  1. I don't know Cowboy Bebop much other than I watch an episode on Animax and then forget about it, but apparently it's more well known in the Western if TV Trope keep listing it in several tropes is any indication. For Silent Mobius, it's the same as Cowboy Bebop but at least I sort of remember the opening vaguely. Fancy Lala here is the last attempt of Pierrot to revive their 1980's magical girl series and failed, and I only glanced it at Saturday morning on Animax only to promptly drop it because it hasn't Indonesian sub. Yu-Gi-Oh - I can say that the card game in 1998 anime is as confusing as modern day card game, although it's not because on the player need to memorized a lot of combo and the strategy that each archetype have (Or which deck that would be good for competitive duel), but because the ruling is so different compared to what we have nowadays. Anyway to save your time, I may as well tell you to just skip future Yu-Gi-Oh anime seeing that all of those are have more than a hundred episodes and most of the time it focused on the filler card game, with the latest finished Yu-Gi-Oh (SEVEN) has the least number of episodes, at 92 episodes. Oh yes 1998 anime here still has some non card game focus, although it change as soon as the card game become very popular, in which it happen thanks to the late author did Magic reference only to have that reference to be very popular. Cardcaptor Sakura - There's a lot to talk about this one, with one of those is on how the Nelvana dub version screwed this a lot. I can say that Sakura here is the lightest CLAMP work (And the most popular), although it didn't mean that they can't be daring, in which they wrote a love story that make so-called most forbidden love in Damekoi look tame (Understandably the TV version cut that story). Anyway Sakura here is the magical girl series, although unlike usual series Sakura here didn't have magical girl costume, but instead the costumes was provided by her best friend/fans/second cousin Tomoyo. While there are some story happening in here, ultimately the series is an episodic one with Sakura need to deal with the trouble in the neighborhood by using her ability to invoke the magic through the cards. Also since there's no K-ON in 1998, understandably they go with the cutest girl at that time in which it's obviously Sakura. Oh yes, I like the third opening here courtesy of Sakamoto Maaya as the singer. That's all for my comment on Spring 1998 anime, and it's funny that two anime that I talked about a lot here are about card lol.
  2. ADV here is obviously the more prominent format, seeing that it allow the player to see the visual in which it's obviously the main selling point of the VN (Duh), so I never consider it as the way to allow faster narrative. Anyway, obviously ADV here would allow the people to enjoy the visual, so the drawings should be good if one want to use ADV. Of course seeing that nukige here is specialized in the visual excitement, almost if not all nukige would use ADV, although maybe one can use NVL format if they want to describe on what's going inside the people mind when they have sex. By the way I don't know which nukige that had NVL format here, so I may be wrong on this. NVL will obstruct the visual, so obviously the art is put in the second after the narrative, with the main example is When They Cry in which it seems Ryukishi realized that as well if Rose Guns Days is any indication (He decided to use ADV there and he decided to hire several other artists with better drawing to drew several characters). That said, just because the format is NVL didn't mean that it can't have good visual, as Mahoyo (And obviously Fate) shown us, although evidently Nasu here put more focus on the narrative if his 400 pages of proto-Mahoyo here is any indication. Well if I want to summarize it, it's kind of funny that ADV and NVL here is basically put the emphasize on the two words of 'Visual Novel' itself, with ADV put more focus on the 'Visual' part and NVL put more focus on the 'Novel' part. Whichever is the best, well it's up to each person, although looking from how 19,000 VN are using VNDB easy to say people prefer to put the focus on the visual (Which to be fair is easier to promote compared to the narration).
