At this stage, I'm looking to release a demo late December 2014 or early Jan 2015. Although further development of this game is dependent of how popular the premise is on social media. To all Tumblr users, here's a December giveaway for you! Even if you're not a Tumblr user, the link has some screenshots of the game if you're interested to check out!

Kosuna and I agreed to just use Dowolf's translation, as Kosuna is not at the same level in neither English nor Japanese.

    Interesting. Let's see now.

Don't have any experience with Linux or Mac, but I'm pretty confident in my own skills when it comes to Windows. Have been using it since the age of 6-7, that makes it 10-11 eleven years. Can't really say I'm using Command Prompt on a regular basis. Not because I'm not familiar with it, but because I see no need to.

What do you mean by "knowledge of installation packages and patching"? I've installed and uninstalled tons of software, patched lots of stuff, but can't say I know anything specific that falls out of general use when it comes to them or installation packages.

Have helped a lot of people, both on the internet and IRL. Have been installing Windows, anti-viruses, office packages and lots of other software normal users need for about 3 years now. As for the internet, it was mostly limited to simply step-by-step instructions one has to follow in order.

Can't say I'm proud of saying this, but I've never bought a program in my life. That goes for VNs as well. That might change when I'll be making money myself, but at the moment, that's how it is. Back to the point, I've installed many of the VNs. Maybe not so many "other related software".

As for the "good general knowledge of Visual Novels" - actually, I'm not sure about this one. It's a relatively new thing to me since I've only been reading/playing for a couple of months.

I'm patient, but I'll let the others decide what my attitude's like for themselves.

I think that in short run little companies that don't have a a big budget and aren't that popular can lower a chases of failure (business/money failure not a quality failure) by adding H-scenes as even if people don't like it there will always be those who will buy them just for H-scenes. In a long run whoever they destroy them self, and they even lower a popularity of VNs that don't have H-scenes by being known as hentai-games. I mean just how many people would newer even consider giving a VNs a chance after seeing or hearing about H-scenes, I myself if I had known about them before I stared reading VNs I would probably newer even get close to VNs. So yes it's an easy way to earn some fast/easy money witch is the only purpose of H-scenes to begin with but in long run it has an extremely negative impact.

I would say that you are the one who doesn't understand those things, by pointing out how eroge are a center of a VNs as a medium you just show how little knowledge you in fact have about a topic.

WARNING: This is not another "you're all perverts" thread. Please keep things civil.

What do you think are the implications of H-scenes on the wonderful medium we know as Visual Novels?

I don't think that has anything to do with anything... But that line is still cool : P

Personally, I think H-scenes are this mediums' biggest hurdle, its tallest wall. They have a large, negative impact that makes people call VNs "Hentai games", and seriously, is that what you want? Are you proud of being a Hentai gamer? Do you truly believe that by defending this atrocity, you are doing the medium any good...?!

Even for those who do enjoy porn, are VNs really a good place for that? Time and again I've heard the statement "That H-scene was so bad...". Is it just one particular H-scene, or do most of them seem to fall under this category...?

Well, I do personally admit to having a rather radical opinion. Please don't take my rambling too seriously. And fap all ya want

There was a similar request a week ego, so I am just gonna copy-paste my post from there (True not all of those titles have romance):

Eien no Aselia -The Spirit of Eternity Sword- English version has no H-scenes.
Amaranto, Aoishiro, Steins;Gate, Ever17 -the out of infinity- are all great VNs without H-scenes.
Kono Oozora ni, Tsubasa wo Hirogete has a version that doesn't have H-scenes.
Katawa Shoujo and Coμ - Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku - have an options to turn off H-scenes.
So does Cross†Channel true personaly I didn't like this one at all and even true you can turn off H-scenes it's still full of sex talk (Like most of the time it's the only thing going on).
Like already mentioned Rewrite and Little busters have no H-scenes, as well as Cleaned true I haven't read that one.
There's also Remember11 -the age of infinity- true again this one I personally didn't like much.

As for others that I haven't read myself yet but I plan to read and know that have no H-scenes there are Never7 -the end of infinity-, Chaos;Head, Princess Nightmare, Dengeki Stryker (One of it's versions at least), Planetarian ~Chiisana Hoshi no Yume~, Air (Last eng released version), Corpse Party BloodCovered, Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, I/O

There are also Ar Tonelico ~Sekai no Owari de Utai Tsuzukeru Shoujo~ and Ar Tonelico II ~Sekai ni Hibiku Shoujo Tachi no Metafalica~ true it's up for debate if it's more of a VN with gameplay or JRPG with VN elements and I haven't play/read it myself to judge.

There is also Dangan Ronpa Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei and BlazBlue trilogy true again I personally didn't like them much.

Oh and yea I almost forgot newly released Killer Queen also has an option to turn of H-scenes.

Remember, guys, these threads aren't for solving technical issues.  They're for questions, praise and encouragement for the translators and heads of the projects, and for status updates.  If you have any issues with patching the Steam version of Kono Oozora, you should head over to Tech Support; if people have found a way around your issue, jester, they'll be there.

