  1. Master Magistrate is the murder mystery detective visual novel set in the late years of Japan's Edo Period. Developed by the indie studio Irodori and released in the year of 2017, it quickly attained popularity and became a hit amongst Japanese fans. They praised the great direction sense, well-crafted scenario, immersive atmosphere, and fascinating soundtrack, amongst other aspects. Hobibox have attained publishing rights for the Chinese and English versions of the game, wishing to bring this experience overseas. They have committed themselves to provide a high-quality product, hoping to turn a new leaf and redeem themselves for not so fruitful past endeavors. Oh! what a coincidence i got smitten by Idol girl Michiru some time ago. She is quite something, isn't she. Just right 4 mad scientist! Well, we'll just have to see about that, won't we. Chiru-chiru is an alien too, y'know~

Another person that is into VN BGM! I like! My favorite BGM generally comes from the Grisaia series, the Muv-Luv series, and Clannad. Aokana seems to have some really good music too... As for Aliens ...... I think the truth of that will be publicly disclosed within 2 years (seems steps are already been taken to prepare the masses for such a disclosure). We just have to wait for the Deepstate vs Alliance covert war to conclude. At least that's the impression I'm getting... Anyways, enjoy your stay here.

  7. The reason they get chosen for first projects is because they are the easiest to translate... and if you look at the actual percentage of FTLed VNs, plotge are more common, lol. It is only relatively recently that the percentage of moe-bait games has gone up, mostly because a lot of us vets advise new guys to do the easy stuff for their first projects. The reason official localizations these days tend to be almost all moege is pretty straightforward... it is easy to get the companies to agree to their localization (little or no problematic content, faster localization=faster profits, etc), it takes less time and a less annoying/expensive/arrogant translator to get the job done, and cute is easy to sell, regardless of content. At the same time, the limitation of this approach is that there is a much smaller fanbase for pure SOL content over here than in Japan, so it is a lot easier to saturate the market if they localize too many at one time.

I was skeptical about the alien part at first, but this convinced me. ^^ Welcome to Fuwa, extraterrestrial!

  9. pleasantly surprised by the demo so far as its concept & overall theme seems to be well thought-through. as someone with DID myself this makes for a "wholesome" experience aka god is dead. best wishes on your endeavour, best of luck & just do your thing.

  10. Will just leave this here: I read this with @Zakamutt, and it was pretty fun for the both of us. It was entertaining enough to make for a pleasant evening. As you may be able to gauge from his response, he quite enjoyed it. The game is more serious than what it first might seem to be. I'd be interested in the full version but I wonder if the humor would stay as funny if the game were several hours long. The game becomes so self-referential that sometimes you can predict what's coming next. Just about as often as I have no idea what could come next, mind you. Aside from that, I'd like to point out a few issues (only like 4 sentences). For example, "for for", lay instead of lie (incorrect usage), the one line about the wincing door (feels slightly odd) and some other line that should've been in past tense (I think the verb was...remain?). Oh, and make sure to use em dash instead of en dash — it looks way better. I'd also considering toning down their usage, or they lose their oomph. God is dead but he left us this visual novel.

  11. I want to warn everyone who thinks about putting some VN OST as a wake up alarm - It isn't safe. For a long time I have been waking up with my favourite VN music, but I was devastated when my alarm rang yesterday. I had a dream about the cutest and most innocent girl I have ever met (much like Nagisa from Clannad). I met her about 9 years ago (year 2010), but I was separated from her a year after (and never saw her again), due to my family moving to another city. Not telling her how I feel is the single biggest regret of my life. (among many others) Some 3 or 4 years after being separated from her I realised that she liked me too. It's been more than 2 years since I last thought about her, but she came in my dream yesterday and then my alarm, (the song "Nagisa" from Clannad) played and I was still dreaming. Now my dream had that wonderful tear inducing OST and the girl in my dream just got further and further away with that OST in the background. I screamed her name, but she kept getting further and further away. At the end she disappeared, I woke up, the Nagisa song was still playing and that was the second saddest thing I have experienced. I was devastated for around 5 minutes. Then I decided to search for her profile on Facebook to see if she is doing well. I found her profile and I saw many photos in which she seems to be happy. Then I saw photos of her with a man who is apparently her boyfriend and in that moment, for the first time in my life, I felt that my heart had truly shattered. That was the saddest thing I have ever experienced. I am happy for her though. Moral of the story : If you don't want to destroy yourself - DON'T SET VN OST MUSIC AS AN ALARM!!! P.S. : It's been around 32 hours since then, but I haven't recovered yet, so bear in mind that I wrote that post under that influence.