  3. Yes it happen, and here the link to the tweet in regard of it. While you can get it on Steam, it would be better to get it from Johren if possible or use the 18+ patch if you still get it from Steam, because Steam version has several issue, with the major one is they removed Kazari's route in Steam version. I have no idea on why Shiravune need to cut her route, or why Valve seems didn't like her route seeing that they've been okay with principal heroine in Majokoi. That issue aside, I've been waiting to see the VN like this so good for Shiravune. PS - It's been a while since I did list the characters along with their VAs, so let me try to do it now. 1. Asuka Minato After Minato's grandmother passed away, Minato was suffer a big loss. Fortunately Kazari who is raised by Minato's grandmother was willing to take Minato under Kazari's care, so Minato come into Kazari's school where she act as the principal with said school is only for the upper class girl. While there's a lot of complication happen, it didn't matter for Minato who already got a lot of skills that the grandmother taught, so much that Minato can do the chores easier than the girls around Minato (Which to be fair is not that hard for Minato seeing that the girls are quite ditzy). Minato's VA is Ayumi Sarah, and her roles are Anneliese from Kimagure Temptation, Ayasaki Yuu from Bokukotsu, Yuragi from Evenicle 2, and Kousaka Mayuri from Flowers tetralogy. Oh yes in case you're noticed that I didn't use the pronoun for Minato, it's because I'd try to hide the gender, and yes Minato here is our male MC for Otome Domain in which he's very cute like female. 2. Saionji Kazari She was under the care of Minato's grandmother, and when Minato lost his grandmother Kazari decided to take care of him, including allowed him to attend Kazari's school with him must dressed up as a girl (Which is very easy to do, much to his dismay). While Kazari here is the school principal, unfortunately it didn't stop her for being ditzy, especially with her spent more effort to use bottle when she wants to pee instead of using the less bothersome (And more rational) option by going to the toilet. Kazari's VA is Anzu Hana, and her roles are Kawamura Reo from Sono Hanabira franchise, Noa from Sorcery Jokers, Ese Ren from Ne no Kami (Replacing the late Mochi Yomogi), and Konohana Yuka from Hokejo. 3. Oogaki Hinata Out of all the heroines, she came off as the most normal one. Although it's less because she has no quirk and more because her quirk is merely being a chuunibyou, with her acting as the cadre of a vague evil organization. Her background is that her family was suddenly getting rich so much that she's able to attend Kazari's school, although Hinata here is too busy caught up in her fantasy so much that she didn't have time to be smug about her fortune. Hinata's VA is Himekawa Airi, with her roles are Gurigura from Evenicle, Nanase Momoka from Imouto Paradise 2, Cook from Eiyuu Senki, and Kuranaga Kozue from Yosuga no Sora. 4. Kifune Yuzu While it seems that she's quite normal, don't be fooled because I did say that Hinata here is the most normal. As for her quirk, she has very different standard when it come to cooking compared to the other people. By different I mean that she cook the food to be as inedible as possible, and thus nobody want her to be in the kitchen (Especially after both Kazari and Hinata felt sick after caught the smell of Yuzu's 'cooking'). Other than being terrible at cooking, Yuzu here is also very bad at tidying her room. Yuzu's VA is Ueda Akane with her roles are Magellan from Eiyuu Senki, Nogi Tamie from Princess Evangile (Coincidentally both Yuzu and Tamie are the member of School Newspaper Club), Nanase Chiharu from Imouto Paradise 2, and Arisugawa Arle from Bokukotsu.
  4. Interestingly, according to one of the review Hamaji's route here can be said as the prototype of Sakura no Uta, so we can say that the translator will translate Sakura no Uta from a certain point of view. Although as for whether he'll take on the actual Sakura no Uta or not, well nobody know (Moreso if we know that it'll be very tasking task thanks to it having a very big number of lines).
  5. Welcome to Fuwanovel, and it's nice that we got another artist joining the forum. No much to say other than I hope that you'll have fun in here.
  6. @NC131 Welcome to Fuwanovel and sorry for the belated greeting. No much to say other than congratulation on your first game release, and I hope that you'll have fun in here.
  7. For the info the OP has a lot of problem that caused by his own complex. That said, even with taking account to the complex, what the OP wish here is simply very demanding, considering that the VN scene in Western is still not as much as in Japan yet, and those kinds of VN is basically need a lot of resources along with time to produce. So yeah, it would be better to not put too much stress on representative and self insert, but instead it would be better to just enjoy the VN as it is. Then again, if the OP able to do that, I doubt that he would post his demand request here.
