the Apple earbuds show that despite all of this, you are modern and forward-thinking.
    9/10.

URV got a reaction from ittaku in ONE VN you should read before you die.
Every answer to this kind of question is likely going to be subjective. Some of them may be the right answer of you. Some may not. The safest choice and the closest you'll get to the answer you're looking for is probably one of the various classics out there (some of which have already been mentioned before), as they are considered by most to be the best visual novels out there.
Personally, I would mainly vouch for Fate/stay night, Steins;Gate or G-Senjou no Maou, somewhat in that order. Fate/stay night happened to be my first VN, one that I went through while being in just the right psychological state, and I likely would have not enjoyed it nearly as much if I read it for the first time today—hence why it is an awfully subjective answer.
In the end though, you're the only one who can really answer your own question. Try out one of the most recommended VNs in this thread that you think might appeal to you the most, don't raise your expectations too high, and report back if you think you found it!
Edit: Just realized you aren't exactly looking for a recommendation here, but I guess my answer still counts, haha.

URV got a reaction from Kenshin_sama in Immediately Satisfying Anime (for teens)
Two titles I would definitely recommend to people new to anime are Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu and Boku dake ga Inai Machi. I believe they lack the various factors that might discourage newcomers from watching any more anime, and might also be appealing to people more used to western movies and TV shows. I would also throw in Kokoro Connect and Hyouka for good measure, though it's been a while and do not recall how strong they start off or maintain the pace—and do note that these two also have a fair amount of Slice of Life, which can get a bit boring for some.
Another thing that might be in favour of Rakugo would be that it is a Josei anime, meaning that it is aimed at women in their late teens on into adulthood (though as a man, I have to say it is one of my favourite anime overall, so the target audience shouldn't necessarily be taken to heart). I'm not sure how young your sister is or what she's like, but I believe that she might enjoy it better due to that. Another Josei anime I would definitely recommend is Sakamichi no Apollon, though I think it has much slower pacing than Rakugo. Alternatively, for even younger women (Shoujo anime), I recall I found Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun fairly enjoyable.
Additionally, you could always consider showing her some movies such as Kimi no Na wa or Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo.

Shikkoku no Sharnoth is a liar-soft game, in their usual steam-punk world. It was one of their better games, though I liked Inganock more.
Forrest, isn't really played for the story. The story isn't bad, but that's not what makes it unique. The art style and method of storytelling are very different from most traditional VN's.The experience, is unique to say the least. Its also very easy to get a bad ending. This one is more fun without a walkthrough.
You have played a lot of VN's, but nothing by liar soft as of yet.  They have a very unique style of writing, and the prose is repetitive, in ways that some may not enjoy. Further, a lot of people don't enjoy the whole, steam-punk type fantasy setting.
Forrest is an interesting experience that I think every VN enthusiast should experience.
I would probably go for Forest as your next VN
I would also try at least one Liar-soft game at some point to try it. If you do, Sekien no Inganock is one I enjoyed more. All liar soft games, are somewhat similar in style. (Except maybe cannonball)

Used a program called rainmeter, it is a program mostly for changing your desktop, set my desktop pic to that one, and installed a premade theme to my rainmeter, you can make some really cool shit with it.
This one is an example of what you can do with it, do keep in mind that effects like the stars falling and the sound bars might have a impact on your computer's performance. With that theme my rainmeter was using 6% of my cpu, with my current one it uses not even 1%.

When I opened Fuwanovel sometime after Tay's "scientific" experiment I happened to notice something was off. After extensive research I came to the conclusion a couple of posts are missing. This is clearly a problem with the site and I am, therefore, making a thread in the section of the forum dedicated to "Reporting Site Problems".
I have, however, another problem. Tay has yet to make his typical thread telling all Fuwans to panic and riot, and this is rather alarming. Without Tay's thread I feel completely lost and terrified. It's horrible. I'm about to panic here.
I sincerely ask that a thread be made post-haste indicating who we should blame (clearly Nosebleed*), why, how, where, when, and teaching us how to panic and riot properly.
That is all. Fixing the rollback is entirely optional.

*Nosebleed has claimed he isn't to blame. While this is clearly suspect, an addendum shall be added as a show of good faith. This is said addendum.
