Cidra got a reaction from Limerence_ in What are you playing?
Currently reading Steins;Gate and It has everything I'm looking for in a Visual Novel, anything actually regardless of media. Superb story line with flawlessly written character along with their individual character development between one another. Captivating events/scenes/art/music I love the music, with intense realistic logic adapted into an already sensible world that brings everything together without question. I'm no big fan when it comes to high use of realistic hard physics in shows and genres I watch and read but after getting through the slow points (the build up to the game) I am having loads of fun especially when they bring up theorems to support their reasoning throughout the story. If I could I would beige read this game to the very end and not stop until I was finished but life sucks...I played my first run without a walk through (I find that more intriguing when I run into endings I wasn't expecting) and got Suzuha's ending (which I really enjoyed from beginning to end.)
If this story continues on this path that made me spend 8 hours of my day off just reading nonstop then It'll be in my top 3 when it's over.
I have a few people to thank for the recommendation. I'm having a blast.

Cidra got a reaction from akaritan in What are you playing?
There is quite a lot to say about Umineko but I don't want to spoil anyone who hasn't played it personally. The writing is superb and the comcept was so deep that it's still making me wrack my brain even after finishing it days ago. I would love to have a discussion with a few others to learn more theories behind it. I do admit I felt a tad unsatisfied as the ending drew near and still even now I feel that way but regardless Umineko is a journey through words that I won't easily forget anytime soon. I ultimately gave it a 8/10.

Reading Danganronpa and it's wonderful. It can be pretty morbid, and the tone and sense of humor make it play right in to my tastes in comedy. The characters and general presentation are really stylized and quirky and generally a lot of fun. I also like trying to guess how each of the murders were carried out~
This'll definitely meet my monthly body-count quota too; I'm so happy because I needed something darker. I do agree with @Lucius and @Vorathiel on the rhythm gameplay though, it's really tiring. However, I like the courtroom debates a lot, it's like Phoenix Wright but with more dead kids and timed challenges.
I guess my most major complaint is with the UI, of all things. No instant text speed makes me sad. I read incredibly quickly, so that was really hard to adapt to and even now I can't say I'm happy about it at all.

Cidra reacted to Pseudome Studio in Errant Heart
Hello!
I wanted to take a moment to mention a new VN project that our studio has just released, Errant Heart. I won't blather on too much about it. If you're curious, you may want to check out our Itch.io page, watch our promo video or our sample game play video to get some idea of what to expect.
We never got a whole lot of feedback in our later development phase. So we'd appreciate any insight anyone might have on the current v1.0 build. It doesn't have to be much. Even simply describing how well the animations run on your particular computer (and the general specs of said system) would be a great help in allowing us to do things like fine-tune graphics.
One way or the other, I hope you enjoy! Thanks much.

Cidra reacted to Eclipsed in Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy (Future & Despair)
6
First half of DR3 Future is a pretty epic flop, lots of very uninteresting murder mystery coupled with half of the new cast ultimately being fodder ie. a complete waste of screentime, but now it seems the latter half is finally setting up for a climactic finale with the rounding up of relevant DR characters
and ermergawd, yeah people should really play or at least know about Ultra Despair Girls so you can fangirl at

Cidra reacted to B. Ronoue in A new servant appears
Hey, Chiaki is one of my favourite Danganronpa characters across the whole series so you have my gratitude for this one. I suppose Chiaki is many people's favourite Danganronpa character, considering she's sweet as a cinnamon bun.
I see you have also found your way to the new DR anime topic so you might want to add yourself to the follower list. Tomorrow is the day we get a new dose of despair after all! (well technically future, but you know what I mean )

Cidra reacted to Fred the Barber in Favorite BGM/soundtrack of a Visual Novel
Apparently I know the soundtrack well enough by now that I could hear the song in my head just from your description. That's a pretty memorable track, definitely.
Unfortunately, it seems my favorite track from the OST isn't on the partial soundtrack that comes with the game, so I don't have it handy and I can't find a link to it on youtube (since the youtube uploader of the OST apparently bought the same thing I did), so I just ordered the full OST off cdjapan for myself

Cidra reacted to Phantom in Greetings Fuwa's!
Hi guys, I'm Phantom. I've already been on this website for a few days but I didn't know I could actually introduce myself (pretty cool, regards to Kurisu-Chan for letting me know about this and thanks for people that already said their welcoming!).
I've already spoken to some people in the chat and everyone seems really nice, you'll likely find me in the chat. I love visual novels, at the moment I'm finishing off Hoshizora no Memoria and my favorite visual novel is If my heart had wings. Love video games, at the moment my favorite series is the persona series, persona 3 and 4 mainly. My favorite anime is gosick (ooh sick anime right here ).
I hope I get along with everyone on the forum
Regards, Phantom-kun

Cidra reacted to dfbreezy in Episicava [BxG][Kickstarter and demo out!]
Summary:
One day, the face of the Earth was changed permanently when it came into contact with a mysterious force known as the “Alpha Nebula”. With it, humans developed various unexplainable abilities, and divided themselves based on those traits.
The main factions include: The Tonitrui, the Excedente, the Praecantator, the Permuto, and the Northmanni. All have their own set of unique abilities that came with infamous Alpha Nebula collision, with the exception of the Northmanni who remain largely unchanged.
Among these races however, existed a special group of people who managed to retain all the other race’s abilities. They were a very powerful, but small isolated group of people, called “emulators”.
Arin Arlento was one of these people, living in a remote village with his grandfather and other emulators. All was going peacefully, until it was attacked by the Northmanni empire, who slaughtered his entire race and kidnapped his childhood friend, Aria.
Being the only other survivor, Arin escaped into the Northmanni empire, hiding and plotting his revenge. That is until finding out that Aria is still alive, and is being experimented on by the Northmanni.
Resentful of the world that took everything away from him, Arin begins his quest to retrieve his friend, and exact retribution on those who destroyed all that he held dear.
It’s one misguided man against the world.
Genres:[action, adventure, superpower, psychological, romance, war.]
The GUI, done by Trey Fletcher;
Structure: the story would be mostly linear as the choices mostly appear during battle and have their instant bad ends attached to it.
The common route before each branching point is not very long as it serves to introduce the heroine who you would be branching into.
It has an enforced playing order of Alacria->Aniam.
Once the reader branches into the four other heroines the main story ends there and it focuses on the specific problems of the heroine.
Due to various issues, Episicava would be released in 3 separate volumes as opposed to one whole.
Setting: one of the main features of this story is that it is adventure styled. The protagonist and his posse of troubled combat capable girls move about on the various continents to seek new shelter. Each continent represents an ethnicity or fault of human nature.
Northmanni- Modern day society. Styled after Japan and America.
Fulgur- represents humanity’s scientific progression and the harm it causes.
Tribus- represents African tribalism and the cultural implications it puts on its people.
Progress:
story-
1) prologue- 100% (will be used for demo)
2)part 1- { common route 100%, Alacria's route 70%}
3)part 2- {common route 100%, Aniam's route 70%}
art-
1) sprites - 85%
2) bgs - 100%

There's still this.
But I would recommend you to wait out for this retranslation, as a lot of people dislike MoeNovel's translation.

Cidra got a reaction from Silvz in Fruitbat factory announced new All-ages visual novel "Hakoniwa no Gakuen"
I think I get the joke. You're so funny haha.
It sounds interesting and I like the art style of it. But how long before a translation for it is even possible? I wouldn't mind giving it a go.
