The Second Challenge.

Thursday.

October 17th.

Ye- Oh, who cares.

A poem~...?

*Ahem*

Look, I'll be honest,

For me, poems are hard....

But it's best to be modest,

And admit when you're charred.

Being annihilated aside, I have a story to share.

A tale of true courage, and one of despair.

It's a muggy night in Gotham, no pun intended.

A lone schoolgirl seems lost, but her life is past ended.

It's a city of ghouls, that's easy to say,

But here we have a true ghost, who's long lost her way.

Nearby rests a man with booze on his breath,

Fed up with life and looking for death.

That aroma of alcohol all he has left,

A 'reward' from that last paycheck: Intellectually bereft.

The sound of a bottle, hitting the pavement.

Drained of it's worth, gone is his last payment.

A married man, his ring would tell,

Avoiding his home, expecting true hell.

His drunken gaze scanned the street,

He had nothing else to do from his concrete seat.

In the distance he saw a girl walking. Blurred.

He raised to his feet, his goal absurd.

He staggered right up to her, she was a whole lot shorter,

"E-Excuse me m-miss," *hick* "Could you s-spare a quarter?"

She jumped back, surprised and filled with fright.

Hachikuji Mayoi ran into a drunk this night.

She stepped back afraid and filled with disgust,

She didn't know the intentions of this man with an inebriated must.

Filled with anger from her reaction, no cause for it he could distinguish,

Hachikuji Mayoi knows nothing of English!

A palm becomes hidden, a hand closed to a fist,

This man is not thinking but is clearly quite pissed!

Pulling back to swing with all of his might,

Hachikuji raised her hands with no desire to fight.

Before he could strike he was slammed to the ground,

To hit an innocent girl, this man is really unwound!

All the man sees is a fluttering cape fall to rest,

But he knows for sure he's been struck by the best.

A hero stands tall, a loser sobers up.

Batman just pounded out his last hiccup.

"Get back to your home, while you still have one.

You need to clean up your act. With help it can be done."

A crime is prevented,

A man was reinvented.

Hachikuji was a target for a fool to try and rob.

For Batman? Just another night on the job.

Day Three

Crime is something I hate. I am Batman after all. Sadly, you all have turned to a life of crime. And as we all know, crime never pays. Unless you are Thomas Edison ripping intellectual property from other people and claiming it as your own. Then it pays, and pays quite well. Anyway, your days of crime are over as you've been caught by the authorities and thrown into jail. Luckily for you, a certain someone bails you out! It's your favorite fictional character! How nice of them! What does all of this mean for the challenge today? Well...

You have been thrown in jail for committing a crime! What crime did you commit and which fictional character bails you out? What do they say to you?

Write as much or as little as you like. Just make sure all 3 questions in the prompt are answered. My favorite 3 responses will each earn 3 extra points!

What crime did you commit?

Probably robbing a bank. (An inside joke with a few of my friends)

Which fictional character bails you out?

I'd have to say that Sakuya from Rewrite would probably bail me out. It'd be one of those bro things, just because of how cool he is.

What do they say to you?

"Why did you not successfully rob that bank?"

Not sure I put enough thought into it, I'm pretty tired.

(I would have a field day with this if I weren't in the middle of exams >.<)

I've been sent to jail for disturbing the peace. Using my connections with New Zealand's criminal underworld (which totally exists) I obtained a massive LCD screen and had it flown into the harbor of our capital city by a fleet of helicopters. From the waterfront I then proceeded to play through G-Senjou no Maou all in one sitting, enthralling hundreds of workers and causing the entire town to grind to a halt. The police would have been totally cool with it, because i'd let them experience an amazing visual novel, but I had to be apprehend because showing H-scenes in public is a bit of a no-no.

The fictional character that rescued me was G-Man from Half Life 2, since he's pretty magical. He was sitting in my cell when I woke up one morning. As I started to freak out because he doesn't exist, he held a finger to my lips and whispered:

"The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world, Mr Freeman."

Which was odd, because my surname is Smith, but I wasn't about to complain. The guards told me they had no idea who had paid my bail; just that there was a bag of cash left for them with a note that it was for me. There was a crowbar with it too, but they weren't about to give me that.

Ok, so I know I got put in jail because I got caught stealing money from my friend that he owed me, and didn't pay me back even after a year. So, I'm sitting in jail and I'm thinking,"I'm probably going to be here awhile", then suddenly I hear the sound of the cell door opening and as I look up I see Natsume Kyousuke. He pats my shoulder and tells me that "Everything's alright; you should know that we will always be there for you, but please don't let this happen again, I don't want see you spending your youth in jail."

To make up for my lazy haiku:

“When reason fails, the devil helps!”