  8. I thought that it's already have the translation as well, only to be turned out that it still hasn't. Honestly speaking I don't exactly know on how to port the translation, although looking from the engine (Kirikiri), it should be not much hard because a lot of VN use it. Then again, compiling all of the translated text in Switch version is a pain on it's own. Oh well, I suppose it's still not the time to see translated Mahoyo in PC yet, but at least now we have the voice in which it's a big step on it's own. Lastly, here's hoping that someday we may have Mahoyo on Steam. PS - Some did comment on what's the point if there's no HD version of Mahoyo in PC, although to me as long as the graphic is not on Ryukishi Umineko or Higurashi level (And non-HD Mahoyo definitely still okay) than I'm fine with it.
  9. Same username as me here lol. Anyway I started to feel that following Koihime Musou here is the exercise in futility because on how many of those, so I gave up lol. Anyway good luck on it, and hopefully you'll manage to do it until the very end.
  10. Koichoco here is technically still has relatively high production value despite being 12 years old VN, so technically speaking this is the most interesting license in AWA, had it not been available in English from back in 2015. So even with on how sprite was supposed to be revived thanks to Nekonyan localize Aokana and thus it's reasonable to have Nekonyan license another sprite VN, I can see if people are sort of disappointed the license, and to be very frank that it still has mosaic is the least thing I care about. Baka Moe Heart, err... well I suppose my comment is still the same on how it seems to be quite a bakage. While our mod Clephas praised it (Admittedly for on how well the VN did what it's intended into), unfortunately Erogamescape users seems to favored less comedy VN. While I understand that some of the license from WillPlus can be quite costly, there's a lot of better title to chose from there (Beside Pulltop's title obviously). In the end, I can only say that I guess at least the graphic is quite good along with on how the artist took the effort to make the uniform for each heroine different. Of course though, my opinion on this may be change later just like Wagahigh (I initially thought that it's just high breast nukige and turned out it's a nice charage), so let's wait and see here. From the reviews that I read about Shinsou Noise, it has some infamy in regard of the ending or something, so perhaps just turned down the expectation may be help. I specifically mention this because I see a number of people complained about Hello Lady twist, and of course they didn't read the spoiler (Duh). The artist of this is also the one who drew euphoria, so at least you can play it for her art if you like it and yet didn't want to play euphoria (Or several other nukige that she design). That said, while there won't be some disturbing sex scene, it should be noted that Shinsou Noise here could be the most dark VN that Nekonyan licensed. Oh yes it also have VA's commentary and the translator already confirm that he'll translate it, which is good seeing that the translator rarely translate that feature. Lastly, even though I can see on how people will have problem with the ending, I still look forward to Shinsou Noise release here. That's all for my belated additional comment on Nekonyan AWA 2022 here.
  11. I know that EXTRA2 here has good production value with longer scenario compared to EXTRA1 and nice opening song, but in the end it's just the fandisc with I personally prefer to see more main game release. That's also the reason why I didn't much interested with Golden Time despite that it bring what Kirikoi fans wanted, and of course has similarly good production value like EXTRA2. Anyway no much to say other than EXTRA2 should be good addition if one want more Misaki and Flying Circus on top also addressed a plot point that has been teased since the main game, and have fun.
  12. That's a nice announcements from JAST I suppose, and hopefully we'll see more Alicesoft title in JAST as well because it can make a nice alternative to Steam (which as we know like to randomly ban a game).
  13. Well I mean at least Eiyuu Senki has good gameplay and Newton has (Surprisingly) good drama along with science talk, so it's not like the developer can't make good game even with trend 'making various famous historical figures into waifus' premise that Adamstan mentioned (Which now that I think of it I guess we should thank Fate franchise for that). As for this, well they should translate it as 'France's future empress' instead of emperor for Napoleon introduction. Also wow the artist surely known how to draw cute girls lol. Seriously speaking, I don't know what to expect from this other than we may get a moege with some politic (And history) talk for the spices, although the author may surprisingly able to write interesting story here even though I won't count on it for now.
