I agree with a lot, if not all of your suggestions. However, I don't know if you haven't seen these or didn't like them, but the following additions are musts in the complete romance (as primary or secondary theme) anime world IMO:
 
Cross Game
Nagi No Asukara
Planetes
Lovely Complex
Golden Time
 
These all pass the test of "my wife liked them too". I can't stand shows that are stuck in a time warp with no ending or ones where the ending is ultimately unsatisfying. There really is nothing wrong with a happy ending.

In the bottom left corner is a button which lets you choose between different themes. Don't know if that helps.
I got the standard theme set up and it doesn't seem slower to me than before.

Thanks! I'll have a play with them. My theme was set to temporal - by the way I'm on a 4k monitor with 140dpi scaling so perhaps the issue only shows up because of the massive scaling going on at that resolution, though other sites never have this problem (and my hardware is ridiculously OP so it's not a hardware issue).

The world god only knows. It gets better the further you go into the series. There have been a number of seasons now.

Agreed. Ironically the anime was much better because it just condensed down the little bit of the story that actually did have progress which is why I've recommended it. Those parts have delicious suggestiveness in them. The manga has the worst progression ever beyond what was portrayed in the anime - that being "none", followed with the least satisfying "ending" in history.

The grimdark dystopian future is finally here, but it's not nearly as rad as we all thought it would be. Instead of cyborgs, flying cars, and smokestacks perpetually shooting jets of fire, it's lawyers, impenetrable legal codes, and people being threatened with fines for having an opinion on the internet. 

Well I was waiting for Astro to update this thread but I may as well post myself since he hasn't in a while, though he did update the website.
 
I've joined this project as a translator and so far have "signed up" to do Tsubame's route.
 
I'm already about 40% of the way through it and I gotta say, she's blowing my mind. It'll probably only take me 3 months to get through her entire route since it's so enjoyable.

Aren't the admins nice? They went as far as to update the entire IPB just for you. The issue is now solved!

So I can say I always prefer to play VN with h-scenes (since it started long time ago, with old games from PC-98 like Three Sisters Story, Nocturnal Illusion, Divi-Dead and stuff like that, which had quite a bit of h-scenes). Maybe it is just me, but really, playing for 50 hours, reading tons of things about affections/puns about sex/etc. and do not seeing any sex at all (perfect example is that Chaos;Head) is utterly boring.
 
H-scenes give at least some relief to the long and boring story (like Ever17 which was truly repetitve as hell and h-scenes along that 30-hours repetitive marathon would help. But no luck) and indeed, how much stories are really that great? Not much, I would say, and at least 40 or even more % of their charm they get from graphic side. So by removing h-scenes you just make less appeal, as part of charm disappears.
 
And I do not like myself that latest tendency having very long scenes with lot of "sluuuurps".and stuff. I like the old type of h-scenes, where there is 1-2 images and dunno, 10-15 phrases, not that usual detailed description about who, where and how much times did So scenes like in Yu-No, Divi-Dead and other oldies - most preferable.
