Except that Commies not the only team working on an English translation of Mahoyo, a team over at beast lair is and they already released a 5 chapter partial.  Anyways, I am not upset about it going official, its great news because it means we might have a shot at an official Sakura no Uta Localization plus Subahibi is worth buying and the fact that I dont have to throw money at another annoying kickstarter campaign all the better.

As I told Moogy & Company earlier I'll believe it when I see an official announce. TLWiki hasn't exactly been professional in the way they handle things when it comes to Subahbi (heres looking at you herkz even moogy trolled people on twitter and irc   So until I see something from KeroQ, I will remain leery. Though If it IS true, then i will preorder as soon as I can.

Is not that i doubt what he says but they told us in the past that the patch was already to be released this was on july and a month ago that they were going to release it in a week, it seems that the knew from the start what was going on and thus this big delay and now this is happening, so yeah forgive me for not trusting anyone this day. The word of a person on the internet doesnt worth much sadly this is a generalization and I do trust many people but not if i dont talk to them personally, not that it bothers me or anything either, business are business and it is better to release something and make profit from it than to give it just for free so I understand.

    Good.
FUCK KICKSTARTER. You don't need to kickstarter every VN you want to localize. That is all.

Trap heroines do not bother me in the slightest, I'd like to see more VN with them to be honest.

Imo the Grisaia series has a lot going for it, the writing was good, the art was top notch the OST is nice as well, While there are definitely series out there that are better, I seldom got bored reading Kajtisu and what I ve read of Meikyuu. These are my thoughts on the matter so take it with a grain of salt.

Make sure you have permission to link those patches from the groups who release them, some are really rather picky about that thing and would rather have you grab from their links only.

Tsui no Sora is a terrible experience that will forever ruin your vision of Subarashiki Hibi so don't read it. But in a way it's an absolutely unforgettable experience in this so read it if you feel like exploring the idea of ruination. Anyways about 95% of Tsui no Sora's script is basically copy-pasted as the first three chapters (excluding RH1) of SubaHibi, except it's extensively edited and polished to fluidly transition with the experience of the last three chapters. This makes it kind of meaningless to play it in the first place.

About every Necessary denpa title that I can think of was already recommended here, which doesn't really tell any tale about the genre's library. From this list Sayooshi seems to be of the highest quality (I'd say Sayooshi is even as great as SubaHibi in parts), so I guess I'd recommend that first and foremost. Next would be Kusarihime since it's cool, and... That's honestly about all I can say lol.. Poor denpa the sub-sub-genre of an already niche corner in media that's part representative argument against Key's plots.

yoa i second sayooshi & euthanasia, both great experiences which broaden your horizon, where the first one mindfucks you badly & the second one lets say..hm it makes you hate family in general after reading through.
other than that of course subahibi & you might want to look through cyc´s catalog of games

Windows 10 is the best OS released by microsoft but I guess you can continue to use outdated technology because of some dumb solitaire crap.

Sounds pretty chuuni to me, which is a largely unexplored genre for MangaGamer. There are rumors of a possible Propeller announcement, do they have any games that fit that quote? I can't think of any suitable games from them. I still wouldn't put much stock in that rumor at all, seems like a pretty unlikely one to me. I just want to say it at loud which is something I didn't do a few weeks ago with Haruka, even though that did leak out ahead of time, I dismissed it as unlikely and never brought it up. So, never say never...

In other news, the primary translator/TLCer who worked on Steins;Gate for JAST teased something to do with Chaos;Head, so that may be a thing.

I thought that Swan Song was done pretty well, it felt like the way people would act in a post apocalyptic type scenario, However there are a lot of unanswered questions...

All in all I really did enjoy the novel  despite the rape scenes...

douggle reacted to sanahtlig in Sekai Project depends on crowdfunding entirely too much
I'm not a big fan of crowdfunding for-profit projects.  I find it exploitative.  If I'm investing in a for-profit enterprise, I expect a return on my investment--i.e., if I contribute 1% of the funds to create a game, then I have a 1% stake in that game, and I expect a cut of the profits that result from the game's sale.  Now, it would be different if crowdfunding was used to develop a game and the game was then freely distributed afterwards.  But that's not what's happening.

I'll grudgingly support a new developer that needs the funding to get their first project off the ground.  But after that?  They better start funding themselves using the profits they withheld from investors.

I'm extremely skeptical of traditional crowdfunding campaigns, and I would only support them for a product that I really want, or for an innovative cause that I think is worthy of donating to (to date, these requirements have not been met).  And more than likely, I would contribute at the minimum level to obtain the primary game assets.  Sekai Project's continued reliance on crowdfunding is just one more reason I continue to regard them and their business practices with suspicion.

As for a glorified preorder campaign, I'm not necessarily opposed to that concept, though I'd be extremely wary if they said they would charge me in advance for a product that is still in the planning stages with no projected release date.  I'm not opposed to preorder campaigns to gauge customer interest (similar to Steam Greenlight).  I'm opposed to assuming financial risk for the profit of others--i.e., being exploited.

It's going to come back to bite them eventually if that's all they do.  You can't run a business venture based entirely on donations unless you're a nonprofit that operates entirely on cultivating donations through goodwill.  Sekai Project is a for-profit company, obviously.

I don't like how Kickstarter is being used recently, either.  I have nothing against Shenmue or the people making it, but they essentially turned the site into a pre-order retailer without admitting that's what they were doing.  We all know that Sekai can most likely afford to fund things themselves now, considering how popular the Sakura series is, for some reason.  I was hesitant to use Kickstarter in the first place, but if things continue like this, no Kickstarter project will see any money from me unless they can prove that they aren't just gauging interest, and the project won't be funded no matter what.  It goes against the very purpose of the site.  AAA publishers and developers using the site is moronic.

douggle reacted to Fiddle in Sekai Project depends on crowdfunding entirely too much
If by "depend too much" you mean that the problem is a moral one and not a financially risky one—I don't see how the latter could be the case—then I entirely agree. Excuse my capitalist inclinations, but in an ideal system of business, the profits of a company should be proportional to how much customers are accurately expecting to get out of and thus pay for a product; if this proportion does not exist, then somebody, either the business or the customers (but most often the customers, of course) is being treated unfairly. JAST and Mangagamer get by on this. Kickstarter is a clever way to draw money from people without any guarantee of ultimately delivering the "supply" aspect of "demand and supply," an artifice on which South Park has a nice episode. Naturally, the inherent justification for this business behavior is that the customer is consenting to paying this money, as stated above ("blame the people who fund all their projects if anything"). I personally believe, however, that full consent requires full knowledge, and I see the Kickstarter funders as victims, not criminals, of this misbusiness, even if many of them are indeed stupid. In the United States, at least, I'm aware that the government (very occasionally ) cracks down on pseudo-science companies that advertise health supplements at exorbitant prices, which, in actuality, obviously benefit one's health in no manner, but customers who are unaware of this consent to purchasing them anyway. I do not deem those companies to be in the moral right.
