Cool, let me check it out tonight ! By the way, I saw the Android APK build, and if there is an iOS version as well that would be amazing. I want to read it on my iPad (>w<)/. -

Looking for 80s/90s style visual novel illustrations
InvertMouse replied to InvertMouse's topic in Creative Corner
Thanks for the responses folks ! I am actually working on something that includes a bit of throwback graphics, but it will not look like that for the entire game *hides /(>w<)\*. Accuracy wise, I won't be demanding a perfect replica of those games you guys have shared. So long as it gives the retro vibe, I am okay with it. Thanks! -
Hello there . Hope you are doing well. I am looking for an artist who can mimic the style of visual novels from the 80s and 90s. Something like: It will be paid work. If anyone is interested, please let me know via a reply here or a direct message. Some samples would be preferred though I understand it might be an unusual style. Thank you!

Many years ago, I saw Aselia's physical copy at a convention but ended up not getting it. Always kind of wished I did, and now I have a chance to check it out !

Ever since Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Curry God, I have grown interested in this roguelike genre, and this game looks cute, so I am in for sure ... oh it is based off a hentai game XD?... The Steam page looks so clean~ I know it needs to, but still.

Yeah, it is pretty subjective to begin with. People's idea on melodrama can change as time passes as well. When I was a student, I loved certain stories that I now think back and feel a bit ugh. There is a scene from the K-On movie that I did appreciate: LinovaA, it is interesting to hear you like melodrama ! I have never thought of it from that perspective before. When people discuss melodrama it is usually in a bad light, so you gave me something new to think about there .

Melodrama for me is when: Writer: You need to cry here so my fans will feel the emotions. Character: But I am not even feeling that upset here. Writer: Listen, you. I am the writer and I drive this story, you hear? Character: Okay...........

The Decline of Reading in Relation to VNs
InvertMouse replied to Heizei_koukousei's topic in Visual Novel Talk
This so much from me as well . I have recently realized just how fun it is to read on my iPad in bed with the lights off. Immediately, I hoped onto the App Store to see what was available, but the selection was pretty limited. Also, I really must say something. Despite our greatest efforts, in the end, the fanservice games sell the most. In some cases, it is so extreme that you might not even be able to call it reading anymore. We are almost talking about something that is completely different from books, then. Some of us are reading for a purpose that is completely different from novels. So, it is not like VNs are just books with pictures and audio, perhaps. -
The Decline of Reading in Relation to VNs
InvertMouse replied to Heizei_koukousei's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Visual novels have artworks and audio so hopefully that helps a bit. I spent about 15 years taking steps to try and become a novelist, but I moved onto other ventures because I am scared of the way things are trending. Whenever I listen to writing podcasts or attend conferences, the people there often say novels are not dying or are being read more than ever. I am sorry, but I just never really believed that for a second. I doubt VNs will ever become as mainstream as traditional games, but at least it will hopefully grow a bit more . -
How do you read VNs (Stolen from reddit)
InvertMouse replied to solidbatman's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I be like -
Sakura Taisen was pretty cool B)~ I guess that would count as a VN. There was a period when that franchise was massive.

Conditions of play (trying to sound all academic X'D)
InvertMouse replied to InvertMouse's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Cool, thanks for the reply folks ! Looks like locked room, lights off and headphones are common preferences. I like sitting on my bed and reading until I start nodding off, too. It is relaxing and makes sleeping much easier XD.
