  3. Hi everyone, I'm yumi from pantsudev and we're working on a translation of the 2019 adult visual novel True Love's Lily Dyes Red 真愛の百合は赤く染まる Manakashi no Yuri wa Akaku Somaru https://vndb.org/v26232 Team Team: pantsudev - Discord - Homepage - Twitter Lead: @yumi Translators: yumi, @LuckyDaikon Editors: yumi, @nihilloligasan, girlrituals, Beau Programmer: yumi Contributors: @Zakamutt, @Funnerific Ex-members: BlackBane91 (TL), @aho (ED) Background The work started sometime in the spring of 2020, mostly due to happenstance. I was bored and started hacking around this nifty new VN I'd found. I developed my own tools and launcher/loader and started translating. Once it began to look somewhat promising, I announced my lone work here so that others wouldn't accidentally end up duplicating my efforts. Current State Since the start of the project, I've been fortunate to meet some fantastic, nice and helpful friends who've certainly helped take the project to another level. Progress has been sometimes sporadic, sometimes steadfast, yet always inevitable. I'm a busy person, but never abandon my projects. Last year (2021) was a bit quiet, but this year (2022) we've been happy to recruit THREE new awesome editors, and really picked up the pace again. I created custom collaboration tools that allow the others to work on the project without my involvement at all, greatly improving efficiency. A web-based translation editor allows everyone to translate, edit and comment on all the content in the game comfortably, and a custom app allows everyone to synchronize the latest changes from the shared web editor directly into the game on their computer. 2023-02-15: Still alive Still here, still going. You'd better believe it. Join our Discord. However: It seems that we'll now be recruiting one (1) capable extra-/emergency translator! We're no longer recruiting for new members. Thank you for your interest! 2022-05-25: Situation update! We're no longer recruiting editors. Thanks for your interest, and a warm welcome to nihilloligasan, girlrituals & Beau who recently joined the team! As an interesting aside, with aho and BlackBane91 having retired from the project last year, we're now a team of 5 girls. I swear it wasn't intentional. But slightly interesting, huh? 2022-05-25: Situation update! The project is roughly 50% done now - and we've doubled the translated line count within the last 5 months alone! The new TL & edit tools make for a much faster workflow, and all the programming and UI work is also pretty much done. Therefore I feel confident in stating that we're now moving at a much faster pace than at any point before. It's not going to take two more years. What else? Well, our previous YouTube account got nuked; you can subscribe to the new one here. Our Twitter account is @pantsu_dev should you care to follow. However, we are primarily active on Discord. Alright, cool! Anything else? Feel free to let us know what you think! Join our Discord or reply to this thread, or PM me with any questions. Thanks for reading!
  4. Trying to unpack a Black Lilith game using xmoe's KrKrextract, when I move the game exe to the program it produces link below error, occurs whether .dll and/or just exe in game folder or not. Uninstalling LE doesn't help. System is set to locale, Unicode box ticked. What to do? 2nd link is unclear on how exactly it was solved.
  5. So I was trying to extract the files from the game directory for this game - https://vndb.org/v19083 But when I extract the files from the circled ones, the texts that come up are garbled nonsense. I tried to switch to different encoding but the results remained the same. First of all I went into the game directory and extracted the contents of this file - Then I selected the CODE file to open thinking it will have the coding part - But all it showed was this blasphemy - Then I changed the encoding several times but the results were more or less the same - Does anyone have any idea, how can I hack the script for this game? Thanks for taking time to read this post.
  6. I was just wondering what's the whole process of starting a localization company. I was intrigued by the idea but searching on the net amounted to nothing. I would be very grateful if someone can explain me the process, especially in details.

