Correct. None of the h-scenes are in the main story in the Japanese version. They're all intended to only be accessible via menu. Kinda like how Chrono Clock or eden* were. The Fakku version has all of those scenes.
Mountains out of molehills, imo. A handful of altered or missing ecchi CGs and a dozen lines without voices is not the end of the world. The translation accuracy is a bigger concern, but I dunno if I trust Fakku comments on that. This whole ordeal seems way over-dramatic for how small the issue really is. Like, should it have been released in this state? No, and I do hope it gets fixed soon. But is it really bad enough to start a witch hunt for responsible parties and demand refunds? Even Fakku's initial statement seemed outrageous to me. I get the feeling that they are just trying to win points with the anti-SP and anti-censorship crowds and are willing to stir up drama and throw SP under the bus to get these points.

Tsujidou-san to me is super fun and has similiarities to MajiKoi in terms of comedy and overpowered heroines and stuff.
Just don't expect lots of the friendship stuff and variety and power scale of MajiKoi series

Yeah, that and give me my SU45 waifu (seriously, for me it's the most beautiful loco ever, don't know why)

I'm going with all-ages version for this VN - reasons similar to Poltroon's.

My only complaint is there's no EU07 in the game
What controversy? Maitetsu is an all-ages title with silly fanservice h-scenes added later on as a downloadable bonus (that's Lose for you). Those aren't canon and you don't need the 18+ version at all.
I'm more concerned by the fact the story present in Maitetsu is... not even nowhere as good as in Monobeno, not to mention Gothderi. It has nice art, tho.

adamstan reacted to Plk_Lesiak in Why do you prefer 2D ecchiness?
For a pretty long time now I try to avoid porn in general, but hentai just doesn't do much for me and never did. I like romance in VNs or anime and the sexual tension or flirting between characters can be hot to me, but when it transitions into h-scenes the charm goes away pretty much instantly. It's just boring, repetitive and doesn't click with my brain on that "basic" level either. The more explicit and over-the-top hentai is, the more laughable it feels to me - Nekopara is the prime example here, although the overwhelming creepiness of the premise would make it hard for me to enjoy it that way even if I liked the ero parts. ;p
Maybe I still haven't found the "right" hentai, like Maggie once said? The only exceptions I can remember were actually softcore scenes, in things such as Starlight Vega or Cute Demon Crashers (unsurprisingly, yuri ones), although I wouldn't describe it as much more than mild fuzziness.
Of course, 2D waifus are still the best, I just don't feel the need to lewd them. I'm a man of many contradictions, it seems. *shrug*

Seeing as I've finished To Heart 2, well, the routes I intend to finish, that is, I wanted to ask a pair of questions that've been bugging me.
1 - Is there a case to be made for calling Konomi the canon heroine? Considering her prominence in the artwork (she features near the center rather often), her prominence in the OP (which focuses more on her than any other character, and shows her both first and last) and the comments about how hers (and Tamaki's) can be considered something of a common route, it seems like it wouldn't be such a far-fetched idea. Plus tbh she's obviously a sucrose-based lifeform. I really liked her haha.
    2 -
I liked this VN though and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a lighter and more relaxing read. My biggest issue with it was that the routes were quite inconsistent, but the characters were well done and memorable, and as has been said before, there are a lot of elements that have become commonplace in later VNs so it's nice to see them make their start here. I was also really surprised to see quite a few VAs I've recognized from other works: Itou Shizuka (Amagami), Nabatame Hitomi (Noble Works), and Rikimaru Noriko (Majikoi) being some examples. Plus it has a very very good soundtrack, with a lot of relaxing songs that just set your mind at ease when you listen to them. Feeling Heart is my favorite, but there are two other really good ones I'd like to link here:

As far as best route I think it'd be Sasara's or Konomi's, as I felt like
As far as best character I think it'd be Konomi, with Tamaki and Sasara coming in second and third respectively. Best scene has to be Yuma's first rant, with one of the funniest lines I've ever read: "I hate people like you! I hate them so much I could just pour mayonnaise all over them! You pervert!!!". Though, having said all this I get the feeling I might need to reread at least some parts of the Konomi route :D.
Thanks again ittaku for the recommendation, and the translation too, along with all those who helped out along the way.

