My mom was always a big sci-fi fan so I grew up with shows like Babylon 5 and Star Trek. When I heard the news this morning it felt like a large chunk of the remaining vestiges of my childhood died. It's the first time since I turned 21 that I am tempted to buy alcohol.

Hello to all of you wonderful people
Soulless Watcher replied to Turnip Sensei's topic in Introduce Yourself
"Wonderful People" Hah, you sir don't know the community very well.... but you will. For better or for worse, welcome. -
Well, that's normal for any kickstarter it's just comparing with recent vn kickstarters like "But, I love you" and even "Lucy the eternity she wished for" it seems to be having issues with gaining any speed.

Stories with unpredictable love interest winning
Soulless Watcher replied to crunchytaco's topic in General Discussion
People keep saying that Shin Sekai Your was unpredictable, but I found it painfully obvious. The initial love interest almost never gets together with the protagonist. Then through process of elimination it becomes easy to tell who she will end up with. -
TRUE! C ALL THE WAY! Man, those exams were weird 4 questions worth 25 points each. Next person masturbated before they knew what masturbation was.

What is your most hated anime character?
Soulless Watcher replied to Igniz's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
It's kinda hard for me to decide what my most "hated" character would be, since there are the characters that you are suppose to hate and those you hate because of bad writing. I suppose Elfin Lied would be a heaven for all of my most hated anime characters. There are two types in that anime, the brain dead and the unrealistically violent. -
LOVE IT! I hope the flow of backers increases, seems to be a oddly slow kickstarter.

True (a advil overdose) Next person wouldn't play the last thing they watched in a public area (without earbuds of course)

I feel yeah on Chaos;Head I really wanted to like that VN, I love the ideas that they toss around, however I feel that they tried to do too much and prioritized quantity of quality. Anyways welcome to the forums, where most of us would like to promise that you will not be mentally molested, but harsh reality has taught us to not make promises we can not keep

VN Characters You Felt That Needed a Route
Soulless Watcher replied to atchikotchi's topic in Visual Novel Talk
It was originaly planned that she would have gotten a full route, but due to budget issues and time constraints she had to be taken out. I hear that they plan to add her route back in for the remake. Lets see I feel -Aoki Touji (cartagra) could have gotten a cool bad end, like Shugo asks for one favor too much and she pisses off the cops or the sect ending in a epic battle. -Yosomiya Tsuzuriko (Kara no Shoujo) I just want a ending in which she gets to live T.T -The side characters (Kikouyoku Senki Tenkuu no Yumina) I respect the genere change at the midpoint, but what was the point of getting to know all those sidecharacters if you are not going to use them? -Kiryuu Moeka (Steins;Gate) I think I heard that she had a route planned at the start of the project, but than some bull crap about players sympathizing too much with her came up.... I don't know, but that audio drama that recently was translated fills the slot pretty nicely. -
Looks like you got most of the common recommendations outa the way (by your vndb page). I got a handful of recomendations for ja. -Ayakashibito (Great if you like chunni vns) -Cartagra/Kara no Shoujo (If you are into dark mysteries and have a strong stomach) -Hoshizora (if you are into "club" slice of life with a side of fantasy)

False, I always found clowns a bit unerving. When I was a youngling I wanted to be a train conductor, than a paleontologist, than just something that paid decently. Next person has never confessed to their crush(es).

Stories with unpredictable love interest winning
Soulless Watcher replied to crunchytaco's topic in General Discussion
There has only been two times I've been genuinely surprised by a certain love interest winning over another and that would be Kokoro Connect and Legend of Korra. -
3.) Ayamine Kei (Muvluv ex/un/alt) 2.) Aoki Touji (Cartagra) 1.) Shiki Ryōgi (Kara no Kyoukai)

How long before Fuwanovel shuts down?
Soulless Watcher replied to periah250's topic in General Discussion
On my campus torrents don't work, so I've never used fuwanovel for the torrents. I come here for the vn news and the community that shares my interests. The talk about fuwanovel shutting down because the lack of torrents is really starting to upset me. Yes, while I can see why this can be frustrating since some visual novels can be very hard to "legally" obtain copies without a ridiculous prices tag (see tsukihime), this is a necessary step for bringing VNs into the mainstream market. Seriously what company would pay all the translation and localization fees when the main pre-established vn community already has access to their product. With the recent success of Sekai projects' kickstarters and Jasts' localization of Steins;Gate I feel that it is the perfect time to start shutting down torrents.
