Like what can you say about an H-scene? Are we going to rate our arousal levels with a scale or something? I don't know how much i could elaborate on it. Steve Posted February 25, 2014 Share Posted February 25, 2014 Well the zakas ideas are too specific for me, I actually have nothing to say about any of the topics, I don't distinguish separate writers for routes or even know their names, the only all-ages I played was Planetarian so I can't pick from anything (I did add the H-scenes from EX to LB), I don't read bad VNs and that way I don't think they are overrated or worst (if its bad I drop it, unlike batman) xD So these topics would require batman and people like that xD I would try to keep the topics positive, nothing "the worst" - from a listener or viewer standpoint it is not that interesting listening to people bash games like batman does, even if his opinion is genuine. And I wouldn't do spoiler cast because you would be appealing to a very specific group of people who played ALL the games discussed - which means it would lower the amount of people who can actually listen to it. Lots of people do like that, though. As long as it's not your favorite game being bashed, it's funny. And it doesn't have to not be informatory. Steve Posted February 25, 2014 Share Posted February 25, 2014 I don't know I would try to NOT focus on single developer and especially not Key, because there is already too many podcast and VN shows like that talking about Key only. There is too many fanbois. Like don't take me wrong, I like Key too a lot, LB is like one of the best games I played for me and I would be glad to mention it, BUT having whole podcast episode dedicated to Key when already half of the previous podcast was about Key (lot of LB, Rewrite and Clannad talk and even some Air) is not a good idea imo. There needs to be some diversity, even get someone like Clephas who can also talk about Japanese only VNs, something about translation process can be there too. I dunno I just feel that EVERY forum out there that is even remotely related to VNs (so even many anime forums) has topics like "whats the best route in Clannad, whats the best route in LB, why is Key so good" and like I get it, lot of people play those games so lot of people have something to say about it, but it only adds to the overshadowing of other projects that people are working on translating and I don't think its good. So even though I love LB as much as I love Hoshimemo, I always try to recommend Hoshimemo because games like that get overshadowed all the time in the English community. Maybe its just be but I wouldn't listen to podcast solely about Key and rating which game from them is the best one, I see to much of it and similar stuff like that all over the internet (on anime forums its even worse since its which key anime is the best etc), its just so overtalked topic that I don't want to see it anymore. The best characters is interesting idea, it can work. I would leave out best genre, its like talking about best genre of music, never good (and I wouldn't say nakige is genre, its just story archetype). More like "favorite" genre and why, that could work. Some H talk would be good to emphasize on the ero part of "eroge" since last show was mostly about the story part. And soundtrack can be interesting idea, I think you can even play music under non-commercial license (which this podcast is) as it would be in a form of review and critique (smaller sample), so maybe I could even sing there xD - bonus topic I would add could be something like favorite OP or VN presentation. Speaking of which, I don't think we should - an hour sounds like the perfected duration for a podcast, and since we're making something of Fuwa-level quality it doesn't matter if we're 5 or 10 or 30 minutes off the hour mark. Also 99% of vns are romance so maybe more like separate by setting of the VN (medival/fantasy, sci-fi, modern day) - which would only make 3 categories.