(The main thread has been updated with her graphic, check it out if you can!)

Bright and energetic, Akira loves to fill the screen with excitement.
As a member of the school's drama club, she also has a penchant for adventure.
What could she be up to behind that innocent smile...?

I finally have the time to post something on your thread about your demo! (I was really busy the past few weeks^^)
Here are my thoughts and opinions!
    On the + side :
    - The GUI is really pretty, and very nicely done! It is a pleasure for the eyes, great job!
    - The 3D animations are a nice addition (even though the phone animation was lagging for some reason on my laptop, not sure if it comes from me or the demo itself)
    - The filtered backgrounds were okay, but they are a good fit with the art and the character's sprites!
    - The design of the heroines and their sprites are really nice! Definitely one level ahead of most amateur Visual Novels!
    - Concerning the writing in general, I really liked the idea of "Mindstorm", it's a very interesting concept, and I can't help but wonder what influence it will have on the next chapters! I also appreciated the fact that you linked it with psychology and dreams, and that you seem to know about what you're talking about!
    - The music creates a very nice ambiance to the game, good job!
    - The heroine I like the most so far is the childhood friend^^
    - I really appreciated the mini map where we could select the place where we were going.

    On the - side :
    - I'm not very fond of the MC, but I guess that's just a matter of taste^^ He seems a bit too arrogant. Well, I'm sure he is flawed in this way so that it can actually change with character development^^
    - The relationship between the main heroine and the MC seems to be inconsistent, especially with the phone call, and when she pays a visit to the MC at the very end. At first, she hates him, and I know that their relationship is not supposed to stay that way all along and that it's meant to evolve, especially since she seems to be an important heroine, but they seem to get friendly (or at least she) way too fast, it's a bit disturbing. It's as if she became a different character completely. Maybe there are plot elements that explain this sudden change that we are not aware of yet though^^
    - The demo ended in the middle of a scene, or at least that's the feeling it gave me, it felt weird. Not the best cliffhanger either I have to admit.

Overall, the demo really reminded me of Symphonic Rain (the type of music, the rain, the map segments, even the setting in a way), and I really appreciated it!
Keep up the good work, I'll look forward for the next demo!

There already is another topic for random chatter about the project,we don't need another one.
And it doesn't always benefit, since if ourai has to go through 30 pages of chatting, not related to the TL every hour to find the one person who is actually asking something relevant and needs help,i doubt we would get updates like this(especially if every update was buried under hundrends of comments after 30 mins of posting it)

    Game:

    アイドル魔法少女ちるちる☆みちる

    VNDB Link

From the publisher Frontwing, this alternate-world spin-off of the Grisaia no Kajitsu series features heroine Matsushima Michiru as a Magical Girl, fighting to save the world from the Seven's Chaos. Follow along as she argues with her familiar, fails to perform all sorts of magic, gets one-upped by other idols and Magical Girls alike, accidentally shows off her panties, and occasionally dies. She has a dream, and she's going to chase it the way only Michiru can.

The game is produced as if it were an anime in the form of a visual novel, so it is distributed into 13 episodes. Part 1 contains the first 7 episodes, and Part 2 (to be released in December 2014) contains the final 6.

    Intro:

    Technical Details:

As stated before, this game is split into 7 episodes of roughly equal length. The 7 episodes, combined, comprise roughly 5000 lines of text. Pretty small, by VN standards, but I'm very slow (~25-40 lines/hour).

In addition to the scenario text, each episode has an OP and ED movie, a pre-episode summary of the events so far, and a post-episode preview of the next episode.

The game runs on the CatSystem2 engine, the same as Grisaia no Kajitsu (as well as many other Frontwing titles, I believe).

    Progress: ~50/100%

    Menus/Config: 80/100%

    Scenario: 40/100%

    Episode 2 - A Strange Exchange and a Magical Change: 94/100%

Episode 3 - The Other Magical Girl: 90/100%

    Episode 4: 0/100%

    Episode 5: 0/100%

    Episode 6: 0/100%

    Episode 7: 0/100%

    Movies: ?/?%

    Mastering/Second QC/TLC: 0/100%

    Schedule:

As mentioned before, my translation speed is very slow. Each episode takes me about 20-25 hours (translating, reviewing, proofreading, editing, head-scratching). Summaries, previews, and OP/ED subtitles will take even longer (relatively, per word), since translating by ear is much harder than translating copy-able text.

As a rough guideline, I'm trying to finish the script of one episode per week, and hopefully additional TL tasks, cleanup, QC, mastering, etc. will take no longer than 2 weeks after that.

In all, I'm hoping to finish the whole project and have a patch out by this Thanksgiving, November 27th.

    Translation Philosophy:

    Recruitment:

I don't need anyone else in order to get this project finished, but it would definitely benefit from having a good editor or translation checker, or... a Japanese humorous reference checker? My biggest concern is that sometimes there may be subtle jokes in the script that are flying over my head. In any case, I will definitely at least find someone other than myself to give the script a sanity check before I release it.

    Preview Screenshots:

Translated menus & config screens, and some example scenario lines.