I slumped against the cold steel wall of my holding cell. In the hours following my crime, my head just hasn’t been working right. Perhaps it would be fairer to say that my head wasn’t working right the moments leading up to my crime. Perhaps it would be best said my head has never been right, and all its misfirings and all my misgivings were just piling up over the years, culminating to this point along with a very poor choice.

To say I don’t know what came over me would be a lie. What I felt at the moment was just too vivid to conveniently sweep away as being a lapse of judgment. No, what came to me… what possessed me, was a rage unfiltered.  It was a conscious act, done unflinchingly with full awareness of the malice behind it.

Perhaps some people would laud what I did as justifiable. Those people would lack perspective. Lofty ideals like justice should never be used to cover up our baser sides.

Justice didn’t raise the head of that fire axe.

Justice didn’t bare it down!

At the brunt of the impact, justice was no wear to be found!

Alas though, what was found in the midst of broken glass and assorted snacks was that damn candy bar. The one that refused to acquiesce. The one that hung there taunting me. The one that sought to deny me satisfaction. The one that was stuck in that damn machine.

Well, it’s mine now.

It’s mine now, along with a few minor lacerations to my hand.

It’s mine now, along with this cell.

An hour passed and a guard came to me. He told me someone posted my bail. I couldn’t imagine who would.

He told me it was the strangest damn thing too. He said the bail was posted in rupees.

A profile came into view in the threshold behind the guard.  It was a young man. He had a well-used physique adorned in a green tunic. Atop his head sat a… green cap. He had blonde hair and, strangest of all, pointy ears.

The guard unlocked the holding cell and waved me out. The man approached me. His sharp eyes locked with mine. He said to me:

After a night of celebrations, I wake up in jail for having been drunk and disorderly, damaging public property in the process.  As I try to figure out who will bait me out, Fuuko appears out of thin air with her pointy party hat and a checkbook in her hand!  Everyone is too puzzled at the strange little girl to argue as she pays the caution and I am released.  As soon as we're out of the station she bonks me on the head with a wooden starfish to scold me for having been a naughty boy and disappears whence she came from.

Apparently, I'm in a prison in this continuity

For some unknown reason, this foreign country formed after the fuwapocalypse jails people who don't believe in magic.

Fortunately, I'm saved by Okazaki Tomoya and Ushiromiya Battler in this timeline.

Mostly because I may or may not sign their paychecks.

It might also because Tomoya's (Minor clannad spoilers)

daughter went missing

After the Fuwapocalypse, and therefore they're searching for them.

...

Or something like that.

Apparently volunteering to get into jail for all the free meals and not having to go to work is.... NOT an option. So moving all the neighborhood's bicycles to a safe place (local habor) where none could find them was a genius plan. Declearing myself the criminal took some convincing since i didnt have a criminal record (Grr).

Enjoying the sleazy life style of the comfortable jail i had started growing accustomed to, was sadly cut short.....  In the midnight a freaking hand punches trough the wall, the rubble falls on top of me and a dark shadow walks in. He ask's me (as i lay in all the crap and dirt) "are you Tracer Tong's son?"

Me "Uh no?"

Stranger "Well that's unfortunate... You better get out then the hole place is gonna explode in a few minutes"

Me " WHAT!! You crazy!?"

... Could it really happen to me, though? Of course not...

It's just a thing... A mere item. Surely materialism doesn't run so deep as to imprison a man for taking something so simple. Who would miss such a thing? The vendor? No... It makes no sense for one to feel attachment to the things they sell because everything must go... It's their job, after all. Very few like their job, I mean, look at me. Clearly I would have the choice whether to steal something or not if I had an occupation, but why do what you hate? These people- This individual- doesn't understand that he had a choice. He chose to be where he is, working for some hack who makes bank off the mindless enjoyment of those who pay for fun. Selling fun... It's our right as human beings to be able to find enjoyment. To find happiness. Not to buy it. You can't buy happiness... That's what I hear anyways... But apparently you can sell it.

Empty excuses from an empty individual. Fitting, don't you think? The rusted bars that seal this damned box make that connection clear. Thoughts had while still able to think freely weren't enough to justify my actions. Justice has taught me that.

"Didn't your mother ever tell you-"

SHUT. UP.

I never had a mother. Please. She got hooked right after I was born. You think someone with a caring parent turns out like me? No. My father did his best to make my childhood enjoyable, and for that I thank him, but in the end this life of crime is all I have now. Endless time to recollect about what I did. Mothers do that, right? When a child does wrong, they're punished and sent to a place to think about their wrongdoings...

Adulthood comes with upgrades, kids!
You get four corners instead of one.

My father used to get me balloons at the fair. Being my first year without him, I went alone, finding my funds to be nonexistent pretty much instantly. It was at that moment I tried to make up a worthy reason for why stealing one shouldn't be punishable.

You can guess how that went.

5:30AM.

