I finished playing Cupid
I really enjoyed it, interesting premise, good writing, and it was pretty dark and twisted.
If I had to choose a song that encapsulated this vn it would be this one
-
So recently I played a few different vns
First I played Season of the Sakura a very old vn from 96 and I thought it was pretty decent
It had that old style charm even if the whole look, talk, think mechanic is dated as hell. I thought it was also weird that it is plainly set in a high school even though the vn claims otherwise.
After that I switched tones completely and wrapped up playing Higurashi part dos
I thought it was pretty creepy though the ending seemed to be trying to be mysterious for mysterious sake
Also, does the beginning of the story start the same for each chapter? I can see how that might get stale
How many of the same festivals will I witness?
After that I switched gears yet again and played Lingua Fleur: Lily a short Chinese vn of all things
I really enjoyed it and I loved the fact that it was actually set in a University for once. Plus, the writing was actually very well done. I was impressed
Now I decided to play Cupid because tonal shifts are fun for the whole family.
These achievements though

So I finished Chaos;Head after like 8 years of having it in my backlog and I enjoyed it for the most part
The last chapter was really great but a lot of those earlier chapters were not so much
It spent way too long building up tension and focused too much on Takumi's school life which mostly consisted of him going "....."
So much of my experience was spent mindlessly clicking the next lines of dialogue while being bored by the scientific psychobabble
SpoilerI did like the battle with the army of Seria's that tried to pummel him into bloody bits like every Otaku's nightmare, still would have preferred a better protag
Also, like, no epilogue? This vn hella needed one. So it's a 7/10 for me
Now, to play another yuri
-
I remember another one from ages past
Yo Jin Bo
I decided to give it a try a long time ago and was pleasantly surprised by the princess protag since she seemed pretty strong willed
Of course after only about forty minutes she is abruptly switched with a doormat of a protag who is useless and get's embarrassed easily
So I dropped it right during the hot springs scene (Of course it had a stupid fucking hot springs scene)

I think Nurse Love Syndrome hasn't done as well as Love Addiction to a lack in marketing I mean even me a yuri connoisseur only heard about it's release well after the fact
Another reason is because a lot of the better vns are being drowned by shitily translated vns and DL site spunk trash

Muddling through Chaos Head
Man I remember all the time I spent trying to get this damn vn running back in the day
So far my impressions of it are pretty average
It's got some interesting things to it so far but I can't get behind the protag
He's pretty awful in so many waysAt least he's an actual character though instead of the typical blank slates
How many chapters is it anyway?
-
Mark Hamel
I loved when he voiced the Joker
Only in the OG animated series though
Fuck the new adventure of Batman, fucking pricks
(He was alright in the Arkham Asylum games)
Ron Perlman
I loved him when he voiced Slade in Teen Titans
He's got an amazing talent and I'm still awestruck by his presence
Miyuki Sawashiro, she voiced Mint Blancmanche so I'm bound to love her
Yukari Tamura cuz she voiced Ranpha
Rino Kawashima cuz she voices so many characters that I like
-
I'm currently drunk and I'll not add to the discourse most likely but damn does it seem that yuri protags for the most part are better than most other het protags and have more value
-
Muv Luv Alternative
Sekien no Inganock
Shikkoku no Sharnoth
That's all of the ones I can think of at the moment

I really loved how the game let you play out the same scenario in so many wildly different ways.
Yeah, that's why I loved the ending so much because I felt that they seamlessly blended the routes together for the most part
I also finally finished Amane's route in Hearts Wings after like 600 years
It was a good ending to a decent enough route
-
Kare Kano is a pretty wonderful series even though it gives up the ghost towards the end
I'd also recommend Kimi ni Todoke though I've only read the manga for it. I think I only saw the first two episodes
The manga itself is wonderful but I'm sure the anime would be pretty decent
-
Hmmm good banter is my fucking jam
I'd say the banter in G Senjou and Sharin No Kuni is the stuff of legend
Campus Notes - Forget Me Not has some really fabulous banter as well
All the Key games that I've played have some pretty good banter between the characters Clannad and Rewrite being the best for it.
-
I'm surprised at how good this band holds up

So, I just finished a route on Yandere. I can't understand how people can enjoy this and say that it's good unironically.
Yeah, Yandere was pretty fucking garbage. That scumfuck deserved everything he got.
Crimson Gray and it's sequel is actually very enjoyable however.

I finished playing Steam Prison and I liked it quite a bit
The protag was good, the world building was pretty solid, and I enjoyed playing through all the route, well, except for Valentine's.
I think the true route was the best out of the bunch
Also,
Spoilerbeing Fin is suffering. I'm glad Cyrus didn't end up with him
-
Oh, wait, now I remember
Yeah I dropped Fureraba after about an hour or so when I found out that the seemly interesting mystery girl was just yet another meek and soft girl.
-
I typically don't give up on vns too often, most of the time I just kinda stop reading but it's usually with the intention of picking it back up later on (whether or not I actually do is it's own thing)
If I decide to play a vn I typically try and play for a few hours to see if I like it
It took me quite a few hours to drop Hatsukoi 1/1 because I thought some of the girls were decent(especially Maya and Kyou)
Alack and alas the protag was a spinless, pathetic, cockslap and he brought the whole vn down with his mere presence
(Also, the whole cafeteria plot thread was by itself stupid and shallow)
-
Yep, sure, you are being punished. The punishment is that you have to keep making fucking stupid and weird threads like this till the day you die. I hope you are happy with this resolution.
-
Well, goodbye dude
Hope you sort out all your shit and learn about how to better compartmentalize the things you watch and read.

I've started playing Steam Prison and it seems pretty good so far
I'm a fan of the protag she seems like a interesting character and I like that she's willing to be flexible as a person -
-
Well I finished playing Cinderella Phenomenon and I got to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think that is almost entirely due to how great and well developed the protag was
She felt like a kindred spirit and I felt I could really empathized with her, I also liked how she showed a remarkable amount of growth without sacrificing the things I liked about her personality
The dudes were alright except Rumple, boy was he aggravating as a character and his route was the worst out of the lot.
It was a mistake to play his route last
I might give it a 7 or and 8
If I give it an 8 than it's all due to the protag
I'll probably play steam prison next