  14. From what I read in TV Trope, at least I can say that Outlaw Star protagonist team is an interesting one. For Perfect Blue, let's just say that the movie's story is still relevant even after a quarter century passed, especially with on how dark can be when it come to entertainment industry in Japan (Doubly so when we know that there's the recent manga Oshi no Ko which depict the similar situation). By the way none of Winter 1998 anime here are broadcasted in Indonesia, so that's all for my comment on it.
  15. I don't know Miyu much, so I can't comment much of it. For Battle Athlete, I only know that it also has the reboot version in 2021. 1997 Berserk anime here is obviously the best one, with 2016 version has a lot of trouble behind production and thus can't deliver enough quality, and it didn't help that Berserk is quite hard to adapt in the first place seeing that it's still ongoing and that it has very nice drawings that the late mangaka work very hard on it. For the info the manga is still unfinished yet, so you may wait for a very long time if you want to see the conclusion of it. That's all for my comment in regard of Fall 1997 anime.
  16. Another update in which it inform that Irru will take a rest until the next year, but more importantly it also tell us that we'll going to have Mizuha's patch release on 26th later with all of the process are already done. So you can note the date if you've been waiting for playing Mizuha's route, although it's okay if you chose to wait until Yuzuki's patch release. That's all for the update here.
  17. As long as the engine didn't change, the save from Sagaoz should be still compatible. So yeah it should work, although as for Rewrite+ case then I don't know.
  18. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I shall tell it in PS later even though it should be obvious. As for this week, well to be very blunt not much interesting even with EXTRA2 release, which while admittedly has good production value (Having good graphic and the opening song) on top being one of the better VN in 2022, although in the end it's just a fandisc. We also have Mangagamer released their nukige, and let's just say that said release is not what I want from Mangagamer the most. Lastly we still have some updates from fan translation as usual, so in the end I suppose this week is overall below average. Let's see what I can write in regard of it. Mangagamer did release Hentai Public Service, and once again it's not exactly what I expect from back when Mangagamer announce their December release because I expect Rance IX. Then again, programming the gameplay VN is quite a pain, so perhaps IX still not ready for the release yet. As for the premise, from what I understand in the synopsis we have Jin who is a new public servant on an organization that was tasked to protect the citizen from sexual frustration (Really, that's what the synopsis tell us). So yeah, in here we'll follow Jin and his fellow female workers who dressed in a tacky manner solve the sexual related problem that happen in their neighborhood, and of course they would have a lot of sex being nukige and all. Also honestly speaking I don't find the art is appealing, but different strokes for different people so perhaps some may find the art very exciting. Go get the VN if you want to play it and already been waiting for the release, and have fun. For fan translation updates, we have Chrono's translator released a partial patch that translate three quarter of it, so if you've been desperate to play the nukige then yeah you can try the patch, although it may be better to just waiting seeing that its been already at 80% translated along with three quarter proofread. As for the rest of the updates, we have Shin Koihime Musou is at 61% edited, Ciel's route of Tsukihime Remake has been edited up to day 9 along with has been finalized up to day 7, Planetarian Snow Globe is at 72% translated, Senmomo is at 82.64% edited with Chapter 6 is at 87.75% edited, and H2O is at 67.4% translated with Yui's route is past halfway (59.7%) translated. Almost forget to mention that recently Nursery Rhyme's translator give the update in regard of it, and as of now currently the testing is still ongoing with the crash is still ongoing so that the translator did develop a fix for it Last but definitely not the least, we have Aokana EXTRA2. While I did say that it's just a fandisc, actually it's quite an important release for sprite seeing that they've been bankrupt before even manage to develop this, and they manage to do it thanks to Aokana's sales by Nekonyan. As for the premise of EXTRA2, the most obvious things is that it's Aokana fandisc for Misaki with the timeline is at around her route ending, and