If you want to fight racism and sexism the way to do it is through arguments not through censorship. Freedom of speech requires people to accept the existance of things they disagree with, if one only have the freedom to say and express the things that are socially accepable then there is no freedom of speech. While I find racism and sexism to be stupid as it makes rediculus claims I can't just say that just because I find it to be a bad thing it must be censored. If that were to be the case what defence would I have if they wanted to censor something I liked because they found it offensive.

I said core VN fanbase, not overall sales. Pretty much the people who know enough to know about the options available. My post was about people having enough options to choose from so that if they are informed they can choose to not buy from Moenovel. Those who are not familiar with vndb likely don't know what is available to them. It was not meant as a claim that they had abysmal sales.

I feel like we have now probably goten to the point where there is enough competition for this. Mangagamer has increased the amount of good titles they release, same with SP and Jast turn out a new title once in a blue moon. There is also Frontwing and Visual Arts who want to bring over their VNs to the west. Also there are some new companies with interesting titles like Sol Press and Nekonyan. Then there are also companies linked to kickstarters like Degica who are responsible for localizing the Muv-Luv series, Views Co. Ltd responsible for Dies Irae. The ones I mentioned are just the ones I could think of at the top of my head and I know that there are more localizers out there that localize their titles better than Moenovel. Also I would like to mention that the amount of votes Moenovel's recent titles have goten on vndb has been abysmal, so this means that they likely sell very few copies to the core VN fanbase.

Why am I not surprised that such a thing exist?

A few month ago I made a list containing all the VNs with official english release, it should be pretty easy to navigate, so this could be a way to quickly get caught up with which VNs that are available. The VNs are sorted by amount of vndb votes and the average vndb vote so it should be helpfull when trying to find something interesting.

Personally I would say no, though I am the kind of person who really hates when any content is cut. Also I really just hate Moenovel. The main reason for this hate is how they dealt with the censorship of their Lovekami VNs. With the Lovekami VNs they first released them with content cut in english, at the time there was no info about there being any 18+ content in them so people didn't know anything was cut when they released. Then a bit after they had been released in english they confirmed a complete version that would only be released in japanese. This means that they tricked western fans into believing that it was actually an all ages VN and therefore not get backlash for the release being censored until they had sold many copies on steam. They also even had the balls to use the fact that only japanese people would get the 18+ scenes to promote it in Japan.

I know that, what I said was that Pulltop/Moenovel wouldn't neccesarily sell the license to other companies. Companies like Jast USA or MG would need to get the license I think. Still them localizing the titles through Moenovel means it is extreemly unlikely that they would try to get it published by anyone else. Guess my wording was a bit bad when I said give the license.

I think it would be better if Moenovel and SakuraGame just gave up. SakuraGame for instance have translations so horrible that no one can actually consider it a real translation, might aswell put the script through google translate to read it. As of late they have started taking titles that other actually good VN localizers have been interested in and that many people would like to have a proper release. For instance they seem to have killed the chance for a proper release of Fortissimo EXS//Akkord:Nachsten Phase. Regarding Moenovel they have previously only translated Pulltop VNs essentially making sure that we will not get a complete eroge from Pulltop, while this is bad I am not sure if Pulltop would give the license to other companies if they went out of buisness, even though they did license Princess Waltz to a subsidiary of Jast USA so there could potentially be a chance. However what I find somewhat more worrying is that they have lately branched out to VNs from other companies as well. This means that they can also localize many other good titles and thus make sure that they don't end up in the hands of any of the companies that actually does a good job at giving us proper releases like for instance Mangagamer. So the main problem with these bad companies is that they are making sure that we will never get a proper release of many good titles.

Because of this thread I ended up reading so many synopsis from Miel that I was able to figure out that it was a VN from Miel just based on this. Well considering that all their VNs seem to pretty much have the same story I guess it is not that special.

Btw didn't SakuraGame lose Hemoimo? Is that suituation special or could it happen in this case aswell?

Honestly I expect this translation to be even worse than the one for Fox Hime Zero. I don't really think SakuraGame is going to bother actually using time on a project and this VN is 30-50 hours long, so I doubt they will put the same amount of effort into each line as they did for Fox Hime Zero (which itself seems to have had no effort put into it). I expect to see even worse examples from Fortissimo Fa on a later thread than what Zander showed from Fox Hime Zero.

Seems like Nekonyansoft really wanted to get the title. Here is the reaction from one of the people working there on their forums. "As big fans of the series we tried. We really did. Sadly we never even got a response from them." Quite a pity that they ended up choosing SakuraGame rather than Nekonyan.

Maybe the promo picture actually includes two girls. The one in the front with her legs hidden behind the pillow and a girl in the back hiding her upper part under the same pillow. I would then assume this is a yuri title and that they are actually having sex in the picture Btw this is meant as a joke, but if it somehow turns out to be right I will still say I totally knew it 100%.

As the title says Frontwing have not long ago announced that they are working on a new VN. Here is the page for their title http://frontwing.jp/product/loca-love/en/. From the introduction it seems like the main characters will be three girls, though the introduction is quite vague. So do anyone have any opinion on the title announced? I myself feel like there is too little information about the title to know whether this is something that will interest me.

I think you have old save data that doesn't work with english patch. First line says that the savedata version is old. Next line I am not sure about all the kanji, but I think it says something like please delete your savedata.

Female breast are just there to feed the baby with needed milk, it doesn't really serve any biological sexual function. Honsetly I find it sort of odd how society has made it into such an extreeme sexual symbol. I wonder how it would turn out if we just stopped censoring boobs, maybe people would just stop caring about it. Honestly I think it is related to how we have made it a taboo, much like how in many extremist religious muslim countries a female showing any bare skin at all is considered to be extreemly sexual and an act of sexual temptation toward men.

Same with my country, though I have no idea if it is actually illegal or not. Based on the laws any loli content or something containing a character under the age of 18 whether sex occurs or not, just sexual presentation is enough which then includes ecchi. This applies both to text and to drawn art. The thing about this though is that technically every religious book and many works of fiction such as game of thrones or romeo and juliet break this law. Though these things are of course completely legal. Ecchi manga and anime with chars under the age of 18 is also sold here. So this means that we have laws saying it is illegal, though the laws are so broad that many things considered legal break them and it is impossible to know what they would actually apply to.

Really hate when people who have no clue about the thing they are talking about get to influence things they have nothing to do with that doesn't cause any harm to anyone.

A theme that seem to be common is that they feature homosexual relationship, Mutiny!! seem to be girl on girl according to tags, Roommates has LGBTQ tag, Kindred Spirits on the Roof is a yuri, Huniepop lets you choose either male or female, if female then that would be yuri, Battle Girls has the tag bisexual heroine, Galaxy Girls is a yuri. There was also A Kiss for the Petals - Maidens of Michael that faced this problem not too long ago. The only one that doesn't seem to fall into this category is Tropical Liquor

I have not played it myself but on vndb it says it is all ages, also most characters seems to engage in off screen sex. I would assume they they just want to remove it for crude jokes or something else, it does have LGBTQ tag so maybe some anti gay people mass flagged it.

Tropical Liquor was also hit and looking at vndb all the chars are 20+ years old.

My gues would be momoiro closet and subahibi Also assume Fureraba is going to get hit based on the amount of people trolling the discussion page that probably reported just because they love censoring things for others.