Feel free to choose whichever version you would prefer. Either version will provide a complete story. It is only if you compare them side by side that you may start complaining about them, but the purpose of an all-ages version is not to compare side by side. It is to provide a different (less explicit) version of the experience, and that it does.
If you have no real reason to reject the 18+ version, go for that one. If you do indeed have a reason, the all-ages version is perfectly fine and enjoyable.

Finished Rina's route in Fureraba. Pretty much the best route in the game, and 2nd best girl overall (Yuzuyu still best girl).
And that was the last route. Fureraba finished! Kyousuke's near infinite enthusiasm (and childlike antics) won me over as one of my most favorite protags so far (top 2 currently).
Now what do I read next......?

Yeah, it certainly wasn't game breaking - it's just that some sentences looked weird, or rather it felt somewhat rough. But what you said about Crescendo, was almost exactly my experience with ASFOS - I was aware of its issues, but it didn't break the game for me. OTOH in Kazoku Keikaku emotional impact of the routes was damaged for me as I had to struggle with extracting the meaning from unedited lines. Looks like different things bother us, and we have different "pain thresholds" for various text issues.

It'll probably take some time too, as I'm squeezing it between various other activities.

Kazoku Keikaku has some serious editing issues in character routes (common is mostly OK). Crescendo is better, but it also looked awkward to me in many lines, and there were some moments of "TooLong;Didn'tTL" - some lines were muuuch shorter than what could be heard in voice-over. OTOH Yukizakura and Heart de Roommate were good.
As for those ancient '90s titles - I didn't read Nocturnal Illusion, but did Sakura no Kisetsu and True Love ~jun'ai monogatari~. I'd say that Miagete is somewhere in between all these titles. Certainly above "True Love", which was rather messy. Maybe around "Sakura no Kisetsu" - readable, but with some obvious errors visible.
But, like I said, it seems that I'm unable to properly judge "prose quality" in english, unless it's broken or style doesn't match (my impression of) the characters (say, as with Chrono Clock's protag ).
It's definitely worth reading. And definitely better than MoeNovel's Miagete TL.
ChronoClock has controversial style for protagonist and narration (lots of swearing mixed with some british(?) slang), but other than that it was okay for me. And I haven't found any obvious issues with SakuSaku.

As for TL quailty - it's possible that, not being native English speaker, I'm more forgiving than I should. As long as it doesn't sound completely broken, I'm okay. And original Konosora TL WAS broken in maaaany places (Ageha's route) - meaning that there were some words, but I couldn't get what's going on at all So maybe I rated it too lightly indeed. I'd say, comparing to other works, Miagete TL is around the level of early JAST/G-collections releases. Manages to convey the meaning most of the time, but has issues, which are probably even more jarring for native EN speakers.
For Sekai translations - I've read SakuSaku, Chrono Clock and Wagamama, and indeed they are much better.
Good luck with your project, even though I liked all ages version, I'll definitely check it out once it's done.
Me too, but that's one of those rare situations for me - maybe not remove them all, but halve the amount
Another case is LittleBusters. I think almost everyone agrees that h-scenes in it were horrible and all-ages version is superior. (But yeah, that's slightly different as game was originally all-ages, with H added later).

Recently I looked at Mangagamer's store and found that the limited edition of Princess Evangile only had 35 copies left. While it also is available at other stores like Jlist I would assume that there aren't that many copies left. Because of this I wanted to share some pictures of the physical edition in case there are anyone who is on the fence about buying the physical copy or if there are anyone who might have not known about it having a physical release who is interested in the VN. This also comes with a steam key so that anyone who buys it also gets the steam edition as well as the 18+ editon which is on disc.

