  1. Confession: I feel quite similar. I think to myself quite often "ah, I'm so glad I have visual novels - the characters will always be there, they won't hurt me (OK this one's debatable... thanks, nakige) and I can be someone else in another world. VISUAL NOVELS WILL NEVER DISAPPOINT ME."
  2. Here is a pretty boy. If only I were an anime girl figure I could be ogled by him, alone together in his shipping container~ Hello! It's really nice to see a post like yours, I hope maybe I can post something as positive in a year.
  3. I really like Skyclad Observer too. I watched the anime before I played the vn, and although Hacking to the Gate is a great song (and I guess maybe fits the anime better), when Skyclad Observer plays it felt to me like embarking on something epic. Which, y'know, is true. I get quite a different impression from New Dawn: certainly I find it an emotional (and sad) song, but I get a strong feeling of catharsis from it - kind of "our long journey is over, we went through a lot, we sacrificed a lot, but the sakura blossoms are in bloom and we're still here to watch them together - and remember those who aren't by our side".

    Yo

Hullo fellow unlurker! I made myself a VNDB very recently come to the dark side...
  5. I like it when there's a "return to previous choice" button. It's probably rather common already though.

  7. WHAT'S UP MY FELLOW VITA LATECOMERS Muramasa: Rebirth for a beautiful handpainted artwork Vanillaware metroidvania. I've mainly used mine for digital PSP games so far, like Corpse Party and Persona PSP. Also I bought htoL#NiQ and Yomawari but I haven't checked them out yet. Oh and I second the other posts.
  8. I adore Yoru no Himawari from Subahibi: Fate/stay night's New Dawn (the title screen theme when you've completed the vn): Everything from Symphonic Rain: The House in Fata Morgana OST is stellar: I have a soft spot for Narcissu Side 2nd's OP: And I love the wonderful FES from Phantasm (Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate):
  9. @Dreamysyu that's a really nice photograph of you
  10. Correct! I was trying to be abstract, it's hard when something involves time travel as it's a dead giveaway to mention that... And I can't think of an obtuse way to describe time travel.
  11. TV dinners ruin the world. A broken lightsaber fails to save it.
  12. I'm working on a theory that most Fuwa members are really girls rping as guys
  13. I went for Kajiri Kamui Kagura too, and also Interview with Kaziklu Bey on the offshot that MG are in with a chance because they're selling Dies Irae 18+... Also Aoishiro because yuri.
  14. It's probably higher than it should be because I let a few words slip through that I'm not confident of: http://testyourvocab.com/result?user=9512506
  15. @Zander won't be able to understand you!
  16. Fate Stay Night Know the joys of mapo tofu
  17. @NowItsAngeTime I'm guessing no Nitro+ either though
  18. I really don't know which three titles to put down. I don't want to put down titles that are obviously never going to be picked up by MG, but I don't know how to determine that!
  19. @SajkoWolfe I don't know if I'm qualified to welcome anyone yet but hey fellow (sort of) newbie! I've never been active myself though. Enjoy delving into vns again! Hope you read many and they're even better than you remember!
  20. I finished it recently too! Want to mop up the few remaining Steam achievements though. Best end is either laser tag route or, of course, mai waifu Sunohara.
  21. I second the Narcissu suggestion, it's quite short (and kinetic) but seriously packs a punch. Otherwise Amnesia: Memories I found to be a nice otome with an interesting enough plot and lovely bishies. Thirdly, you could try fault: milestone one. It's short and kinetic like Narcissu, but is fantasy with fascinating world building and concepts. However don't expect full professional quality from it, and don't expect much plot progression in a linear direction! It spends a lot of its time fleshing out a new character and explaining her backstory.
  22. I've been inspired by the "Make vns popular in the West" topic to ask: How did you get into visual novels? More specifically, what factors, if any, made it difficult to take up the hobby? I personally had big problems at first adjusting to the (slower) pace of visual novels, and gave up on titles that later became favourites. For that reason if I were to try to introduce someone to VNs, I'd start with a short kinetic novel.
  23. To clarify, I don't think it's the only reason visual novels aren't more popular, but a very significant one. Working on your "wrong market" theory: do you think if people could, say, easily buy and play a vn on their e-reader alongside traditional e-books, this would help?