I roll out of this stiff mattress after another worthless nights rest. I stretch, breathing in the moldy air I've grown so accustomed to.

How many days has is been?

We shuffled off to our morning showers while breakfast was prepared. Before I was able to eat the meal I was looking oh so forward to (Gruel again!), I was pulled aside. They told me I was free. They told me, after breakfast, that I could go. Someone had come to get me. But, who?

Could it... No... My only friend-

I inhaled my breakfast and went with the guards to where I would be released, and there he was. My one and only true best friend... He told me what it was to have fun. What it was all about. It was him that helped me live a life of happiness despite all my own poor choices. He's still wearing that ridiculous get-up? Those box shorts and that stupid tie... That's him alright. I asked him one question as he walked up to me, shoes squeaking on the hard floor-

"Why?"

He grabbed my hand, looked me in the eye and said-

"F is for friends who do stuff together. U is for you and me. N is for anywhere and any time at all, down here in the deep blue sea."

Spongebob Squarepants. My... Best friend.

One more time... WITH PICTURES!!!

Tl;dr, I stole a balloon. Spongebob got my back. He sang the FUN song.

Overwhelmed by Hachikuji's cuteness, I hatch an ingenious plan to kidnap her involving a van and various other clichéd implements. I am quickly captured by a strange combination of solid snake and batman who smashes the windshield after having climbed on top of my car (believe me, I have not a clue). He promptly knocks me out of thr driver's seat and stops the car while I'm still stunned from pure wtfness, then captures me with a very batman gadget.

He introduces himself as solidbatman.

After setting Hachikuji free, bats responsibly calls the police, who arrest me for kidnapping. Not long after I am placed in my cell, though, I feel a disturbance in the force. Ts3... is rumbling. This power... it flows through me, and with a roar I summon Steve, who screams "FOR THE LOLIS! FOR FB! FOR THE LOLIS! FOR FB!" as we (he) fight our way out.

It is unfortunate but it seems that my plan to make the world a better place has failed and I am now incarcerated in this prison. If it's not obvious by now there's only one reason I would go out of my way to commit a crime, my great plan was.. To give every female in the world a flat chest! Something so aspiring could only be done by true believers of the flattness. However i was arrested as i was just about to activate my machine and was taken in custody. But hope is not lost, there is one fellow companion who understands my dreams, one who could with all his might say that breasts are a way of life. Issei Hyoudou, for to him there is no greater passion other than breasts, no matter how size they are, he understood that my machine was something that could bring happyness and bliss to everyone, and knowing that he came to bail me out of jail, and as he did he conveyed his wise words: "Boobs weigh heavier than one's life, but... FLAT IS JUSTICE!!" followed by his hand that reached out to me and pulled me out of that prison.

And thus we turned into potatoes and rolled away into the sunset while making pterodactyl sounds

To plan our next move to make the world a better place for everyone. A world.. completely flat.

All hail the flatness

Well, it didn't turn out as expected.

After what I recall were 15 unsuccesful attempts, I finally managed to create the ultimate seed, a seed that, when planted, would give birth to a beautiful, yet innocent loli. All went well, until someone with a name I can't recall catched me in the middle of research. All I can remember is the pain when someone bites you, then darkness.

...

...

...

When I came to my senses, I was in a cell, or at least some room that played the part. It was fully equipped, even with a kitchen. Everything was in brownish colors. Except myself.

I had an orange jumpsuit on.

And with a strange logo on it.

Someone talked out of nowhere, instructed me to look up and down, look at some painting, and then go to sleep again. Seeing there was no other choice, I did as told.

...

...

...

Now, I woke up in a sort of capsule. My room was now tiny, with space for little things. Still, I had a radio near me, that played the same melody over and over again.

Then, her voice.

"Welcome to the Aperture Science Computer-aided Enrichment Center."

Something -I can't even tell what- told me that this wasn't going to be fun.

Took some references from one of the best games I've ever played, and tried to continue the Batman and Mayoi crime thing.

Feedback is highly appreciated :)

There was silence. Unnatural, dangerous silence.

On this faraway, forgotten country, screams of agony always filled the long, long halls.

The cells are usually completely filled. There is no way you can sleep without touching your neighbor, obviously because of the conditions within the tiny 3-metre by 10-metre cell.

As the silence fills the halls, I let my mind drift away. Today, this young guy with a 100% preventable problem ended up having to have his foot amputated. Naturally, people are not treated. That is not a surprise nor a problem. We here are the "trash" of humankind. The outlet of the frustrations that our kind has.

That said, life at this place is not so bad for most people. They weren't swallowed by despair. They had companions. There's a shared trauma that comes with being arrested, being hotboxed together, beaten together and being treated like trash together. I got a lot of companions here, actually.

And so, I realized again that I wasn't all alone. I realized the power of the bonds that I always held so dear to myself. No matter how much we fought with each other, the memories of those peaceful times serve as strength to me even now. They are the only thing I had at the 25th hour, and a world filled with coffins. A world filled with shadows, created from the negative feelings of all mankind.

I was used to the silence. A few weeks ago, this place filled with coffins was were me and my companions fought together, laughed together and formed precious bonds that fill my heart with warmth even now. By summoning the strength of our inner hearts, we could face and defeat a God.

My mind goes to when I was arrested. I remember it with a bitter smile. I knew I could count on my companions, and I knew they would definitely have helped me if I asked, but in the end, my pride led me to shoulder all of the responsibility for myself. I set my foots on the Kirijo group and stole precious data on the shadows, which led me to be arrested on this god forsaken place.

...And there are footsteps. Footsteps of a woman that I know very well.

A woman who has short white hair and yellow eyes. A woman that always wears a blue dress that resembles a stewardess's outfit with five black-lined circles outside small yellow circles, blue gloves, a blue attendant-like hat, black leggings and blue, knee-length boots.

A woman incredibly beautiful, always carrying a book known as the Persona Compendium with her. A woman with a ridiculous amount of power, able to crush most with little to no effort. A woman that helped me in my journey with hints, always trying to lead me to the best possible ending.

"Elizabeth? What are you doing here?" I said, completely stunned.

"I came with a piece of advice for you" she said with a humorous face.

"What do you have to tell me?" I asked bluntly. Truthfully, I was expectant. She never failed me, not even once.

"I have gained much from our previous encounters. I'm glad I crossed paths with you on this journey. In the end, I could not feel that same frisson as when I faced him... But still, you've proved yourself to be quite an interesting one. Surely, you won't stop your journey here, yes?"

her tone was the same as when we met on that room.

"Yes. I think it's about time I get out of here. There's still much left unsolved, after all." After remembering my bonds, I can't possibly leave things like this.

She had a smile on her face. A blue light shone upon us, and we were outside of the prison, viewing the sun rising from the desert outside.

"He taught me... Making mistakes is part of being human. However, you also have the strength needed to stand up and never give up. Do not forget that strength"

A smile raises to my face. "Yeah. You're absolutely right."

"Then, it's about time we part ways. It is regrettable, but I'll take my leave now.

"Take care." I said to her as she opened the compendium

"Velvet, oh velvet... My master has a large nose~" She sang as she disappeared.

I slap my face and begin walking. It'll be a long, long road from here on... But, I won't give up. Isn't that right, Elizabeth? I'm sure that it's the same for both of us, after all.

Tl;dr-

I got arrested for stealing data on shadows from the Kirijo group. Elizabeth(Persona 3) rescued me and we talked a bit about what I'm going to do from now on.

Another writing--".. I hate writing.. I'm suck at this :'(

Long Answer:

That day when the new japanese child pornography laws enacted globally, I was arrested because I possessed too much eroge..
At first nobody knows about my possession, but the FBI have been suspecting me as the ringleader of the AJCPL  groups..

Well I've been threatening the prime minister to erase that law via E-mail but with my hacking skills there's no way they can track me..

That time falcon (bloody monday) is the one who've been monitoring my activities with his echelon and I didn't even realize it..

They caught me red handed and confiscated all my eroges, ecchi mangas and animes, dakimuras, etc. They got the information of all AJCPL members from my PC, and I think they'll chase all of the members.

After 2 months, I depressed..

"How many anime I missed.. I think I've beaten all of my VNs if I was'nt arrested.. I don't care about my life.. Just give me a VN already"

Suddenly the prison's security alarm rang..

"What the hell??"

there was an explosion on my prison cells

"We're awesome!!"

"Who the hell is that? Do they wanna save me?"

"Hey Ragnar, I heard you were the AJCPL group head"

"Yeah, I was.. Who are you people?"

"We're Dollars"

We_are_The_Dollars!.png

There are 4 people comin through the hole, They are Kadota, Erika, Walker, and Saburo from Dollars (Durarara)

They lift me up and threw me into their van

"Why are you people saved me?"

"Well, we like your spirit! threatening prime minister to erase the New Japanese Child Pornography LOWLs, no one ever do that!.. We think we can use your hacking skills"

"I'll do anything for my saviour, So what do you need?"

"We'll take back all of the confiscated goodies, and then we'll share it to the otaku around the world via Internet. Just like robin hood.."

"Sounds good!"

And then my journey with the Kadota's group begins

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Short Answer:

What crime did you commit?

I'm threatening the PM to erase the new japanese child pornography laws, and I possessed many eroges while it's banned.

Which fictional character bails you out?

Kadota, Erika, Walker, and Saburo from Durarara

What do they say to you?

"We like your spirit! threatening prime minister to erase the New Japanese Child Pornography LOWLs, no one ever do that!.. We think we can use you"
