I normally instinctively avoid media that is the source of so much debate poison, but since it's considered a classic by so many people I follow, I decided to take the plunge and start watching NGE.

Anything by Imaishi, though I assume you've already seen it Redline (animation and designs are jaw-dropping, directing is decent, rest is meh) I could go on for quite a while, but it'd be helpful to know what you've already seen

I don't really know your taste, but Flip Flappers is pretty enjoyable for me. It's basically a cross between FLCL, Utena and Alice in Wonderland. Also, it's vewwy vewwy pwetty

My stepbrother gave me the first volume of Boku no Hero Academia, and it's the first shounen i've ever read or watched. Pretty good time so far.

I'm going to assume that's mostly because of your love of kitsune, but I have to say, out of all ecchi harems I've watched, Kanokon was the only one that I thought was actually decently written (not that I would know), and wasn't just endlessly recycled blueballing gags with girls wanting the mc's D for no reason. For me, it's Ponyo. I don't know about casual watchers, but I think most serious anime/Miyazaki fans don't like it. I personally think it's the purest example of what's great about his style, and it's my favourite of his films because of that.