interestingly the content is quite different from EXTRA1. Namely that unlike EXTRA1 where the focus is just on how Masaya and Mashiro tried to being the best romantic partner, in here there's some focus on Aokana's main sport, Flying Circus, which make sense seeing that Misaki is one of strong Flying Circus player. While obviously there's still some romance like in EXTRA2, in here Misaki also need to deal with her fame and on how she will take the Flying Circus from now on. Other than obviously put more focus on Misaki, the FD also address a certain plot point that was teased since the main game. Go get EXTRA2 from one of many stores (JAST, Denpasoft, Steam, Mangagamer) if you want more Misaki, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - As for the title, because we have another Aokana FD (EXTRA2) released once again I did make a parody of Kaleido Star anime by changing 'Star' into 'Sky' just like my past VNTS Review, and I add 'OVA 2' as the subtitle in order to synchronized it with EXTRA2. For more elaboration, Aokana here did have a fictional sports called Flying Circus along with having sky as it's motif and Kaleido Star anime here focused on circus, while as for OVA here it's more or less the episodes that weren't broadcasted on TV so usually the animator would be more daring to draw the contents. By the way I just copied what I did wrote in regard of the title from the VNTS Review back when EXTRA1 released, although obviously I changed the number.
  19. Well not what I had in mind when I imagine a big title here, but I guess it's still a big one for some people. Personally speaking I prefer Mangagamer released Rance IX over this, but whatever. Then again doing the testing for gameplay VN is quite a pain indeed from what I'd read, so perhaps IX is still not ready for the release. That aside, well it's definitely for visual excitement being nukige and all, although personally I didn't favor the art so whatever (I'm sure that there are fans who like the art though). Anyway congratulation to Mangagamer in regard of the release, and hopefully we can have more interesting release in 2023 later, with either Raillore or Sona-Nyl.
  20. Well it's quite a dilemma indeed to be either family man or a weeb, and good luck with the testing there.
  21. Well you know it's been a very long wait to have seen this translated when even slight number change in TLC tab on the final script file warrant a forum post. That aside, well good luck to translator to TLC-ed the last ~90% of the last script file.
  22. Visual Novel Translation Status (11/12/2022) Since we have Mahoyo release and that our Nasu was inspired by Evangelion when he wrote it, may as well make the reference to the Evangelion opening song title Cruel Angel Thesis with I changed 'Angel' into 'Sorcerer' so we have 'Cruel Sorcerer Thesis' as this week VNTS Review title. Also while I know that the official translation is 'Witch of the Holy Night', I felt that 'Sorcerer' here may be the most appropriate translation for 'Mahoutsukai', at least according to the article from Japanese with Anime (Also yes I already check the Japanese terms). The title aside, as for this week at least I can say that this is an interesting one compared to the last week especially with Mahoyo release, although personally speaking I'm more interested with Shiravune's plan to release Otome Domain. Overall with Mahoyo release and several updates I think this week is quite interesting, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Other than Mahoyo actually we also have two releases, and what I can say those releases are more or less full of passion because those releases are nukige. The first one is Cherry Kiss VN Knocking Up my Nympho Neighbors in that it has the premise exactly as the translated title said, in that the MC will has a lot of passionate love making with the big breasted neighbors because they're quite tired after long days of works with our MC job is to calmed down through the neighbors' mind with sex (What else). Anyway go get Cherry Kiss nukige if you're interested with it and have fun. The second release is fan translated Oppai no Ouja 48, and from what I understand it's the nukige about breast obsessed MC who somehow gain access to participate in a matching breast game with the prize is to have sex with the breast's owner if the MC find out the matching breast. At least the graphic is quite good I suppose, and feel free to try the VN if you're interested with it. For fan translation updates, we have Chronos is at 60% proofread, Akagoei FD was fully translated (I know that Daybreak was mentioned the plan to translate Virgin Road (ie Tsujidou's FD), although I won't count on it yet), Senmomo is at 81.27% edited with Chapter 6 is