  1. Welcome, friend, you seem to have a very good taste in VNs and I'm very curious about the opinion you might bring to the table, so feel encouraged to work through that shyness. That is, I think, a pretty widespread and chronic affliction around here.
  2. Welcome, welcome! Feel encouraged to post beyond moral support for you favorite translation project, although that is also very much appreciated! *goes back to drinking*
  3. Confession: I've had some pretty nasty two weeks because of family issues, but life decided that it wasn't clear enough with it's stance on my humble person, so today my cat died. My girlfriend make an observation that this seems like a good day to get drunk together and I honestly don't see any holes in that logic. I'm drinking to you guys then! 乾杯!
  4. Make your Steam library private. I don't think that many people will pry and you should know how to respond to each of them if they do.
  5. Now I think of it, I'm not sure if I've ever seen much of tasteful/meaningful depictions of f/f romance in series that weren't straight-up shoujo-ai - usually even if it's not just plain fanservice or ship-baiting, it's done weirdly IMO (just like when New Game creates an obvious lesbian subplot but pretty much never goes anywhere with it). Another reason to avoid Comic Girls I guess, still have to really high-quality moe shows from previous seasons to catch up with. ;p And a bit OT, but I'm slowly watching through Flip Flappers and I think this show is even not widely considered a yuri, but have one of the most charming and subtle f/f relationships I've ever seen in anime. I wish more shows could do something similar, although that series, in general, is far from being standard in most ways. And well, even if it's not tagged as shoujo-ai in many places, it gives the viewer some pretty strong clues:
  6. Oh, I definitely wouldn't mind, I think @HELYEES wouldn't either?
  7. Good news everyone! I have an immense pleasure to announce that the important challenge outlined in the first post of this thread was taken up by the amazing @HELYEES. At the same time, I want to make clear that it is NOT any kind of bribe connected to the upcoming Panzer Hearts review. My opinions stay completely unbiased and pure, like an otome protagonist in the prologue chapter. And I will stay by this claim even if presented with evidence to the contrary. Now, behold! Once more, huge thanks to @HELYEES for making this absurd idea come through, I hope I'll be able to make use of those pretty soon (definitely not for Panzer Hearts though).
  8. Oh yeah, I definitely don't believe in taboo topics, everything is a fair game when it goes to storytelling - you would have to be a prude or an idiot to say that depictions of rape are a bad thing regardless of the context. I'm just really grossed out by turning certain themes into straight-up fap material, especially if a part of the player's fantasy and agency - even in games like Euphoria or Maggot Baits guro and rape might be constant elements (and people might fap to them), but they're not really your goals as the player. Everything centered around fetishized rape and encouraging it with its narrative can burn in hell. EDIT: And to not be completely off-topic, Monmusu is indeed the most unimaginative idle game I've seen to date. It makes Crush Crush look like a deep and engaging video game.
  9. Monster Girls are capable of giving consent... Kinda... These are more like familiars thought? Still, I can accept pretty much everything that isn't rape porn (understood as depictions of rape that are there solely for fapping purposes). ;p
  10. "Rapist protagonist", "ranked #284 with a rating of 7.33"... I... I suddenly feel a strong impulse to disassociate myself from the VN fandom.
  11. Ok, I guess having sex with the horse parts doesn't come out as weird in the VN fandom.
  12. So, this game is exactly as much of a mindless cash grab as I've expected? That centaur girl though, she gives all kind of flashbacks from my days of researching MLP porn. I wonder how they handled the h-scenes, the bestiality vibes here are real.
  13. I've just finished reading (well, watching a playthrough really, but it's a KN so there's not much difference) of Tales of Talia: Arcadia, the Winged Cloud's "dark fantasy" VN and My F***** God, I think the average Sonic the Hedgehog erotic fanfiction is written better than that piece of crap. Really, how can a studio that made 20+ games already, including a decent dungeon crawler be this inept at crafting a story? How can you be tone-deaf enough to inject 5 minutes of idle dialogue in the middle of a fight with a freakin' dragon? This would be disturbingly bad as a free Yuri Game Jam VN, but as an actual commercial product...
  14. Thank you for your consideration. I actually have some go-to fan artists that I can turn to if necessary, so I'm not without options. I just took this opportunity to reach out to the community a bit and also get some feeback on the idea itself (I take the intensity of the shit-puns as a positive reaction... Of sorts. ;p). It would be much less fun to just commission it quietly from someone on deviantART.
  15. As I haven't seen the original Steins;Gate anime (or read the VN) and I'm avoiding 0, I'm now pretty sure that Hinamatsuri will be my anime of the season. Such an original, genuinely funny show - I love how the humour and the general plot is very much down-to-earth and relatable in a way. Even with all the supernatural elements it's all about the characters and their everyday lives and it's absolutely charming at that. I don't think I had this much fun with a SoL series since Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.
  16. Visual novels with the possibility to choose the protagonist’s gender are fairly rare, and genre's focus on storytelling and romance makes such a gimmick especially hard to pull off properly. Creating games like Loren: The Amazon Princess, with an option to choose between two full-fledged leads, one male and one female, each with their own personality and a set of romance options, takes a lot of work and only fits certain kinds of stories. On the other hand, VNs in which gender choice only changes minor details in the dialogue and the overall storyline struggle to make the narrative convincing – especially in the female version, which more often than not comes as an afterthought, created by slightly modifying the default, male scenario. Razzart Visual, the author behind highly-regarded yuri VNs Love Ribbon and Starlight Vega, is also the person responsible for two much less critically-acclaimed ecchi games, both of which featured female love interests and the ability to choose protagonist’s gender, making them in a way both classical romance VNs and yuriges. On May 4th 2018, Razzart's third game in this formula, Wolf Tails, was released on Steam, featuring romance scenario with a rarely-seen kemonomimi variant, that is wolfgirls, and a new artstyle. How does it compare to Razz’s previous projects and does it succeed in working both as a traditional eroge, and as a yuri game? Read the full article at evnchronicles.blogspot.com
  17. Does the game come with unlocked CGs/saves that are deep into the game? That's a pretty amusing mistake IMO and I'm not that surprised that it would happen to a fresh company like NekoNyan, but it can also be pretty bad if the game basically downloads 40% completed or something like that.
  18. Welcome to Fuwa! I'm also curious what you exactly mean when you say that fan translation influenced your life to such a degree.
  19. I sometimes read VNs on my tablet, but most of the time I read them at home and on PC, both because I don't have a handheld console and because getting VNs on Steam is the cheapest way. I've also more or less stopped playing games other than VNs a while ago, so I don't have a problem with them losing the competition (although they do sometimes lose to watching various crap on YouTube).
  20. they-buy-during-steam-sales-and-they-rea

This is about all the fans of Winged Cloud. And about me, I guess...

  21. The price is pretty much always "a lot", especially from the Eastern-European perspective. :> This would be a pretty minor commission though and I don't really need it made in super-proffessional quality, so I've decided for this little crowdsourcing effort. :3 And sadly, as much as the righteous cause of exposing the Western audiences to the glory of Musumaker is close to might heart, I'm currently not in possession of any JP-ENG translator or editor slaves I could delegate to your project. If I aquire any I will gladly exchange them for crappy artwork. ^^
  22. 1000 posts!

    ...

    Yay? :nico:

    1. Mr Poltroon

      Mr Poltroon

These new people always manage to get so many posts in. It's astonishing.
@tymmur's probably going up fast as well.

      I couldn't possibly keep up.

One day we'll catch up to you, old man. You just wait and see...

@Nosebleed, however, might be out of reach for any sane person, even if we would expect Fuwa to exist into perpetuity... :michiru:
