  1. Well, interestingly written long sentences, which kinda realistically represents real character thoughts are not a trigger to me. Whats triggering me is this: yuck.
  2. ...I read that this is a 'twist' on this cliche. Like showing the dark side of Nekopara-world, if you really started to think about rules of it.
  3. This second screen is actually great. I'll give it a try.
  4. I came here to get answers to my question...but this thread is not about it. So I will attach myself here: How good is Ebi-Hime? Somebody read his/theirs work and ca nwrite something about them?
  5. First one here to mention this, at least. Good catch, I surely missed it. But I think that's just a typo.
  6. Yup. Probably. Protag in 11e was, at the beginning, He wasn't 'hurrdurr, nobody likes me, why is everything against me, whole world is cesspool and I'm the biggest piece of shit of it all', etc. Far from that.
  7. I specially wanted to avoid that, so I put wifi 'thing' out of my laptop, to not have the urge to check anything while reading.
  8. Well, I just read your review and from the start I know I don't trust any word you're saying, cause you found Comyu enjoyable. ...and I actually disagree the strongest about the protagonists. I like him very much. Well, maybe little more at the beginning when he was really brooding, but I never stopped liking him. Disagree about the routes as well - I really like this system, but I'm a fan of linear storytelling, so I'm a little biased. What else? Glad to hear that 'comedic duo' is getting shuffled - I'm around 12-14h in and they almost disappeared, which is great. Also - unexpectedly I'm really liking Yukiko. She annoyed the hell out of me on her first scene, but then..while not changing herself not one bit, she quckly grew herself on me. Somehow. And for a not so good things: I want more story! Too much of SoL right now, I want some meat. But the 'gang' is assembled, everything should move on right now. I hope.
  9. Wonder if any of you Fata readers, would agree that chapter is definitelly the worst one. Most boring, with not so much emotions in it. Every other chapter is from 'freaking great' to 'ultra awesome', but that one... not so much. 11eyes. Rant incoming. I really liked it. Cliched slice of life, but with great 'moments/scenes' of really creepy, horor-esque atmosphere (red night!), with really grounded depressed protagonist, who is not and 'edgy teen angster' at the same time. Buuuut. there is a 'comedy duo': unfunny perverted friend, and his childhood "friend", tsundere piece of shit. I fucking hate "characters" like her. :< Why is she here. She ruins every single one scene she's in. She's abusive with words and behaviour at every moment, but here is the newest little example: She took games from her "friend" and brutally destroyed them, just because he took them to school [they were not even on school grounds], and then when he was crying at what he is going to do now, those wasn't only his, but whole club possesions, she angrily replied "ITS NOT MY FAULT, you should not have bring those to school and show them in my presence". This is really my pet peeve when somebody physical possesion is destroyed with maliceness by other character. I hate tsunderes. Really fucking hate. And I hate those filthy scumbags, eroge writters, than never, not once, wrote a male character, who would stood up to terryfyingly abusive behaviour of tsundere princesses. And I'm not talking about fair punch in the face, which I would be delighted to see, no - they never even get angry. That's the reason I dropped Clannad [this + airheadness of whole 'nottsundere' rest of the cast]. And if situation will not get better, this will be a reason I'll drop 11eyes as well... Which is a shame, because setting is really interesting, music is great, technically is great, system is neat, characters, while cliched, are at least explained [f.e. why protag is hanging out with his stupid as a shoe childhood-animal-like-friend is clearly revealed and I have no problems with that here [which is a rarity, I never 'buy' relations like that in other VNs] and I don't know anything about story yet. I want to enjoy it. But no. Tsundere. :<
  10. - Full screen all the way, even 640x480 titles. I don't care about slight blur, I can't fully immerse when the game is not the only thing at the screen. - Even if sometimes it's nice to have a window with VN and walkthrough open in Chrome righ alongside each other, I will never say that lower resolutions for window playing are better. - The only thing I trully hate is ratio changing. 4:3 should forever stay in 4:3 (untill it gets a full blown remake, from a scratch). No cropping, no streching [f-you, youtube VN-reading assholes].
  11. Just got an idea...what about Trinoline? Is coming out in Japan soon, and this dude from Minori at some X-Expo said that MG will be releasing this, but since then it was a totall silence.
  12. Finished Majikoi A2. Monshiro was meh, Seiso/Hegemon was GREAT, and finally - Cookie was 'ok'. Till the turning point around 2/3 in. And whoa it became so, so great. Awesome soundtrack, best in the series so far, great story, veriety of strong emotions, and one totally awesome CG that (along with the music in that scene, 'Wind blows throuygh my body' or something similiary tittled. Sadly - I didn't found it on youtube) made me incredibly hyped for... Baldr Sky and Schwarzesmarken. Moar serious and dark mecha VNs, please! One of the other awesome pieces in soundtrack for Cookie route: I love Majikoi.
  13. Welp, not really. Translating speeds are very, very different. Basing on how long FataMorgana addition is 'in translation', one might think this is a really long VN, when it's only a 2-10h on vndb. And something like Dal Segno was translated in almost no-time (AFAIK).
