I looked into it a bit as well and it seems like there are some added scenes and CGs in this version, so that should definitely make up for any censored content, to the point where I'm deliberating rereading the VN myself. It's one of my personal favorites, but the h-scenes were awful and way too long (and this was back in the days when I used to sit through the entire scenes to make sure I didn't miss anything plot-related). We're talking a huge time investment though, so I dunno when I'd find the time, considering my current backlog and all the other stuff that's being released.

I'm almost finishing Flowers 3 after reading it non-stop for a week after months stalling. I'm glad I did, because the story is so enjoyable, well written and engaging. The romance flows naturally and the mysteries actually made me interested in what was going on. I'm pretty excited for Flowers 4 [come on, Jast, release it already!]

That said, I just bought a fan-favorite on Steam - yeah, Steam! because from what I researched, for me it is the best version - Fruit of Grisaia! Unless something major happens, such as Reflection Blue being completed, I'll read Grisaia next. Do you have a recommended route order? Or should I go blind?

Yeah, I haven't tried it myself, but the improvement might not be that significant on a 1080p monitor. I usually play on my TV, meaning large screen and 4K, and the upscaling works wonders then. I'm especially glad I don't have to put up with blurry text anymore!

Silvz reacted to bakauchuujin in List of VNs with official english release
I made this list almost 3 and a half years ago, making this list and maintaining it has taken a fair amount of effort, but for the most part I thought it wasn't too bad and updating it gave me a good insight into how scores on vndb would change after english releases and in general just a good overview of the official publishers of visual novels in english. However the last few months I really kind of stopped caring that much for this list and updating it became more of a chore.
One reason is probably that I have been at this for quite a while about 3 and a half year is a fairly long time, the other being improvements to the visual novel database search functions, I recently made a video about these search functions and honestly I don't see the point in this list anymore. Especially now that you can search for producer/publisher on vndb and get things properly sorted rather than before where you could just get a chronological order of what they released.

Because of this I plan to stop updating this list, I will do my last updates for it this weekend, but after that I probably won't do further updates. I still see a point in the one for physical releases though and that takes way less effort so I will maintain that one.

Well you shouldn't expect much of Musicus would be like Bokuten, because in Bokuten we'll going to have the MC playing cupid for some couple and them he has some romance with soap opera drama while for Musicus here we'll going to see on how the MC grow up when he formed a band after he was told to do that by the leader of a well known band. So yeah Musicus here is quite story oriented, and the story is the growth of the MC along with on how he'll lead the band. Have fun with whichever VN that you read first.
PS - As for Kira Kira and Musicus comparison, Kira Kira is more lighthearted than Musicus because Kira Kira here is about high school band do some journey across Japan and that they're just do it for a while, while for Musicus we'll see on how adult band struggling because the bad here is their profession in that they'll need more passion to run it compared to the high school band that Kira Kira show.

As for the recent translated VNs that might be fit your taste, there's Ryuusei Would Actor, Iwaihime (Just expect this as watered down Higurashi instead of expect that Ryukishi can keep up his standard), Gekkou no Carnevale, Robotic Notes, Kirikoi (Most of the time it has comedy like Yuzusoft VNs though), and Musicus. If you're willing to wait for a bit, then there'll be Muramasa that JAST released at 24th later. I don't know if you're already read some of those or not, but I hope that my recommendations here can be helpful to you.

Good morning good people of Fuwa! As the person that is keeping the main site slightly less dead than it could've been, I decided I could use a space to post about new content without making new threads every time. Here I (or possibly other authors) will post updates whenever something goes up on Fuwa's frontpage – feel free to comment & discuss.
This weekend I published a review of ebi hime's The Mermaid of Zennor, a very interesting and very angsty psychological drama VN. Consider checking it out and leaving your impressions here or in the comments under the article!

It's not. I believe it's with Nekonyan. As for your question, specifically, there was a leak of the official tl, so you can play it if you want...

I kind of feel like playing on impulse and just dicking around, it is not something like F/SN where I already knew all of the endings.
That's what I was thinking, hope I am not doing myself a disservice by listening to you.
I already started it without one so I guess I will just stick it out. Oshawott is my favorite Unova Pokemon lol

The game I wished for last year (and several years before that) got licensed and turned out to be a pile of garbage.
Honestly, I'll probably just vote for some random VNs from my wishlist I know nothing about, or just skip this year altogether.

Euphoria and Higurashi don't have anything in common... Higurashi is way more focused on psychological horror, while Euphoria is exactly what you'd expect [tho with great story]. Also there is a ton of SoL cutsy stuff in Higu, so you'll be fine. The og anime made Higurashi sound way worse than it actually is!
That said, Umineko is better! But I do recommend reading them in order so you can enjoy some of Umi's twists and references

    Congratulations, you played yourself
But, jokes aside, I'm also looking forward to the sequel Luckily, for this VN I managed to go spoiler-free. BTW I think that weird character limit for protagonist's name is there because developers couldn't be bothered to properly adapt the system from the Japanese version for English release - in Japanese number of characters would be enough for almost any possible name, when writing in kanji.
BTW I have to ask - if I enjoyed this VN, would I be okay with Higurashi? (I'm almost 100% sure that Subahibi is a no-go for me, but Higurashi doesn't seem so fucked-up based on reviews)

Yes it is, no doubts about it

Well, for your first and third request, you could go with Summer Pockets [or wait for Reflection Blue to be translated, which has more routes and content]. Keep in mind that SP has a ton of supernatural, tho, as any other Key novel.
