A VN with a "Yamato" protagonist

Is there a Vn out there with a protagonist like Yamato from Majikoi? He is not all that strong or anything but he is cool takes the lead has strength in his own way and does not just wishy washy go with the flow. I prefer something romantic comedy ish. If its funny and still has romance I will almost certainly love it. Super bonus points if there is a harem ending.

It's fine if it is not translated as long as the level of JP for it is not crazy high.

http://vndb.org/v10642  The protag in this one is what you want.  It might be a little too serious for you, though.

http://vndb.org/v776 This is a famous one, though, again, it is not a romantic comedy (though it is frequently amusing).

http://vndb.org/v4942 This is fairly close to what you want, in both areas.  It isn't Majkoi-like (because, frankly, only Minato-soft can do Minato-soft games), but it is romantic comedy.

http://vndb.org/v7773  Protag is great, but again it might be too serious for you.

http://vndb.org/v7636 Similar to but more comedic than Ruitomo.

Edit: One thing you should remember... only Minato-soft does that type of character dynamic (so far) so don't expect to be able to find anything like Majikoi's cast of characters elsewhere.

That last bit is very disheartening. The character ensemble from Minato-soft is just so beautiful. Very full of life and well balanced.  Other than breaking my dreams though, Thanks for the list.

I am actually going to try another of your recommendations right now too. Ichiban Janakya dame desu ka.

hmm Kotarou from Rewrite is like that, very weak but always does his best. I think it's what you want, right?

Hmmm, well acually yes and no. you see one of the things about Rewrite it that theirs more than one kotarou: in one route, hes a helpless weakling, in another hes an unbeatable bad-ass. For me its one of the charms of the game. But i can see why some people might not like it

i've read G-Senjou maou

maybe I should not to respond, but i like the protagonist like yamato too.,

if you have some VN look that, please give more in here

G is actually a bit dark for me

Well, I recently played world end economica ep 1 and the main character is the smart/ambitious type as well, quite good VN in my opinion.

I don't know if it was too late for this topic.

The protagonist is almost the same type as Yamato, with less network and more D.I.Y.

Story itself is romantic comedy in school setting with heavy drama arc and combat scene.

Japanese level isn't high too since I can understand most of the story.

Such protagonists are usually rare in Romantic Comedy and usually more on story-heavy games, and it is hard to find one that is cool but not too strong at the same time.

Applique's games generally have promising protagonists (though I only played 2 of their games), they are heavily story-oriented and not romantic-comedy-ish though:

Re;Birth Colony -Lost Azurite-

Tasogare no Sinsemilla

Others:

Hello Lady!

The protagonist is made of pure-win and hax (insanely strong) and is not just strong in terms of strength, but also everything else. Best protagonist in 2014 and gets first place in popularity poll for eroge, which is the first in history as far as I know.

Gleamgarden no Shoujo

The protagonist is a normal guy that is capable of supervising people with Esper powers, think about Touma without the Imagine Breaker. Of course, he is very cunning and intelligent as well. Be warned, the game has a pretty dark tone.

Kimi To Boku To Kishi no Hibi

This game's protagonist is the most similar to Yamato ie. he is not that strong but is willing to cheat, cunning and will resort to all sorts of methods for his goals. The game's premise is the most romcom-like among my examples though it still have a serious story behind it.

How about Akatsuki no Goei? The protagonist here might actually be a bit too proactive for what you're looking for, but man is it fun to read. :D Haven't seen such an overly badass protagonist in anything else yet.

The sequel to the VN gets pretty dark and serious, but the first VN is mostly just hilarious comedy with some more serious parts sprinkled in - but they definitely aren't the focus in this one. :)
