I like it. It focuses on content, and leaves the images and video to the end. You should use it.

Ehhh i prefer the current one honestly.
For me it feel weird to see a huge layout between VN description, better to leave it at the bottom.

Author's imitate the way people talk. Young adult fiction imitates the way young adults speak without replicating the way young adults speak, because the results would be utterly tragic. And they definitely don't write like a young adult.

    @Tay
Things remain incredibly broken. Allow me to showcase:

    "Tay  plz."
When looking at this sentence, the keen eye may notice there's not one, but two spaces between the 'y' and the 'p'. However, this is too much for the Link Tool to handle.
When I try to link "Tay  plz.", it becomes "Tay  plz."
The same monstrosity does not morph into existence were I to instead opt for "Tay plz." without the troublesome fiend that is the extra space. Look: "Tay plz."

    Tay plz.

An excerpt of the translations, taken just after Sumika bonked Takeru for groping her boobs while she was trying to wake him up:
Some of these differences are minor, but have subtle differences in the meaning, such as "so hard" instead of "that hard." "That hard" implies a very specific level of being hit at he's uncomfortable with, while "so hard" implies a broader range, he's mostly not okay with being hit hard at all.
With the second line, Amaterasu's version makes Sumika feel more passive and kind of whiny, while the revised translation makes her sound more assertive. "It's your fault" is what you say when shifting the blame, "It's your own fault" is something you say from a more detached position, when you don't think you had or deserved any of the blame in the first place.
Then there's just a lot of minor, obvious improvements. "Squeeze" instead of "move" for instance. "Your hand moved" is not at all obvious in its actual meaning, and the moment you have to think about a straightforward joke is the moment it becomes way less funny.
Overall, all of the minor accuracy improvements (such as "Why not" instead of "Why would you say that") makes the dialogue flow so much better. Like, every line actually feels like a response to the previous line in the Degica version, while the Amaterasu version felt like it was full of more non-sequiturs. It gives the dialogue a snappier back-and-forth dynamic to it that simply makes it funnier and more interesting to read.
And the final few lines in this sequence make so much more sense in the Degica version. The simple "I'm sorry......" made it unclear exactly what he was apologizing for, and it felt like it came out of nowhere. "Look, I'm sorry alright?" feels like the kind of insincere apology that Takeru would give, while the nature of the apology makes it more apparent that he's apologizing for groping her. And so when he immediately takes it back, that take-back has more impact when the apology itself isn't so confusing. And the nature of the take-back is just so much better in the new version. "...yeah right" with lowercase Y and all, feels so weak that you actually have to wonder what it was for. It could even be mistaken for a retort to Sumika's last line saying that he can't act like an idiot forever, which isn't the case.
Overall, the new script is so drastically better in almost every single line that I cannot even begin to fathom how anyone could prefer the old Amaterasu version. The old version was a confusing, boring mess, the new version feels snappy and even kinda funny, which is something I didn't think was possible for Muv Luv. Takeru comes off as being cockier, and this cocky attitude is pretty amusing in the new version. I was so insanely bored by Extra when I read it a few years ago, but this new version actually feels readable and mildly entertaining in its own way. The content is still pretty insipid, but perhaps the dialogue can actually inspire some occasional laughs now.
But they did use the em dash improperly, so actually this is a garbage tier translation.

    Weekly update.
This week has been a little slow for both me and the editor. Still, there is some progress. I am currently working on Futaba's bad ending, and will hopefully wrap up the entire Futaba route in the coming weeks. After that, Ichika's route (the longest of the two) will be all that is left.
Anyways, here is the progress, see you next week.

If @solidbatman or @Decay want me to re-do a few banners to 16:9s (or so), just let me know which ones. I think the long banners are mostly okay. Some of Ryechu's are ugly, now, but they're part of the nukige series and I didn't feel like looking around for alternatives. The other one I can remember, Decay's Euphoria, actually looks kinda cool. But just let me know. I'll be going through into more detail tomorrow since I'll have time to look into it finally (fuck everything about ancient Greek plays I am so damn sick of reading them).

My main complaint is the about section. Why in gods name did you choose Little Busters! images. I want no part of this community anymore if we chose that monstrosity to represent us.

In all seriousness, I like the direction. Again, more detailed observations and feedback tomorrow.

Everything is in alphabetical order now! I'm so happy about that now!
    I'll give my input....
Linux needs to be added to the 'Platforms' category. (I'm aware that not many VNs are available on Linux, but I think it'd be best to cover all bases.) M > M needs to be added for the female audience under 'Relationship Type'.  (Not valid, as I read the 'Updates' and saw that it will be added.) Alphabetical order should be applied to the results of the filters. (Not an issue, but something I thought I'd address.) Suggestions....
Nothing to suggest at this time.

    7/10 Updates
    Fixed/Addressed:
@Nosebleed - Change the rounded sort-by-release-type section on http://fuwanovel.net/visual-novels-browse/ - Um. No. But thanks. I'd prefer to see you suffer.  @Silvz- "New releases are showing stuff from 2014" - I mentioned this in my post. Right now I've only uploaded a handful of games to see how the site does under load. @Silvz - Moving twitter up - I'll definitely play around with this over time. Right now the twitter widget isn't working very well, anyway, so I'm going to eventually scope out other options. @Kenshin_sama - Strange options in the feedback survey - If it was perfectly implemented at-launch, it just wouldn't have that buggy Fuwanovel goodness. ; P  @Silvz - Search bars for custom post types (reviews, VNs, etc.) - Excellent point. Should be coming later today. @kingdomcome - Fixed with a crappy, temp fix. Thanks! @Decay - Forums VNTS menu item broken - Fixed! @Decay - One Small Fire Review is missing - Restored! @Decay - VNs retain odd information - Yep. Post time is actually useful: it'll be used to mark the game's or patch's release, so that'll stay. Author, however, is something a bit more complicated. It'll either be removed, or it'll be switched to represent the patch or publisher of the game. @Decay - SonoHana games reviews section oddities - Yep. I've already addressed that in each of the Sono Hana games' description section. It'll be specific to the SonoHana games, and isn't something I expect to do with any other games or series. @Decay - Game page layout with possible sidebar - I agree with you, and that's been my plan for the games pages: having an integrated sidebar with those bits that runs down the right side of the page, while removing the true sidebars. That's why the individual VN pages' sidebar is empty atm. In-Progress:
@Amuzie - Request Desktop Site - Hm. You can do this on your phone's browser, but you're looking for a link/button on the site itself to do that, right? That's something I'll need to look into. Right now the site is set up to be responsive by design. @Decay - Review Header Images Problem - I'll get them all straightened out today. I have to edit some stuff about each review, anyway @Decay - Limitations of WP games pages vs database - Well-said, and exactly right. A fuller database implementation IS coming, but it's something we're going to need to save up for. I collected a grand total of 22 bids to do the front site coding, and for what we wanted, the bill was going to be between $7000 for a relatively inexperienced coder to $25,000 for a mid-to-top-ish tier developer. (Just going to stop and point out that @Nayleen would absolutely qualify as top-tier, and consistently donates an unbelievable amount of time to help us out. We're very, very lucky to have you, Nay. Thank you for all you do.) I'm scoping out custom coding to get a custom plugin to pull from a custom games DB and feed into a design template we can modify at any time. So that's where we're headed. At some point when things settle down and I can publish an updated site financial report, I'll try and put all of this down on paper. But, yeah, we're saving up for that. This is not the final solution.
