  1. I really need to get around to beating Da Capo 2 Plus Communication...
  2. Evil heroines: Kind of depends on what you mean. If you mean evil for evil's sake heroines like Saeki from Bible Black or Leona from Discipline then no. If we're talking heroines with an actual reason behind their villainy like the Sonohara twins of MinDead Blood or Yuka from Gore Screaming Show (those are the only non-spoiler examples I can think of) then I'd say yes. Calculating/cold blooded heroines: Again depends. I admit it's a good and often interesting character arc starting point at the very least, but it can be disappointing if at the end of the route that character trait is really all there is to the character. I will admit master tactician heroines can be cool. Yanderes: Yes so long as it's not the only thing to their character like in say Hitomi My Stepsister. Shocking pair of endings yes, but at the end of the day what else was there aside from the shock value (and the ero)? Chuunibyou: Haven't really encountered any good examples of this so, who knows? Mahou Shoujo: Not yet. First give me an example of one that isn't a walking joke/Sailor Moon reference or monster rape bait and I'll gladly play that game. Overpowered: I enjoyed Tsujidou-san no Junai Road and its fandisk (looking forward to the next game in the series Minato Carnival is advertising). Ai and Maki definitely fall into the overpowered section
  3. Well, this was sooner than expected.. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-12-07/dragon-ball-super-to-premiere-on-toonami-in-january/.109617
  4. Just remembered there's the Shadow Hearts trilogy (PS2 emulator), Arc the Lad trilogy (PS1 emulator (there's also the PS2 sequels but Twilight of the Spirits is only decent compared to the previous games (plus on the romance front only Kharg has what would be considered a romantic arc and even then it doesn't go very far) and End of Darkness...the fandom pretends that never happened), and there's also Legend of Heroes IV: A Tear of Vermillion on PSP though you're going to have to deal with a translation that's a small step above machine translation.
  5. Currently reading Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run, mainly because it's a different universe so I won't spoil anything to come for the inevitable anime adaptations of Part 5 and 6, it's a step to checking out the latest series and the idea of a wild west manga was interesting. Enjoying it so far, especially the funny music tribute names of Stands and people and am about half way through now. I think that may be the first time I've seen killer balloon animals
  6. I also recommend Trails in the Sky and its sequel. Anyway on to my recommendations: Final Fantasy IX (available on Steam), Suikoden V (need a PS2 emulator), Tales of the Abyss (ditto), Persona 3 and 4 (ditto, PSP emulator for the former if you want to play as the female protagonist and I should point out 4 got an expanded version for the Vita), Growlanser Generations (PS2 emulator), Growlanser Heritage of War (ditto), Sakura Wars: So Long My Love (ditto), Thousand Arms (PS1 emulator), Xenogears (ditto)
  7. Funimation's put up a couple previews for the dub. Saw them here:
  8. Well, Hakuoki's good, though with a (really expanded) remake coming out for the Vita you might want to wait for that: Another good one is Norn9 though that one is a bit more slice of life oriented: http://gamesforadultsandeveryone.blogspot.com/2016/02/games-for-everyone-norn9-var-commons.html
  9. Never mind, something went wrong with one of the files I first downloaded, it installed normally
  10. So how do I install the patch? Do I just put it in the same folder as the game data?
  11. Funbag/Kyonyuu Fantasy has Gladys and eventually Isis Kyonyuu Fantasy 2/if has Zebia Tsujidou-san no Junai Road has that in its main heroine Ai, and its fandisk Virgin Road has that with Azusa Cho Dengeki Stryker does that in Hilko's route, but unfortunately the ending's kinda disappointing Eroge!'s Iori and Momoka are kind of this, though the latter's route is a slog to get to that point
  12. Yeah and this video has good sum up: Does not make the last bit (that starts at around 13:00) any less scary though...
  13. Well, to some extent there's Naoko Matsui, who some might recognize as Sonoko from Detective Conan and Dorothy from Gundam Wing: https://vndb.org/s1668 She's also done some acting in hentai OVAs like the Angel Blade series (will we ever get a sequel to Punish?), Sexorcist/Ningyo Tsukai and Angel of Darkness/Inju Kyoshi. Kikuko Inoue (who most would know was Belldandy from Ah My Goddess) apparently has been in few: https://vndb.org/s473 Ikue Otani who some of you might know as Pikachu from Pokemon and Chopper from One Piece, did play a heroine in the first To Heart game: https://vndb.org/c5883 Not sure if she did the voice for the original 18+ version, but seeing as she has been in a few hentai OVAs (such as Cool Devices and Toshin Toshi 2 OVA)...
  14. You at all familiar with s.s.l. 's Rider centric doujinshi series? If not, check them out https://nhentai.net/group/s-s-l/
  15. For some reason I am instead picturing Fate's Gilgamesh with Trump's head
  16. Well it's about time http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-11-04/funimation-licenses-dragon-ball-super-plans-english-dub/.108465
  17. Thank you very much Also it isn't your Chrome browser, I've been running into a strange glitch that for some reason makes text get a completely white background in the blog that makes the text nearly unreadable and changing the back ground to pure black is the only fix I can find.
  18. Happy Halloween, everyone and for this year we end things with Kara no Shojo -The Second Episode- http://gamesforadultsandeveryone.blogspot.com/2016/10/games-for-adults-halloween-kara-no.html
  19. Two crazy kids fall in love then kill themselves.
  20. Okay in a bit more seriousness I can acknowledge learning a new language for a hobby to seem silly to some, but really what's wrong with being silly sometimes? Also you can argue that any hobby one can be passionate about looks silly in some view or another here's a couple examples: 1) You're spending HOW MUCH MONEY to go to your favorite band/sports team's events?! Even traveling across the country?!? 2) You' re practically breaking your back at work already, why the heck are you doing even more back breaking work restoring some hunk of junk in the garage? Me personally I'm somewhat literate in Japanese and I don't regret anything about that. I've been able to experience games and other entertainment many aren't able to, gotten some understanding of a writing and speech system completely different from my native language's and the languages it derives from, which has also helped me in learning some about another country's history and culture. To anyone who says most people wouldn't or shouldn't do that then I'll quote a certain Dornish prince (who would later go on to experience a very nasty headache ) "I don't want to be 'most of us'..."
  21. Glad you enjoyed the first game and here's hoping Mangagamer licenses the sequels which do a good job world building with bringing in other countries and the game universe equivalent of the Vatican into the mix of political intrigue, plus Gladys is given more to do in Gaiden 1 and 2 (not to mention her banter with Shamsiel is always entertaining). Then of course there's the second game and its remake and hopefully MG translates the latter since it is the better version on the writing front.
  22. Thanks for pointing that out, unfortunately I have no idea how that happened but I made the best fix I could by changing the background color. Looks weird now, but it should be readable, apologies to any readers for the inconvenience