Original Post ↓ Hello. I've decided to translate Saimin Yuugi, my favorite eroge. Well written hypnosis with Sayori's art? Holy shit, yes please. Really, nothing else compares. Now, I'm a solo, amateur translator, and I acknowledge we're an inherently unreliable lot. With that being said, I wouldn't be making this thread unless I was committed to finishing. Why make this thread? 1) On the off chance someone else is interested in translating, I'd love to have your help. No long-term commitment necessary. 2) If anyone is interested in editing my translated scripts (checking my grammar and watching for awkward descriptions or stilted dialogue), I'd love to have you. Also no long-term commitment necessary. 3) On the off off chance someone else was partway through translating this eight year old eroge, I may as well find out about it now before sinking too much more time into this. In short, I love this game and am asking for help to make the translation the best it can be. What have I already done? - Unpacking and repacking the game files is confirmed working with a partial patch tested both on my machine and others. - Maiya's route is 17% translated, which includes an introduction common to all routes. Not a lot, but it's only a week's worth of effort. I'm confident that this pace will let me finish without burning out. On that note however, my main goal for this project is the translation of Maiya's route. I think the completionist in me will make sure I see the project through to the end, but I expect significantly slower progress on the other routes. Especially Keika's. If you have questions feel free to ask.
  8. Hi there I'm trying to extract files from No, Thank You!!! game. Those files are .ypf files. I succeeded to extract some but, for some reasons, some others don't want to get extracted with arc_conv... And, now, I have many .ybn files and I don't know what to do with them... Can you help me please? I would like to translate this game so hard!
  9. Hi. I would like to translate Muv-Luv (Steam version) into my native language (polish). However, I can't get to the game archives. I tried different tools from the web, but they all didn't work with Steam version. Could someone help me get to them? Thanks in advance for help.
  10. I know nothing about game design, coding, programming, it Japanese, but I wanted to try my hand at translating a game to get better at all of the above. My problem is I don't even know where to start. I have the game, and the archive files are right there, but they arent in any format. They're just blank. I have no idea where to even start, if this is even the right place to start. Help? Or just a nudge? Anything is better than the blind fumbling I'm doing now.
  11. Otogelib is an otome game translations text library for all. Visit: https://otogelib.tumblr.com/ This project is made possible by [DC] @viethoagame.com (Hacking and Programming.) How it works: - It's a library of Japanese otome games texts in google sheet format, for you and/or your group to easily edit and translate. - All projects currently don't have any project leader. You can form a team to take the project or just contribute by translating things here and there as a hobby. Sample of a google spreadsheet: Link What makes it special: - All game texts from this library provided in google sheets format, so you can translate on the go with your mobile device. You can also view who are translating what in real-time, no longer to assign a script/scene to somebody, or translating things while afraid there are people working on it already. - You can save revisions and revert changes someone made if it's harmful. - There is a name table that syncs across all sheets, you only need to translate names of the characters once, and it will automatically sync across the whole file. You can: - Translate various Japanese otome games from the fully extracted game scripts provided in Google sheets format. Translate anywhere, anytime with a mobile device. - Freely post your part of the translations onto your blogs/websites. - Step up to take the project leader position for these projects. If you ever completed a project (either by yourself or by a group of people that you lead), you can request me to make a fan translation patch. Join the community and get edit access to the google spreadsheets: Apply as a translator: GoogleFrom Apply as a proofreader: GoogleForm Discord: https://discord.gg/GtGK9ZG Available google spreadsheets: STILL UPDATING, if you want any games to have spreadsheets (idea factory/otomate games only), you can request it And be sure to participate when the sheet you requested become available. 1. 12. I have just edited some scripts, and images out from the .dat file modify them, and create a patch.dat or patch8.dat file, and I opened it. It doesn't work, can you tell why?, I was wondering if this is the same method as Kirikiri, and I dunno what Source Engine is the game "Niizuma Lovely x Cation". It might soon I will be creating a translation project for the Hibiki Work's VN.
  13. I am trying to edit some images in kirikiri file for translation, I just successfully convert the .tlg to any image like .bmp .png and .jpeg/.jpg, but after editing I don't know how to convert it back, I try to search on google but nothing shows, so If anything you can help just post in the comment, I'm trying to Translate the game PRETTY X CATION, tnx in advance
  14. Hey guys, So after seeing how big Tasogare no Sinsemilla is, I decided that it may be better to train in the mountains with much, much shorter VNs first. I want to see if I can tackle Summer Surprise, which runs on the Artemis Engine. I'm able to extract the resources and edit the scripts, but how do I repackage it into the root.pfs.xx archive? I've looked around, and there aren't very many resources for the Artemis Engine, and GARbro doesn't create those archives. Thanks for any help and advice you can provide!
  15. Hello, I decided to perhaps try my hand at translation after reading several untranslated VNs. I added the "tl project" and "recruiting" tags, since I hope to turn this into a project. I've tried using various xp3 tools and even GARbro, but there seems to be some encryption I can't figure out. Games made by the same developer before and after this game released do have encryption schemes in GARbro. Could someone lend me a hand at extracting the scripts? Thank you! Oh, and here's a download link for my xp3 file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HSQwMDiMJj96CAAMZCGEQ3SCspKPuARu/view?usp=sharing

Hello, recently I discovered the solution to a problem that did not allow me to repackage the .pak files of Discipline, in which the dialogues of the game were found. The question is that in the absence of time I would like to know if the Latin community of the forum would be interested in contributing to be able to translate the VN because it is too long for a single person to finish it, and more if she is busy doing other things such as studying or working . If anyone is interested in participating, just say it and pass the corresponding files and software to be able to translate. Screenshot del proyecto: http://imgbox.com/NNIN3s8h

  21. Hello everyone, I am very new to Visual Novel Reader but there is a visual novel I have wanted to play for years and I finally got my hands on a copy. I know there are plenty of others out there who would enjoy it as well and so, seeing as I'm consulting my Japanese dictionary every two seconds anyway, I thought I'd use the 'subtitle' feature in VNR to translate it for people. However I'm not sure how to get it to work properly. Everything is working fine up until the first choice, then it's like the text forgets it needs to branch out and either doesn't appear, or appears at the wrong place. Am I doing something wrong? And is it easier to do the translation via VNR's soft subs? Or would making an entire English patch be better? But I'm very new and not technical at all so while I could do the translation, I have no idea where to even begin with patching it and making sure everything goes in the right place. Please help! :3 animeXalchemist
  22. Finally we have HatsuKoi append patch finished here, and it mean that the time for Hoshiori project to begin has come. For the premise itself, we have the MC whose an improvement version of HatsuKoi's Yuuma, and more importantly the MC in question (Ryousuke) was come back to his hometown after seven years had been away from it. Other than Ryousuke himself is the improvement from Yuuma, tone work was also starting their trademark in this VN in which the trademark is their long writing in regard of the development, so obviously we'll gonna have a lot of lines (Around 200,000 lines). Also it's important to note that star will be the major theme in one of the route considering that we have 'Hoshi' in the title (That one route only will be obviously better than the whole localized Miagete, because it'll be uncensored lol), and the whole theme of Hoshiori is the dream for the future (Yume Mirai part) in which it'll depict the characters going forward to their future. Anyway, I'd been looking forward to this and obviously I'll be waiting until the route order announced at Tsurezure later. So feel free to discuss about the project here, although I'll mostly use this thread for reporting the progress though.
  23. Id like to know what route everybody would like to see translated first. Information about progress can be found here Hikari has been selected as the first route to translate