at 71.58% edited, ChuSingura is at 16.79% translated, H2O is at 62.9% translated with Yui's route is at 34.6% translated, and Licia's chapter of Eustia is at 94.25% in programming which bring the overall progress is at 98.92% in programming. Oh yes we also have some updates from JAST, although said updates are in the Discord though. For the updates, we have Onigokko FD was fully translated and editing and about to entering QA along with Tokyo Hero Project was fully translated. Shiravune did announce that they'll release Otome Domain on 22nd later, and I should say that out of recent Shiravune recent announcement I find that it's the most interesting announcement, especially because I've been waiting for the VNs that has trap MC and female heroines in which so far the only translated one are Otoboku and Heart de Roomate (To be blunt I don't like the latter graphic). Otome Domain itself is from Palette instead of ensemble (At one time I thought that it's another ensemble VN because they usually specialized on trap VN), so yeah the art is still good even with Tsubasu didn't design the characters in Otome Domain. While there's Bokukotsu cameo in there, turned out that it's only for trial version so don't expect Bokukotsu cameo in the full version later. That said Otome Domain here is basically still has same set up as Bokukotsu anyway, with one MC (Which some dub him as the best girl lol) need to taken care his dormmates because the dormmates are too incapable to taken care themselves. Last but not the least there's Mahoyo release back on 8th. Apparently it's only for download version for overseas release with Japanese region get the physical version, although ultimately it's just same difference seeing that all version has English language support anyway. Mahoyo itself is the very first work from Nasu before writing Tsukihime, and back then he was inspired by Evangelion so much that he design the three main characters (Aoko, Soujuurou, and Alice) based on the Evangelion main trio (Asuka, Shinji, and Rei). For the premise, Mahoyo here has Aoko (Shiki's teacher in Tsukihime) who somehow find Soujuurou stumbled upon Aoko's secret place to learn sorcery with Alice, and one way or another Soujuurou joined both of Aoko and Alice in their daily life. While the premise looks like a slice of life story, it should be mentioned that there'll be some battle with very good graphic and effect, so yeah it should be good VN for Type Moon fans even though it's (Supposedly) only the first part out of the planned trilogy. Go get Mahoyo if you've been waiting for years and have Switch, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  23. Welcome to Fuwanovel, although perhaps I should say welcome to Introduction page lol (Well it happen that I also did the same when I made the introduction thread some times after joining the forum). In case you're in 'special' mood to read the VNs (Which to say very understandable), feel free to ask for recommendation here. Lastly I hope that you'll enjoy yourself here just like in the past.
  24. Welcome to Fuwanovel and sorry for the belated greeting, @Maleiwa Games. No much to say here other than good luck with your team there and I hope that you'll have fun in here.
  25. Flame of Recca - Like you say it's more or less like Yu Yu Hakusho, although at least the manga here is ended nicely unlike Yu Yu Hakusho one. Of course though things goes differently for the anime in that it's only adapt halfway of the manga with the last episodes here are obviously rushed. By the way while I know that it's also broadcasted in Indonesia, I did watch this fully through Animax. Princess Mononoke - Out of all Ghibli anime movie, this is one of the movie that was very successful up to 1997. There's a lot of interesting things to discuss, with the most obvious things is man vs. nature in which it's not all black and white here seeing that both sides obviously have some things that they want to convey no matter what, and sometimes it can be resulted in a conflict even with both sides initially have good intentions. In the end, whether you want to see it as intellectual or not is up to each of their own. End of Evangelion - According to Anno (Or so that's what I'd read), this is on how he envisioned the real ending of Evangelion, and well let's just say that not everyone on board with the ending for the obvious reason, especially Anno's protege Tsurumaki Kazuya who said that the original finale is fine enough. If anything else, at least I can say that it definitely have fans, so much that it can cause some debate between the fans in regard on which Evangelion ending that was the most fitting (ie the best ending). That's all for what I can comment in regard of Summer 1997 anime.
