If anybody else has been following the Fruits Basket reboot, that episode was the clincher. I've been waiting for that scene since seeing the original many years ago, but it still floored me. Damn I wept so hard.

I wholeheartedly wish I knew more about fashion to use actually correct terminology here, but lemme go ahead and embarrass myself on the internet anyways:
So the way I see it, for girls there are like three general designs for school uniforms (Blazer, Sailor and the ... corset type? You know, the one where the boobs are really fun to draw) and a fourth category for fantasy and unconventional ones. And then shit gets even more complicated, when the summer and winter uniforms are different types, like how Hoshimemo has sailor uniforms in Summer, but blazers in winter just to annoy me. 
Getting something similar to a coherent judgement was rough; For general blazer uniforms, Little Busters came to mind because I love the red/black combo and Comyu because it was a Harry Potter gag, but I would say my favorite uniform of that type would be the Daitoshokan uniform. It's very bright, with the white and red and the vest some of the girls wear helps make it not so boring in Summer when they take the actual blazer off and only rock the shirt. Good fashion, would force a girl to wear IRL/10
In the Sailor category, the To Heart 2 uniform came out on top over the Suki Suki uniform. Both contestants enter with the tried and true white/red aestethic. But when in doubt, go with the classics and do Ittaku a good one. Also, the 2Heart (I think To Heart 1 has the same, but whatever) uniform looks more like something an actual student would wear, while the other one looks like a cosplay from amazon. Honorable mention to Dracu-Riot, because I have to.
Entering the corset... half-shirt... tiddy window... the third category, I immediately remembered Koichoco and the thicc dream supreme: Wagahigh. Koichoco has a very simple, but effective design that scores points from how easy it is to customize it (I like it when the school uniform gets some personal touches by the characters, like Michiru's shirt or Nozomi's lab coat) and the greenish-blue is cool. On the other side, the Wagahigh uniform is a technical marvel, capable of containing to sheer amount of (totally anatomically correct) waifu flab within it's confines. Neither of those take the win for me though.
Not gonna touch up on the fantasy stuff, because I can really think of is Rewrite with the dress uniform.

For men, Visual Novels aside, the best is the Persona 4 cloth. Sorry chinese powerpoint boyos, you will never come anywhere close to the absolute thuggery that is the checkerboard collar and the swagass stichlines. I love this one so much, I actually bought one. 

Same here, in about 1998. I still have fond memories of True Love '95 as it was called back then, and play it every few years just for nostalgic value. I remember all those older games too and played them through religiously, though I'm not sure I ever unlocked everything except for True Love. I played every single English translated VN/dating sim available back then so all the VGA classics. Walkthroughs were hard to come by back then. The concept of unlocking everything didn't come till about mid 2000s to me. By the latter half of the 2000s I finally fell off the curve, unable to keep up with English translated releases and had moved to native Japanese ones so the sheer number available made it overwhelming, just at about the same time I dramatically decreased the number I played. Nowadays I only get to play 3 or 4 a year. Having a full life with career, family, kids etc. made it a relatively low priority but I never lost the love for them.

Lucky you enjoy it. Whilst the romantic overtones were nice they were too few and I struggled with Takagi and just wanted to throttle the fucking bitch and gave up a few episodes into season 2.

If you don't know Japanese don't start a project. Don't wanna piss on your dreams but this is most likely never happening, and in the event you even got two translators (unlikely) they'd take approximately 2 years to finish this even if they did multiple hundreds of lines every single day.

I finished watching Happy Sugar Life and... I'm kind of puzzled how people can enjoy that. I mean, I read what people defending it claim, but I feel like they watched a completely different show. Calling it a psychological anime makes School Days looks like a PhD thesis in psychology. People call it a comedy, but I haven't seen a single trace of genuine humour or self-parody in it. It's not even outlandish or incompetent enough to be "so bad its good", it's just disgustingly stupid. Haven't seen something this alienating and obnoxious since Calamity of the Zombie Girl, which proudly sits as my only 1/10 on MAL. Happy Sugar Life had literally one somewhat believable character (Hida) who I was slightly disturbed to see murdered, thus it's a 2/10. Disgusting trash.
Oh, and I guess it was some visual and sound gimmicks that could be considered marginally interesting if they were used for a better cause. Not good enough to deserve credit with how pathetic the actual substance of it all is.

Playing Akatsuki no Goei. Can't complain as it's been fun so far.

He said at AX something like "There are people always very passionate for VNs, including workers at Sol Press". So even if they are at a loss, Im sure many of the workers WANT to be on VN projects and of course being able to have good will in the VN community and Japanese companies is always nice.

TBH, I've typically heard worse ratios than 5:1 for pirated:sales from other VN publishers with access to sales data. There are of course cases to be made that some of those pirates wouldn't buy the game anyway even if pirating were, e.g., higher-risk, harder to do, outright impossible, etc. But yeah, piracy does seem to be a substantial contributor to why VNs are doomed to niche status in the west. Publishers just generally can't afford to get the games they and others want to because the vast majority of the people playing the games don't pay for them.

There's also a Mahokoi which I've played but that was terrible, so it's probably better it remains forgotten.

He doesn't need to "find a way", it was already stated in like the first or second episode that the protagonist is like 4-5 times stronger than any living human, while the girl in just in the upper limits of what greatest mages in the world can achieve. I think the actual value of this trick was introducing a love interest with a pre-established relationship with the protagonist and nullifying the need for harem. That's something I was really excited about, but the show itself is just incredibly bad. It's not even the story at this point, every episode amazes me more by how it manages to make the animation even cheaper than the previous one and doesn't care enough to try to hide it with some clever tricks. My absolute favourite is when the guildmaster says something: he's a dwarf with big beard covering his mouth, so his dialogue is presented with literal stills. Sometimes they remember to make his blink from time to time, but not always. And even the "best" moments looks like if they animated every 4th frame instead of every 2nd one. I've seen some cheap shit, but this is borderline unbelievable.
