And yes i like Nukige, It do their job whenever i read it. And believe it or not some nukige have those little stories that i actually enjoy. I actually think they add a good development to a characters relationship and can sometimes actually be pretty cute. However h-scenes can get bad, and when they get bad they get really awkward. They are most certainly aren't the main reason why I read most VN's but usually if there is a 18+ version of the game I'll pick it up over the all-ages versions. I am still a hot blooded male after all I can certainly see the appeal to a thing like nukige though, h-scenes can be very different when you have emotional attachments to the character and I think that is a really good part about eroge. I don't think it's that weird to be drawn to eroge just for the h-scenes based on that appeal and I would be lying if I said I haven't done it before. Still it's not the main reason I read eroge because I would like a good story over lots of h any day. If there is any eroge would recommend it would be Kamidori Alchemy Meister (which is really long but has lots of h and the gameplay is great) and VN's like If my heart had wings and G-senjou no maou for their good romance and plot. Deep Blue Posted January 18, 2015 Share Posted January 18, 2015 I really don't like eroge in vns...most of the time is there just to please the reader(fanservice), it doesn't add a single thing to the plot and most of the time it even ruins it(I'm looking at you grisaia in michiru's path, the first thing you do after michiru is out of the grave is fuck with her...she was trapped for 3 days, shitting herself, nothing to drink or eat, she didn't move for 3 wholes days!!!!!! and the first thing she does is fuck with the main character? LMAO., I like it when it adds something to the plot but this is just very very rare to find (Ef is one of those very few exceptions or even saya no uta) EDIT; Well, the title now is different, about nukige,if we are talking about nukige in the sense of a vn that focus only in eroge scenes...i dont really mind, is not my type of vn but I understand why is there and why people really like this types of vns, I dont like it because there is no plot or anything most of the time, is like reading hentai and again that's not my thing but to each his own. Only SonoHana series is really good (and those are probably my favorite nukiges even to this day). My opinion about nukiges significantly changed after I started reading untranslated titles. I picked a few of those at the beginning, because they are easy to read, and I bumped into plenty of actually interesting titles that exceeded my expectations by far. From relatively normal titles (https://vndb.org/v2104, https://vndb.org/v10658), up to stuff that's everything but normal (https://vndb.org/v4766, https://vndb.org/v4866, https://vndb.org/v12678, https://vndb.org/v10636). All of those had basic, but sufficient stories and characterization that made all those H-scenes much more interesting. The gap in general enjoyability between those titles and stuff available in English is quite enormous - I actually liked quite many nukiges that I have read in JP, while I couldn't even bring myself to finish half of the translated stuff that I tried (and they are short...). But I generally prefer titles with high sexual content that are NOT nukiges. Those obviously have better storylines and characterization, and usually have higher overall quality. Thanks to that, they often beat completely ero-oriented titles not only in the plot department (that's obvious), but also in H-department (higher quality makes up for lower quantity). Some of my favorites among such eroge would be https://vndb.org/v13987 (that is also my favorite VN/RPG hybrid), https://vndb.org/v11999, https://vndb.org/v3977. And also https://vndb.org/v4767 but only for the story and presentation - even though it's 80% sex, I wouldn't classify it as porn at all. Others might get the wrong idea though... Or not. Anyway, the only nukiges I've played are those translated by MangaGamer, since they're the easiest to obtain. Of course, if you were to obtain this by pirating, we will not be able to help you. Nukiges are usually just there when you want to fap or something but not go through a ton of common route text. Yeah, they're basically good for those times. To read a nukige with seriousness is just... uh. I understand reading it to look at its ero quality, but I wouldn't read it like it was something that I could actually devote myself to. There are also unexpectedly good ones in that certain genre. But of course, you'll be needing good karma to find them in the pit of nukiges. And maybe a little knowledge in JAP as well. In conclusion, I don't hate nukiges. I like them. Sometimes. I personally think something has to be at the level where the story is obviously just an excuse to have hscenes to be classified as Nukige. I usually tend to go for very weird titles, either dark stuff to just see how messed up and ridiculous it can be, or the weird but light-hearted just for the h-scenes themselves... those are pretty hard to find though. Usually I only end up liking only very few h-scenes from the nukige itself anyway, where they manage to hit some very specific spots, but yeah - always just a part of it. With those aside, the only nukige I've really enjoyed I've enjoyed not because of the h-content but the story. And it was euphoria of all thins, too... wtf Clockup, I didn't expect that level of quality at all. Speaking of disturbing weird stuff, (https://vndb.org/v4766, I remember looking for this once out of curiosity, but I couldn't find it. Maybe I was saved, but now that it came up again... where did you get this thing? Although judging by that 'Sex with insects' tag, this thing will give me a lifelong trauma.
