Question about Da Capo and how long is Hoshizora no Memoria common route?

Hoshizora no Memoria:

How long is the common route? To be honest, I do not have much time at the moment so I can only read visual novel for few minutes (Maximum probably 20-30 minutes). Plus, the little sister is not helping at all. She is so annoying and I feel like want to skip every time she appear but I do not want to miss anything important in the story. I tried to like the little sister but I just can't... I tried... so hard... I cry so hard... in the end... it doesn't even matter... because I really hate her now.

Da Capo: 

Well, I feel like I should join the Da Capo train but the summary on VNDB do not says much. Can someone tell me about it more without spoiling the story?

Both were good. Both have a decent length common route. If you hate Chinami that much then perhaps you should give up on Hoshimemo because every route tells part of the story and the route order is enforced. She does get better in her own route tho imo. Da Capo focuses around a magical cherry tree that gives the characters magical abilities. Each character has different abilities that play a role in their routes. Da Capo 1 may be harder to get through, but it has key details in the history of the island and cherry tree for the trilogy. Da Capo 2 is much better in every way, but again, I still suggest reading Da Capo 1 first.

Hoshimemo's common route is fairly long, maybe around the 10 hour mark depending on how fast you read, so it will definitely require some time to be sunk into it. Not to mention it has an enforced playing order. If you want the true route you need to do every other route.

Regarding Da Capo. I've read it myself and, to be quite honest, there isn't really a great overarching plot in it (or at least I never got the impression that there was). They do start to build some lore (which is explored in later games) but it hardly ever matters in the first game outside of the sister's route. I would say to just go into it expecting your average highschool charage since that's honestly how most of the routes play out.

I actually stop/stall reading it because the little sister but ugh... I really like the twins and Mare, though. Maybe I should man up a bit and try to go through it a bit more... but if it get worse then I might drop it for good and try Da Capo instead.

Just skip both, I would say, hoshizora has not the best TL and is getting re-translated at the moment.. so why not wait for that and DC is just.. yeah what is it... a moege..

If you like the twins, just do Komomo's route. Kosame's route is literally the same exact story but from Kosame's perspective (and Komomo > Kosame)

If you really want Mare though, you'll have to plow through all the other routes, and that includes Chinami's route. Granted Chinami is much more interesting in it.

I want to say you can just grab a 100% save file but that would kind of take away from some of the experience (namely the part where you branch out to Mare's path which is closely tied to another route).

Is Mare's "route" even worth all that work?  I was massively disappointed in it, as it was incredibly short and didn't even really seem to have a point to it, other than loli porn.

@CCM, I second the opinion that you shouldn't read Hoshimemo until the new TL is out.  Quite frankly, it has a meh TL and is full of random memes, even with the dolphins removed.  There's not much point in the fan TL once the official release is out, unless SP doesn't release an 18+ version.

Da Capo was one of the first titles translated by MangaGamer.  In other words, it's translation is terrible.

Well, I like to read slowly, so HoshiMemo common route took me 22 hours to complete the first time.

I also wanted to commit Sudoku when reading the Chinami scenes, but the amount of them does decrease after they finish moving (though they don't ever go away completely in the common route).

I do not know Japanese at all so, I do not know if the Hishozora fan TL is bad or not but I still can understand the story and what they saying at least.

The VNDB says it only 67% translated so, it going to be a while for it to be finish translated. Plus, I do not see Sekai Project mention anything about Hoshizora recently.

Ugh... if I need to play Chinami's route in order get Mare's route then I might just play Kosome's route. I really really really do not want to spend my time with Chinami and go insane. I do not need to do other route in order to get Kosome's route, right?

Correct. There are 3 routes you can do from the get go: Asuho, Komomo and Aoi.

Doing Komomo's route will unlock Kosame's route
Doing Aoi's route will unlock Chinami's route
Doing all the above routes will unlock the secret heroine route
Doing the secret heroine route will unlock Mare's route.

Jeez wolly donkey... the effort I need to do just to get Mare's route. I do not have interest in the other girls so I going to do Komomo's*** route.

By the way, when I say Kosome (= Kosame+Komomo) on that reply above. I actually mean Komomo. I keep mix the twins name. Why must their name be almost the same. Dx

The existing translation is pretty abominable so you should probably just wait 3-4 months for the new one.

If you're not having much time right now, I recommend you to skip the D.C.I

I doesn't mean that D.C.I is bad(I'm totally in love with this series, I can remember all heroine name and their backstory both D.C.I and II) but I'm afraid that D.C.I alone without D.C.II won't be great as some legendary game such like F/SN,Clanned and might ruin your expectation

if you're not looking forward to D.C.II and having tight time schedule, you better skip it for now but if you still want to try it out I recommend 3 heroine that you should finish

1.Nemu(Cannon of the game, her route is only inferior to Miharu's but she's the True heroine so you should try her out)

2.Sakura(Key of the game, not the best girl or the best route but she plays a very important role in D.C. series. SHE'S THE BEST GIRL IN D.C.II and the reason I'm really looking forward to D.C.III.)

3.Miharu(Best girl, her route is full of dramas and your tear)

after finishing the D.C. you better grab D.C.II and finish the D.C.II Sakura route ASAP, I can guarantee that it'll worth your time
