  1. By craft, I mean something being made; forging, weaving, carpenting etc. I'd also be satisfied with something that emphasises the results of those crafts; something with historically accurate and detailed houses, weapons, furniture etc. Chihayafuru isn't what I'm looking for, though I've heard it's quite good anyway.
  2. It's a bit late, but I just remembered something. I think the point of him being in his wolf form while they had sex was a kind of relief for him. He had been taught to be ashamed of and hide that part of him his entire life, but now he'd met a woman who loved him, and accepted that part of him, so him being in that form during such an intimate moment was a sign of him accepting himself, a very liberating moment, I suppose. After that, he is seen accepting his inner wolf more and more, as he starts hunting for food for his child. I just watched Ninja Scroll by the way, I thought it was all pretty forgettable, I didn't really feel the point. can anyone who considers it a classic comment?
  3. What the title says. I'd like to watch/read something with lots of satisfying old craftsmanship going on (not necessarily taking place in ancient times, but a craft that has mostly remained unchanged for ages, anyway). For reference, watch Kaguya-hime no Monogatari and skip to 20:20. (or just watch the whole movie, it's a masterpiece, but that's beside the point). Nice and detailed art/animation is mandatory, and if it's anime, a nice (soothing?) soundtrack is also preferred. Beside that, I don't care about anything. Not what it's about, how well it's written etc. Suggestions for any other medium/culture are fine too, but I'm mostly interested in stuff from and/or about Japan
  4. So basically, you're asking for iyashikei without slice of life? not sure if that's even possible, depending on your definition of SOL. Anyway, I'd suggest Valhalla, which seems like what you're asking, medium length, comfy, great music/atmosphere and more focused on worldbuilding than SOL. beside that, I can only think of things that aren't vns.
  5. Oh come on, he's half human. It's furry at most Seriously though, why care? surely, love transcends everything?
  6. Finally watched Wolf Children, would have been a 10/10 sobfest had the music been as perfectly composed as all the other elements. As it is, still absolutely worth a watch or 2
  7. I think Colbert said it best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXhFGO8R7aU This hell of an election is over, now stop this divide, stop this mutual fear and hate and accept that neither side is THAT bad. Trump isn't really a massive idiot who will set the country back 20 years and Hillary isn't really a corrupted hag who would have have caused WW3. We can still get through this.
  8. For a moment I thought you were talking about THE Yotsuba, and I considered pointing out you were colour-blind. Anyway, I don't really care about any of these, so I'm gonna be a hipster and suggest Komoe Tsukuyomi, the drinking, smoking loli teacher, instead.
  9. Gonna have to agree with watcher there, you're comparing the production of a vn with a game that isn't even really a vn. compared to most anime, the animation in the Days games is extremely sporadic and not even very good, see what i did there? Most of your other arguments are your (valid) opinion, and would be worth discussing if you'd actually elaborate on them a bit
  10. Please, people, don't forget about the most noble and artistic subset of otaku culture https://exhentai.org/g/984211/898a85dbd9/ I'm so sorry for this, but the dialogue is just so good.
  11. It's not that long, I'm not a fast reader and my steam library says 58 hours. also, I think it's important not to underestimate the fantasy elements. If you just treat it like a realistic, honestly written coming-of-age story, you'll probably think the ending is the worst thing since Hitler.
  12. I'm very confused (though also interested) by all that, especially the colours part. First off, I don't think it's wise (or nice) to just exclusively ask for veterans. I'm not a veteran by any means, but I am a huge lover of art like yourself (as I explain here, I hope you consider reading it) and I think the experience/advice of someone like me is no less valuable than that of someone with a firmly established idea of what's good and what's bad in media. In my experience, most people here care more about writing, and just distinguish between 'good art', 'bad art' and 'old art'. But I digress. I can't really answer your question, so I suppose you're not wrong for asking for veterans either. (though if you haven't played it already, I do recommend the game Transistor, which uses a lot of what you would call purple and green, with a strong influence of art-nouveau and Klimt) I'd love to talk to you about the nature of art in multimedia fiction sometime though, my enjoyment of art seems to be quite different from yours. Art, to me, is not just there to create some high-concept colourful atmosphere like you seem to desire, but more to channel the artist's emotions. It can be extremely beautiful even when it's extremely drab. I'd also love to see your MAL if you have one. Good luck in your search anyway.
  13. https://exhentai.org/g/988681/dc0db685f9/ This counts I guess?
  14. I was a lurker on Kazamatsuri for a while before discovering Fuwa, apart from that, nothing. @Palas I'm really curious why now
  15. Thanks. Also, no one's guessed mine yet surely it's not hard?
  16. I have no idea, but I need it in my life also, isn't TLP in space anyway?
