  1. I think I'm in the camp of "there's essentially a massive amount of reading in most vns, and reading is not that popular". I also think there's a high entry barrier: at least for me, personally, getting into visual novels was difficult. I was already a weeb and fond of reading, so that wasn't the problem - rather it was hard knowing what to expect from the medium, and crucially, becoming accustomed to their pacing. I think it's interesting to compare, say, comics/manga and visual novels. Both have text and visuals, and are not a genre but rather a medium. It's also tricky, imo, to get into them and enjoy them at first. Oh, and both are often not taken seriously despite incredible works in each. How did other fuwaposters find their first visual novel experiences? Was it easy to enjoy them straight off, or did it take time?
  2. This. I can't stand to think of having missed endings. I think it's fun to see how badly wrong things can go. And as mentioned some vns have bad ends with story. I like to visualise all the different routes and branching paths from choices as a map of that particular visual novel's universe, and it saddens me to think of not finding out all its facets, good or bad. Although admittedly when there's a very large number of or difficult to find ends I sometimes give up.
  3. @mitchhamilton I'm more worried about cut content/censorship. @Dreamysyu I've been postponing making one for a while! I'm sure it would be a good idea, thanks. I've read a little of Higurashi a while ago and plan to restart.
  4. I personally kinda enjoy it when you're presented with multiple choices that are all the same. I wish I had the image for this but I think there's a choice in Air with Michiru where you can:
  5. I have literally read only one otomege, and it was Amnesia: Memories. It's made me want to read more otomege myself, is quite cheap on Steam (really cheap on sale), not overly long either.
  6. Wow, thank you everyone for all the welcomes! I'm not sure I'll have anything at all new or interesting to offer regarding vns, but I'll post anyway. @Plk_Lesiak I usually don't read OELVNs but I've been planning to at least check out Katawa Shoujo for a while now. @mitchhamilton I've heard good things about the actual VN, but horrible things about the official English release. @Zander Thanks! I've only really read Amnesia:Memories, and I picked up Ozmafia recently. I prefer to play on PC and lots of the otome releases seem to be confined to Vita/console. @Ranzo I concur. The purest form of love~ My yuri journey has only just begun. @r0xm2n I want to play it, but preferably uncensored and I don't have a credit card for Denpasoft @Kawasumi I'm just about trying
  7. Thanks for the welcome guys, if anyone has a favourite vn they'd want anyone to play I'd like to hear it. A little shitposting is good for the soul.
  8. I created an account a while ago but I'm only getting round to actually posting now. I'm usually a bit shy when it comes to being active on a forum although I've lurked here for a while, follow VNTS and have been aware of Fuwanovel for quite some time. I admire this community and I'd love to try and be an active part of it! My interest in VNs only seems to grow, having started ~3 years ago. I adore, to name five, Saya no Uta, Tsukihime, Subahibi, Chaos;Head and Symphonic Rain. I think I like a relatively wide range of VNs, although I have barely even scratched the surface! I've been delving into and enjoying both a bit of yuri and otome recently. Yoroshiku!