  14. This seems like something made specially for me. I love giving routes/characters grades around 1-3/10. ^^
  15. Pros: - Good (not great, but still) premise - All ages from the beginning - Original, not overlly moe art - Yuri (usually means less stupid perverntess in """jokes""") Cons: - Chuuni and yuri mix - might create a mess. - Six(!) writters - might create an inconsistent mess - Clephas mini-rewiev raised few problems with pacing and character development. Soooo.... yeah, I'm totally giving this a chance, even when I couldn't make myself to care enough for Tokio Babel to even read through whole demo.
  16. Branches from choices are pretty short, so you probably should check them all 'on the way'.
  17. I like you. Tell me that you hate Sachi as well, after she willingly because she was lazy as fuck.
  18. Clannad bashing thread, huh? It really makes me want to come back to reading it. Anywayz. 1) Danganronpa 2. In every aspect other than 'no FPP exploration' it was better than first game. And then the final chapter/trial/ending happened. So baffling, so stupid, so convoluted, so bad it made me go through trial by walkthrough, because I jsut didn't cared anymore. 2) Swan Song True end. Shitty, overlly happy and out of place forced ending to perfectly builded, depressing game. 'Normal end' is my headcanon true end. Official 'True End' is shit. Fields of Himawari my ass. VNs made me hate sunflowers. ;d 3) Muv Luv Alternative. Final chapter was very rushed, skpping big parts of the story, and then giving emotional-less [big spoiler] which were so bad written, that gave me only completly 'meh' reaction. Other than this aspect - I really liked the finale. 4) Ever17 - Final route was very mediocre. Instead of giving explanations to already presented 'unknowns', it suddenly shows a lot of new plot points and didn't gave a time to start caring about them. Rushed, baffling, unnconvincing, dissapointing. Special recommendation to; Sharin no kuni - Whole VN (except for maybe really funny comedic first chapter) was shit, but this ending was an icing on the cake. This whole 'fuck this I'm out' after series of totally ridiculous and unbelievable scenes was like a perfect ending for this title.
  19. I always liked reading your reviews, even though I disagree with you probably most of the times. Anyway - good read, thanks. Next point: You have almost the same grade as me (5.3), but in majority for different reasons. Agree about pacing and art though. Disagree about after stories. 2048-2050 was a fart, but Komorebi is best part of the game for me. It lays down new interesting (much more interesting!) concepts, do it in much better (almost moe-less) way and is very well paced. Next in 'best to worst' hierarchy I would put 2048, while having Daigo who ruins everything, it was still nice, melancholic, moody and interesting piece of work. On the last place of the podium - Kagerou. Not as good as Komorebi, but still have a lot of pluses. But afterstories being afterstories, with completly new cahracters and big plot points - this resulted in 'additional' -0,2 from me for a 'structure' of this VN. It was messy, uncohesive, jumbled and not thought out well enough.
  20. Finished Himawari. My spreadsheet: It would be a really good VN, if it would be like last two 'Afterstories'. Much better written, much more intersting characters, (shitty graphics in only ~5 CGs, no sprites at all, thank god), much better themes and ideas , which was completly absent in "main" story (which is ridiculous, whole structure of this VN is very jumbled). But anyway - this really decent/good last hours with this title provided me with much needed tranquilizers, and therefore I will not have a PTSD from this title (this 'honor' belongs for now only for Sharin no Kuni, Killer Queen and partially - Grisaia1, and Hoshizora no Memoria). Overall it's a waste of time. Not really 'different' from 'regular' charage, interesting setting is completly unutilized, characters are awfull(Aqua) to not intersting(Aries in 2048) at best and it have single one most terrible character I ever witness. Chinami from Hoshizora? Pff. Kazuna from Cartagra? Not even close. Touka from Sharin no Kuni? Okey, she's close, but only close. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you Amamiya Daigo. Worst. Character. Ever. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I also finished Seiso route in Majikoi A2. 9/10, great route. A lot of 'slightly chuuni' motives, some battles of wits, great romance and relationship progress and very fitting and surprisingly good written (I read them in their entirety!) H scenes. Very satysfying 5-6 hours. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...and started Air, by Key. I like the start it was funny. Riddiculous, retarded - yes - but funny. I hate from the start only two 'side' characters, which is a very good sign in charage (I loathed almost whole cast, protag included, in Clannad, and that's why I dropped it in the middle of the first 'big' route, Tomoyo). I like the atmosphere, I like music, I like humour.... but nothing great in here as of yet. I started with Tohno Minagi route, heard it's the best one, so I expect to enjoy it a lot. That's all for today, Vorathiel out.
  21. I'm glad to see this, thanks and congrats for winning this fight! Let's see if new Maji A series will be able to receive higher average rating than Maji S (as it was with one, combined entry).
  22. Obligatory: G-Maou is good, but Sharin no Kuni is worst shit ever written. Now, having that out of the way, main content of my post: Did you read 'A Profile'? It's translated and it's the first visual novel written by Looseboy. It's not great, but it's not insulting either. If you really like Looseboys' style, you should check it out.
  23. ...after hearing over and over again how incredible some VNs are because of their prose, I started to think that they're utter shit, but beutifully written. If the story and characters can't hold up with less than perfect translation -> it wasn't a good story to begin with. And in VNs: Story >>>>> Characters >>> Everything else (prose, graphics, music and so on).
  24. I came here only to say - it's really a missed opportunity to not bring VNs (maybe smaller, older titles?) to mobile phones.
