  1. It's a similar problem that YouTube has, both platforms desperately want everything to be moderated for free and they keep trying to shove that work onto the customer/watcher. Honestly, you would think that both are being run by libertarians.
  2. Now that I had time to think about it, I can't see this working at all unless the price was at the very least a couple thousand dollars.
  3. As a long time follower of Jim Sterling I am very happy that steam greenlight is closing shop, seriously it turned steam into a massive fucking shit pile. As for the indie visual novel market, perhaps nutaku would be a alternative? I'm not too familiar with how hard it is to get on their storefront, but there are several low budget titles available on their website.
  4. I totally get you, I was never close to my grandmother on my father's side and pretty much never saw her until two thirds of my life had past. My siblings and my dad would visit her once in a blue moon and she seemed decent, except I could never understand a fucking word she said because her first language was Korean and she barely could speak English. Which stressed both of us out, since neither of us could understand what the other was saying. I learned later on that she wasn't the most stable person, she came from a life of poverty and my biological grandfather just kinda swooped in, knocked her up, than left. So, she had to raise my dad and his brother by herself, which if the drunken ramblings of my father are to be believed, involved screaming, bamboo beatings, and harsh punishments for trying to get a part time job to help feed the family. I did gather that recently, until she had a stroke which prevented her from moving very well, she would beat her and my er - (is step-grandpa a term? well anyways my dad's stepfathers') dogs and she still had a habit of screaming. Oh and apparently the reason I never saw her before my teenage years was because she was against my dad marrying a non-korean, so that was nice. Although she apparently did visit us a handful of times when I was super young and tried to make me take a bath in near boiling water, while my Mother wasn't paying attention. I still make the effort to tag along with the fam whenever they go to say hello at the retirement home she now resides at. I still don't really understand her and I don't think we could have ever been close, but she knows she doesn't have very much life to live and seeing her grandchildren is one of her few pleasures left. As much as I talk shit about not caring about other people, seeing the complex look of happiness and sadness on her face (since she doesn't know if this will be the last time she will see my family before she kicks the bucket) is quite gut wrenching........ although I wish she would stop complaining about my hair.
  5. Hey hey hey! Always good to see some productive fans of Japanese media around here. Read Muv Luv
  6. Well Sorcery Jokes is being translated by Mangagamer and is halfway translated and edited, so you could probably expect it near the end of this year if you are lucky. There seems to be no current unofficial patches in the works for any other games, so it is doubtful that there will be anytime soon. It is likely, the best you can hope for is that Mangagamer picks up another 3rd Eye title in a year or two (if lucky).
  7. That was probably part of the 20% of the dark web that Anonymous shut down.
  8. That awkward moment when you are just casually heading to the bathroom of the dorm and hear some very loud sex noises coming from one of the rooms. I genuinely couldn't tell if it was just porn or the actual article, but dear god did it sound wet.
  9. It's certainly more convoluted and messy then the original steins;gate and I can't really tell you exactly how each trigger effects the timeline, I imagine they might be going with the "blue butterfly" excuse for this one.
  10. I usually play VNs in windowed mode because I have a short attention span and tend to cycle between different programs on my laptop every few minutes.
  11. God is this depressing, I've had a policy of trying to ignore others opinions when it comes to anime since I find myself often at odds with the "casual fan" so I had not idea things were this "bad". I just binged watched the available episodes of Youjo Senki and was shocked by how fucking awesome it was, to hear that many disagree is a bit heart breaking. I can understand why Scum's wish and Masamune's Revenge are getting attention though, it's akin to focused tested shit that has resulted in the bland triple A gaming market and the spamming of remakes and reboots seen in Hollywood. Scum's wish follows the same line of logic that Erased and Another follows, in that simply having fucked up shit happen equals a mature and decent plot. It's the fucking white privileged kid cutting himself for attention. Masamune's Revenge follows the standard harem plot that we have seen a million times before, at least by going from the manga the obvious couple's relationship actually progresses and isn't kept in stasis for 100+ chapters.
  12. I know there was a team working on it a long time ago, but they never got anywhere meaningful with it and I'm pretty sure the project is dead.
  13. Hahahhahahah prepare for a hell of a bait and switch.
  14. Well I was thinking of this scene when I typed it, those crazy old timey movies.
  15. ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US
  16. I believe Chaos;Child is a likely title to receive official localization, I didn't expect YUNO though. Fingers crossed they don't use that gawd awful orb system in the remake.
  17. Started playing Digimon World Next Order. I always wanted to play the Digimon World Games, but I never got a PlayStation and they were not compatible with my play station 2. It's quite a different beast from Digimon Cyber Sleuth with it's "raising" mechanics being rather unwieldy and strange, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of things. Although the hardest thing to wrap my head around is how your Digimon die after several days and you have to raise them all over again. I suppose it's suppose to give it a kinda rouge-like feel and you do carry over some of your stat increases, but it is hard to normalize that in my head.
  18. I just binge watching all of the available episodes of 3-Gatsu No Lion and at first I was pleasantly surprised, however I started noticing a major flaw in the overall plot of the show.
  19. Kingdom Hearts 1-2 are among my favorite games of all time, however I fear that the series have gotten insanely convoluted. Seriously the only way to have had the entire story was to be white enough to own all of the fucking gaming platforms.
  20. I made the mistake of buying a psn code on Amazon to prepare for Digimon World Next Order this midnight. For some reason it's stuck on pending verification and I have no idea whether it is due to my bank or if it is a problem at Amazon. The fuckers don't even let you cancel a pending order so I can't just get my lazy ass to Walmart to buy a code.
  21. Da Capo 1 is a strange mix of boring mundanity and fucking insanity, it wasn't really designed to be "thought about". However I think, if I remember correctly, that is essentially it
  22. The only officially English localized visual novels that I am aware of on android are Mystic Messenger and Roomates, so you know it's obviously a home to some quality shit.