I would also end this by saying that I am really loving this VN so far, I have not yet completed all of it but I am pretty close to the Rise ending. I would recommend the VN itself to anyone who would like to play through a lighthearted VN with a little bit of drama to spice things up.

I was watching some let's plays of particularly shitty EVNs (it seems it's most of what I'm doing lately ) and on three different occasions I've seen people complaining about "bad localization". I guess it's something of an achievement, having your VN so badly written that it looks like a poor translation from Japanese, good job Sakura Spirit, Sakura Swim Club, Yozora Rhapsody.

This is also how we're dividing up the translation work. I'm working on the main school group and @Hasa is working on the branch school group which are similar amounts of text. Additionally the style between each group is different thanks to the two different writers so it makes sense to have two different translators who also will have different styles. Assuming we both translate our respective sections to completion, there will be consistency within each subsection.

    I just finished Crescendo
It was good, though a little bit short. With some after-credits epilogues it would be much better, but still I enjoyed it.
First I went with Kaho/Kyoko route (Kaho's ending, Kyoko's ending and then neutral ending). It was OK, from that pair I think I liked Kyoko's route more.
Kaho's part of the route was also good.
And even so-called "bad ending" for this route wasn't really bad, it is more of "normal/neutral" ending, and actually has rather happy feeling to it as well.
That route was your typical school romance story. The other three get much heavier. Yuka's route is probably the best in whole VN. She does rather bad first impression - so I felt about her the same as protagonist did. But when you enter her route, prepare yourself for a ride... I don't want to spoil the whole story. Probably most emotional moment in this route for me was
And then at the end there's hidden Miyu's route, that hits hard with some KeyMagicTM - the ending actually made me cry.
    ***
The game looks good. I had to get used to art style - those eyes looked weird at the beginning, but after a while it was OK, and the girls were really beautiful. It actually looked better than screenshots on VNDB - I'm not sure why is it like that. Backgrounds are nice too. There were two CGs where bodies defied laws of physics (or some parts were badly dislocated )
Other than that - no complaints.
I really liked the music - it set the mood well. For some reason, it reminded me of Katawa Shoujo. I know that music in KS is actually different, but I got similar feelings.
Localization could use some more editing - it was readable, but there were lots of awkward phrases. And it suffers from siimilar bug as Kazoku Keikaku - there is one missing line in Miyu's route, where there's voice but no text at all.
Overally - good, although I wish it was a bit longer. 8/10
I'm not sure what to read next. Maybe I'll take short break from VNs waiting for summer Steam sale, and then get Clannad and Symphonic Rain.

And again, the problem here is that any rigorous policy that tries to enforce moral principles and political correctness in fiction will end up excluding a large swath of content I happen to enjoy.  Cheesecake?  Offensive and demeaning to women.  Lolis?  Get that pedobait off here.  Inappropriate religious symbolism?  You're disrespecting someone's faith.
We have this culture of outrage and it's really tiresome.  I feel like the correct response to blatant trolling is to just ignore it.  It's attention-seeking behavior.  If you give them attention, they win.  Attempts to root them out will result in collateral damage that justifies their cause and rallies support for them.

