I was going for something more subtle and simple, an icon that anyone who knows this site would recognise instantly, also something you can scale down to put into signatures etc. Considered just the 4 fuwacolour stripes + white silhouette of Aaeru in the centre, turned out difficult to make (and not as recognisable) - someone with better skills could try this. Or something like Aaeru-ism...?
I started it but this is a community thing, so it's even better to see everyone joining in and continuing it. The +Aaeru versions are great, thanks and keep up the creativity everyone!

Cannot speak for everyone, but personally I just didn't like KonoSora. Some routes in FD are worth reading (Ageha's sister, Kanako), but I have much more important and fun project going already (Ikusa Megami Zero), which is light-years ahead in terms of story.Plus KonoSora project itself isn't over yet, there's Sweet Love remaining to tl.
No, implication here is that you will never be able to read some of best VNs otherwise and will be doomed to never see what some other brilliant VN authors writing is like, suffering through random someone's "reinterpretation".Not everyone learns japanese, but serious VN fans do.

As for "in few months" vs "3 years and still can't read VN". As I said, "learning to read VNs" is different from learning language. My approach, which was quite successful for me, was to extract text from 30 VNs, and then build frequency dictionaries based on these texts. I was learning only vocab used in VNs and in order of popularity. On average, I am doing 20 new cards (10 new words, since I use 2 cards per note) per day in anki, thats 1800 words in 6 months.
Natural languages have interesting property that while vocab is quite big, only very small fraction of words are used often. For example, KonoSora uses 14943 words, but 1800 words you could learn in 6 months constitute 75% of text. FD is much easier, since there's not so much aviation terminology.
For very simple games like Hanahira, even 1000 words is about 80% of text.

Edit: corrected numbers, used wrong file first time which also contained n-grams.

Also, just executed little experiment. If you select 1800 random words instead most frequent ones, you get only 8%+-1.5% (I've did 100 runs) of text covered with them. So learning vocab w/out focus on VNs (and better particular VN you want to read) is pretty much useless in short term, you will see results only in 2-3 years (about 60% at 3 years of random study, still worse than 6 months of focused study).

Do you want to edit the images (someone else can provide translation), or maybe do QA test install for the patch later on.

This is very important - many programs may not work if the system path is wrong.
The default is apparently something like

Just a note:
You shouldn't replace everything in the PATH variable but instead you should use ; as a separator and add the new path after the already existing entries.

The thing is fuwanovel is not really part of "THE -coolest and greatest- vn community" - I don't consider myself part of that community because those people are not even worth talking to, sure there are exceptions but most people hate just because it is what the other people from "THE -coolest and greatest- vn community" are doing and they want to fit or something. I don't even know and can't explain it, people should just enjoy together what VNs can give us (tons of entertainment) and stop bashing translations and games and overall being toxic and dicks.
But that's how it is, that is the true form of "THE -coolest and greatest- vn community" and I will not associate with such people.
 
And that is exactly why I joined fuwanovel, it is one of the very few small VN communities that doesn't give a shit about "THE -coolest and greatest- vn community" and just does things it's own way, prepatched games, friendly for newbies and all that.
If people have problem with that, they can avoid it easily, we are not forcing the website to anyone, if someone doesn't want to use it, they don't have to, they can start their own website where you cannot do anything, ask any question, link torrent or whatever... oh wait, such website already exists xD
 
And as you can see, with prepatched and Aaeru we managed to built this great community with mostly friendly atmosphere where you can discuss whatever, download games and instantly play them and be happy. There is no reason to change any of that just because "someone" doesn't agree with it, we are what we are, if people don't agree with it, they can leave and never visit the website again, there is no revenue lost because everything fuwanovel does is free and non-profit, not even ads.
And as you can also observe, the fact that peopel avoid fuwanovel actually helps us keep the friendly atmosphere, toxic people just bash fuwanovel elsewhere where we don't have to read it and we are happy, have clean nice forums and just have fun.

Here is another related question to the discussion, for those who prefer the more literal translations, do you like to insert the translation notes when it is about something Japanese that has no English equivalent?

In general it seems the ones who like localised just want a story they can easily read and not very interested in learning about Japanese culture, but those who like literal translation will like the experience to possibly learn something from the translation notes.

The other issue is that you are assuming there is one and only one possible way to translate something, and that that is the one version the consumer must take.

If MG does decide to translate it, it will very likely be different from the translation by Aaeru, even ignoring simple changes such as EN-UK vs EN-US spelling. There's also the literal vs non-literal/localisation debate but let's not open another can of worms here.

This gives the consumer choice, which is important.

There's an old saying along the lines of "sometimes you don't have to make the elephant dance well, you just have to make it dance."
In some ways Fuwanovel is about getting an elephant to fly... even if not very well
