  1. huke's art is freaking awesome. You shouldn't even ask and play the original. If you want the anime art, just watch the anime.
  2. Uni cafeterias in Japan are amazing. It's freaking cheap, delicious, and you can eat your fill. Now each time I eat at a Japanese restaurant in France I feel ripped off for how expensive it is considering the quantity we get... There was a karaage shop next to my uni too, and you could eat a BIG and delicious bento (good portion of rice, shredded cabbage, 6 pieces of karaage and a delicious sauce) for 300 yens. I really miss that shop.
  3. So, finally read Harumade, Kururu. Man, what a disappointment. I had really high expectations because of all the praises, so it adds to the disappointment. Though the comedy is kinda fine, pacing is terrible and characters are meh, so it's kind of a pain to even reach the few good parts of the VN, which contrary to all the praises, are really few (the interesting science talk is like 1/5 of the entire thing). The only real good part was Akio's for me, because it's the only character I kinda really liked, and the mystery ambiance was nice. So yeah, even if most people say that Natsukumo Yururu is better than this one (notably the pacing), I'm really not in the mood the read it now, so will have to wait. By the way, despite my ranting, I'd say it's overall still not a bad VN, and if you like the characters it'll make it better, so I'd still kinda recommend it. Now I'm not in the mood for VNs anymore, so guess it's time to read some LNs.
  4. Didn't play VNs in a while, so decided that March would be my VN month. Kin'iro Loveriche + FD Don't think it's good enough to be VN of the year, but I did enjoy it. Mainly the characters, loved all of them, but particulary Reina and Ria for their interactions with Ouro (and I love characters who talk like that) I really liked the principle of "showing off", it's pretty relatable. Anyway, not amazing, but enjoyable VN (+FD) Suisei Ginka Kinda disappointed. It's not bad, just didn't really find it good. Hikari no Umi no Apeiria + FD Biggest suprise. Loved it. End is half-baked so it fall short being perfect (well, I guess it wouldn't even if the end was better) but still loved it. It's been a while something made me so into it I lost many hours of sleep. Fd was kinda meh because I wasn't interested in the two heroines, but still had nice scenes. (and it's the first time I saw a true love triangle, where each character actually love each other, and not just the guy. Here each one love the other two) Tojita Sekai no Tori Colony Utterly disappointed. It has some good moments, but it felt like a big waste of time. Thought I'd have the time before going to uni, but I'm already late, so even if I basically didn't write much, this will do.
  5. More games than VNs, but you didn't play the Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban series, what are you waiting for? (though that's more than 6 if you play the spin offs, it's just the right number if you play the main series)
  6. Hmm, finished the original VN today and started the FD, but, is it me or the voices were recorded differently? Or it's a problem on my side?
  7. Seto no Hanayome Grand Blue Love & Collage (Ai Kora, manga only) Baka Test
  8. Wait, what!? There is something more if you play Eris' route twice!? *looks at seiya-saiga* T-that's true... Oh well, I really liked this series (mainly Aki), so I planned to reread them one day, so I hope I won't forget to read it twice then. Also, you didn't talk about Shizuku's bonus. (though I guess nothing much happens in it)
  9. Well, Miyabi's route (and Tonoko and Shino too I guess) are done, so you basically have nothing else to do, no?
  10. No, the MC in the Uso series can see lies, so he doesn't like them and he never lies, so he's always direct with what he wants to say.
  11. No, just Alternative, not both. Muv Luv took me around 20+ hours, I think. Also, looking at EGS, the average (and median) play time is 40 hours, so it's actually not that fast.
  12. Wow... Could it be I am actually a fast reader? Always thought I was slow because English isn't my native language (+ I'm French :p), and I have a friend who can read books that take me 4-5 hours in an hour. I know reading isn't a competition, but the faster you read the more you can read, so quite glad if this is the case. (though now I rarely read in English, mainly in Japanese, so I would rather improve my speed in Japanese)
  13. I did my maths. Started Thursday around 8pm until around 2am. (6) Had classes, so only started around 5pm to around 3am on Friday. (10) Then from 11am to 1am on Saturday. (14) And finally from 11am to 10pm on Sunday. (11) So 6+10+14+11=41. But of course I ate and did other things on the side, so you can at least remove 2 or 3 hours (but most likely more than that), rounding the total time at around 38 hours. So yeah, how the hell is this considered 50+ hours?
  14. Finally read Muv Luv and Alternative (which I don't understand why it's marked as 50+ hours when it's like 30+ hours, and I'm not really a fast reader). So, my overall disappointment for what many people overhyped aside, let's talk about the best point of both VNs: Sprite gimmicks. This is the most freaking amazing usage of the sprites I ever saw in a VN (well, not like I read that many anyway). Lips and eyes aside, the way the characters change expression and move during the conversation is good. The fact that they actually change their direction depending on who they talk to. The fact the characters you don't talk to also change their expression and even move in the background. The usage of the depth of the background. How cute Kasumi is when her rabbit ears move with a sfx. All these sprite gimmicks make the overall experience so alive and so much better that all the VNs I read so far (minus Bladr Sky, which is amazing in a different sense) feel like shit. And from now on the still sprites I'll see in all the VNs I'll read will feel really stale. I didn't read that much discussions about Muv luv, so I don't know if it's actually praised along the story and all, but I feel like it should be, because to me it's the most stand out point of the VNs and the only thing that actually left an impression on me.
  15. Same, though I prefer spring IRL, autumn in VN is quite nice. I like the tone of the colours, the atmosphere as well as the passage from summer to winter clothes/uniform.
  16. Yuki from Lovesick Puppies -Bokura wa Koi Suru Tame ni Umaretekita- is pretty good.
  17. Not really following anything since I played them in Japanese. I hope people won't be too disappointed with DGS 1 (which is good, but rather meh compared to other AA), and will like DGS 2 which is pretty good.
  18. You can either tell the truth, or test the water a little using a friend. Say that a friend plays VNs (explaining what it is) and from what he says it seems pretty interesting and you want to read some too and try. You can even try to interest her with some Otome VNs (if she can read English, as we both know how most French are ^^') saying said friend told there was some for guys and for girls too, to prove it's not just some perverted game, but something directed to both gender. But yeah, otherwise the truth is the best, but generally I'd think she'd know from the start. I mean, pretty much all my friends (so people I'm close to, male and female) know I play VNs and what it entails. I at least don't want to hide what I like to the people I'm close to.
  19. You don't need motivation to read, you're supposed to enjoy it. If you have to force yourself to continue, then just drop it. For example, I waited years for Clover Day's TL, but in the end, once I decided to read it in Japanese I dropped it after one route because I found it just meh. I don't have to force myself to read everything because I waited years and many people praise it. If I can't enjoy myself I'd rather read something else. On the other end, reading Baldr Sky Dive (2) right now, around 80+ hours in and I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, so I can read non-stop. To finish, yeah you might miss something by dropping it because perhaps you'd come to like it later after struggling a little, but if you're reading something else you enjoy instead, the end result is the same. You read to have a great time, it's not a duty, so as long as you're enjoying yourself it doesn't matter what you read.
