I'm doing my best not to comment on the overall argument, since I have an inherent bias towards NGE, but I wouldn't worry in the end you are two people of millions who watch NGE. Who gives a shit what other people thinks of your tantrum argument, nothing was going to be accomplished or achieved. Internet arguments only serve as entertainment for those directly involved, nothing more and nothing less. Especially in regards with anything that you have an emotional attachment with. The only things that people are capable to have a rational discussion, in which their opinions on the subject can be swayed, are in topics in which either person has no interest or emotional involvement in. 
ANYWAYS, you failed because you quit first 3/10. Ahhhh makes me miss my more belligerent days in which I kept internet arguments going for weeks, fun times.

Anyway. Watched episode one of Maid Dragon. They adapted about 5 chapters. I love the gradient hair colors they decided to add to the dragon girls. The original only had solid colors. 
The character details, especially the eyes on the dragons, are lovely, as you'd expect from KyoAni. It really makes you want to look at their cute faces.
Also, that sweet, sweet yuri can already be felt from a mile away:



One thing I particularly appreciated was the voice acting. Every character so far had the exact type of voice I pictured in my head. Kobayashi always sounds tired and monotone, Tooru sounds super cheerful and excited, Fafnir has a dark and edgy tone, and Kanna in particular is exactly how I imagined she would sound: quiet. I can't wait to see her next episode.
I'm a little annoyed at all the "boing" sound going off whenever Tooru's chest movies. Hope it's not too frequent of a thing.

I was very vocal about my passion for visual novels and porn during my uni years too, so I'm actually impressed by the guts of the guy, and agree with him on the philosophical level at least. The only thing our society achieved by repressing sexuality for arbitrary reasons is more mental illness and stress. An according to Freud, all forms of art are just sublimation of our sexuality anyway, so I don't see why a drawing of sex couldn't be considered it.
...That said, you won't overturn thousands of years worth of societal imprinting with a single class, so the reaction was pretty much unavoidable. You probably could have tried to soften the presentation by obfuscating the image a little, or giving them some historical Japanese "pornographic" art like I linked earlier and introduce that as an evolution of that. Anyway, it's a complicated thing that will automatically make a lot of ppl upset if not presented well... and uh, I'm not sure if high school is the best place for it, given that our society arbitrarily restricts people your age from even consuming erotica yet... still better be a weirdo than live as a pretender!
