  1. Shizuka Itou used to do eroge before she became a huge VA for anime and famously did Tama-nee in To Heart 2 X Rated and To Heart 2 Another Days. If you don't know who she is or how big she is, just check this out: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=17353
  2. Could not make it through Fortune Arterial. It was incredibly meh. I stalled at that point and never even tried Da Capo. Will eventually look into it. No one else up for the challenge? I doubt there's much of anything of significance left
  3. Plus is exactly the same story with the characters animated with the emote system (and even has the same typos as the original), but has an extra H scene for each route, so unlikely to be worth your time unless you absolutely loved CD and planned to play it again.
  4. Clover Day's Plus in Japanese should fit the bill nicely, having translated over half of it myself, since you don't need to wait for our English translation.
  5. The link under the "Browse" tab at the top that says "Latest VNTS" doesn't take you to the latest, it takes you to VNTS ALL.
  6. Rewatching Castle Town Dandelion with my wife. Fun upbeat simple show that's "different." EDIT: Finished that. Currently watching Angelic Layer, an old school show, which was recently put up on animelab. A solid watch so far.
  7. Hundreds, though the only one I'm a major contributor to is (completely unrelated to VNs/anime/manga/japanese weabooism) bitcointalk.org since I'm a software engineer in another online dimension. I do use the same avatar there though
  8. Welcome! I'm probably one of, if not the, oldest active member of the forum. I'm 46 and have been reading VNs for about 20 years and watched anime for about 15 years. The passion has waxed and waned over that period but never died out completely. Additionally I've become a translator for the fun of it and as a way of keeping my Japanese skills up. I guess the only thing is my career and family life was well established before any of these pastimes became a big part of my life, having a full time unrelated career, wife and two kids. That's probably a better order to do things in since a hedonistic lifestyle of just doing the things you enjoy is better earned than a way of life to begin with - it's hard to turn things around later on. On the other hand there's nothing stopping you turning something you're really passionate about into a career. No matter how bad you are at something, if you're passionate you end up becoming good at it, though there's always the danger that turning a hobby into a career is a good way to lose interest in it. As you might be able to tell from what I'm saying there's really no right or wrong way to approach or do anything in particular, so long as it works for you in some fashion.
  9. The caption says its a "Ninomiya Asuka"... unless it's a very unusual reading of 二宮飛鳥 I've never seen before. Looks like that's a character from Idolmaster. Strike that. Was responding to wrong post response lol.
  10. This is at attempt to create our own bash.org like classic IRC quotes thread. From today's online chatter, for those who read moon speak.
  11. I watched that through, it was fun and original. Could do with another season like many underrated shows.
  12. It actually takes over a thousand hours of skilled(ish) labour to translate a medium to long visual novel and much more with all the work required to hack it, edit the text, proofread etc. Now ask yourself what would motivate someone to dedicate those hours to translating a visual novel for free and whether you asking as a single post on a forum would be motivation enough for them to take on your request. Not only that, but you asked for 5 to be translated too...
  13. 女子肛校生放課後アナルクラブ~私のお尻を好きにして♪~ https://vndb.org/v4450
  14. Hibike Euphonium has such great fleshed out characters it's a good reminder of what's so bad about so many shows... S2 is turning out to be just as good as, if not better than, S1.
  15. Usually it's only 1 or 2 good shows from about a dozen watchable series. But since there are 30+ each season, the gems get drowned out by the crap. When I look back though, there are maybe half a dozen enjoyable shows per year which isn't too bad really. You're just too close to the action to notice. Us old timers were around when we could barely watch 3 series per season for lack of subs and often the wrong things would get subbed so we'd miss out till years later IF they got an official release. You're all spoilt.
  16. I don't think kaigai tenso has any such restrictions http://kaigai-tenso.com/
  17. I hedge my bets by playing 2 concurrently. One nukige and one story based. I read the story based for as long as I enjoy it and if I feel the urge to see an H scene I'll put the story based one aside and load up the nukige which usually gives me what I need in under an hour. That said even the story based ones I will only play them if they have H in them as I feel empty if I do a long drawn out girl's route that I really like for there to not be an H scene somewhere, preferably close to the end. If they do have an H scene I'm much more happy to leave that girl's world and do another route or another VN entirely.
  18. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-09-22/visual-art-key-harmonia-kinetic-novel-trailer-reveals-english-release-on-friday/.106757 The game celebrates Key's 15th anniversary, and the theme of the game is "emotion." KAI (Clannad) planned the game, and Itaru Hinoue (Air, Clannad, Little Busters!) drew the original art and the character designs. KAI and Tsuzuru Nakamura were in charge of the game's scenario. Shinji Orito (Air, Clannad, Little Busters!) scored the music. Ayaka Kitazawa sang the opening song "Todoketai Melody," while Haruka Shimotsuki sang the ending theme song "Towa no Hoshi e."
  19. Nope, much prefer the ending they chose and the breathing in he did before speaking at the end which only hinted at more drama. There really is nothing wrong with a happy ending, even if it is just the end of the first season. Sick of inconclusive endings in anime. This is not chickening out IMO as anime with concentrated seasons played sparsely is absolutely a different medium to continuously released light novels or manga. If they ended on drama, by the time they get around to animating another season in years' time we'll have long since lost interest in said drama.
  20. Dmm japan will only sell you stuff if your IP address appears to be in Japan so many of us use proxies or VPNs in Japan to make us appear to be in Japan (stupid laws 'n shit that haven't caught up with the modern age.) Japan's big on the whole "for sale only inside Japan" thing due to its laws..