I just finished Sakura no Kisetsu

It was nice romcom VN - I can see how it stood out in the '90s among the sea of translated nukiges It has quite well-written characters, some funny dialogue, and isn't focused on h-scenes, which appear (one per girl) only in the epilogues. There are eight heroines. The routes share most of the events, and they branch based on "affection points", but differences aren't big - some different dialogues, and - in case of some routes - additonal events.
I think that my favorite routes/endings were Kiyomi (I like girls with glasses ), Ruri and Aki (with Ruri's and Aki's endings being most emotional in whole game).
Some more screenshots from these three:
Weakest one (and the shortest) was Shoko's (pink haired girl), who didn't have much of a route actually
Reiko and Mio - two blue haired girls - were nice too, but their routes didn't stand out that much. Nevertheless I liked them.
Nice, and no too common thing, is that your comic-relief friend (Makoto) gets the girl too in some endings
Now let's talk a little about technical aspects. The game looks really good despite suffering from VGA limitations. I really like character design. I know that they are almost directly lifted from popular anime shows of the time (MKR, Evangelion and Saint's Tail), but I just like that style. I'd actually like to see similar character designs and art style in some modern VN. Another nice thing are little details used to liven-up the sprites - although they only have one pose (except for CGs of course), there are numerous facial expressions and outfits for each girl, and the faces have little animations - like eyes blinking, or anime-tears flowing  - nice touch . The backgrounds also change slightly depending on time of the day (lighting) and situation (like classroom can be empty or have some students and/or teacher in it).
The gameplay is that of modern text-adventure games (like Eric the Unready for example) - so there's no parser, but you choose from set of commands like "look", "talk" etc. It can be quite tiresome - I'd actually prefer the style of modern VNs, when there are only choices. As it is, to listen to whole dialogue you often have to click "TALK">"character" numerous times. OTOH - no one can say "This isn't a game!"
Localization is actually decent. There are some grammar errors and mislabeled lines, but nothing game-breaking. It is perfectly readable. Funny thing is, how JAST dealt with characters being in high-school. Instead of putting standard warning ("This is a work of fictioin, all characters are +18 yadayadayada") they tried to rewrite story - by changing HS to "prep school" between HS and college, and renaming "principal" to "dean", and yet at the same time failing miserably right at one of the first screens

Overally - it was nice read, with likeable and beautiful girls. 7/10 - give it a try if you have some time (and use a walkthrough )
Next one to read will be either Crescendo or Hatsukoi after stories.

Hmmm. Tough one to answer. I'm just going to list them but not in order as that'd be too difficult
Haruka route - Little Busters: This route really hit me on a personal level. I thought she was just a pest and silly, but that wound up being a really wrong impression. I do think the route was a bit overdone to elicit feels, but even so the themes it touched on and the struggles she had to face had me riveted to my seat for a long while, and left me thinking about the route even months later.
Sasami route - Little Busters: As with the Haruka route, this route really hit me on a personal level. I really liked her whole "OHOHOHOHO" ojousama schtick throughout the VN and when it came to her route I didn't know what to expect, so when things started happening I was really really hit hard.
True route - Steins;Gate: This was really well done.
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (plus Sunny Day ending). I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with UBW, having watched the anime and thought it was too convoluted, then going back and reading the VN and all three routes in order. It's my favorite route in FS/N though, for a couple of reasons. I'm biased towards tsunderes (especially those with twintails) but Tohsaka is a great example. Not just that but the route itself feels pretty balanced IMO, and the action and events strike the right mix of feels + action + philosophy, where I felt Heaven's Feel went over the top. As for Sunny Day - I don't really like the main ending (it feels kind of just "there" to me) so while Sunny Day is far shorter and less descriptive I thought it made sense even if it is a bit cliche in the end.
Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Chisato route: This might be a bit controversial but I liked the route and Chisato herself (again, twintail tsundere :D). I'd say most of the characters were pretty well done, but between the VN's focus on Chisato and the "hook" they used,
I felt was unique and well done without going too far off the rails. That hook, especially, touched on a few themes that I felt were poignant, and though I wasn't entirely happy with the execution it still was a pretty solid, enjoyable, and memorable route.

    Somewhat in order
    1) Fun, likable, interesting and/or developed characters
    2) Engaging story in some way (doesn't need worldbuilding liek Fate or Muv-luv just something interesting/funny/heartwarming happening most of the time)
    3) Good feels in someway, generally im not into downer endings UNLESS the VN was made for it
    4) Good vanilla H-scenes (good art, at least decent length-wise, has my favorite position(s))
    5) Good plot twists. Doesnt necessarily have to be unpredictable (but always welcome!) but more something that shakes up the plot enough so it's not too same-y the whole time.
