Yeah, that'd be a better use of time and resources than the craptastic and unnecessary final chapter that presumably serves no other purpose than to promote the fan disc. The last 30 minutes of the VN could've been handled so much better. It's sad to think about.

Have fun with alternative. From what I understand, that's not canon. Also, the final chapter in MLA is god-awful and as cringeworthy as the entirety of Extra. The game should've ended the moment In hindsight, those last minutes are *almost* enough to ruin the whole experience for me.

I tend to focus on one VN at a time. The only exception is Steins;Gate and Hanachirasu, which I alternated between due to not finding either very interesting.

Kikokugai has a pretty freaking epic soundtrack. Love most soundtracks made by Zizz.

Definitely. Even Kei's hair is pretty ridiculous. Still, I liked Genjousai's moustache. That thing could've annihilated the BETA single-handedly. Shame they retconned it in the Unlimited universe.

That's true. I don't always see reason when it comes to these things, regardless of how small of an impact it has on my economy. I bought a Wii-U for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate alone. Haven't bought another game for it since then.

I generally treat women better than men, but I'm a highly manipulative person. I wear a different mask for different people. I'm only ever a "gentleman" when I want to get laid. Works far better than the "asshole" approach, contrary to popular belief. Most people I know do treat women with more respect than they do men.

I despised Fuminori by the halfway point of Saya no Uta. That can be attributed to great writing, though. As far as poorly written, terrible characters go; the MC from Cross Channel is at the top of my list so far.

Strong heroines, I suppose. Casca from Berserk would be the perfect example. I generally don't care how characters act as long as it's somewhat natural and not forced cliches.

All I ask for is consistency. I can tolerate most art styles.

I'm with you there, buddy. Didn't find anything enjoyable about it, though I didn't regret going through the routes for the sake of Unlimited. Also, Ayakashibito is probably the worst experience I've had with a VN other than MV Extra. It's pretty solid all around, but the sex scenes are too much. There's even a sex scene during the final battle in one of the routes. It's one of the games I'd love to see an all ages patch for if I ever revisit it.

Well, I have 519 hours on Skyrim alone according to Steam. I've never finished it, lol. Got most things done in Morrowind and Oblivion within 300 hours each, though. That's a good example of OCD being a terrible burden right there. I started Alternative earlier today, and I can't really imagine reading it without going through Extra and Unlimited now. Only up to 28/11 so far, but I'm enjoying it more than Unlimited already. Still haven't seen an actual BETA, but the silhouettes from Unlimited alone did instill a sense of despair.

You should check out Kikokugai - The Cyber Slayer if you haven't done so already. Darker than both Kara no Shoujo and Saya no Uta combined. Right up there with Berserk as far as revenge stories go.

Yeah, I generally feel that it's a useful trait, though somewhat annoying at times. You should see me play an RPG. You'd want to slap me within an hour for lack of progress. I couldn't take most of the routes seriously in Extra. The One Tree Hill parody from Family Guy should sum it up perfectly. "Dude, let me tell you something; there is nothing that will ever happen in the rest of our lives that's as important as what's going on right here, right now in high school by these lockers." Followed by "High school is such a serious thing - these problems matter!" I'm about halfway through Unlimited now. Significantly better to say the least.

I'm going through the Muv-Luv Extra routes. I know people say one should simply do the routes required to unlock Unlimited, but I have a serious case of OCD. Anyhow, Muv-Luv Extra is potentially the worst time I've ever had with a visual novel. Especially Chizuru's route. Terrible pacing and overall writing. I've never been so bored with a VN before. Hopefully it picks up in Unlimited and Alternative.

Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer comes to mind. It definitely had a conclusive ending, but one can never have too much Kong Taoluo. Probably the most badass character in a VN. I also wouldn't object to Kara no Shoujo going on for an additional 20 hours.
