Xykros Posted July 4, 2016 Share Posted July 4, 2016 A few days ago, I was discussing my horrible experience with a nukige that I found after pressing the Random button in VNDB to a friend of mine. While I was bad mouthing the game, he told me "There are nukiges with great story though. You just gotta find them." Being the lazy couch potato that I am, I didn't exert any effort to find such a nukige, but I am pretty curious if such titles does exist, and if they do, the titles themselves. XReaper Posted July 4, 2016 Share Posted July 4, 2016 waffle´s yabai! has some rather darn cool plot, that is if you can handle a mc playing judgement day. aside from that one most of lune´s catalogue should fit in said category. edit: almost forgot me obligatory mentioning amagasa´s nukige, which DO have a cool story and dont neglect fleshing out their cast and making dialogues great, such as in virgin load & midnight hymns2. most of their other titles are no nukige, more semi-archaic fantasy stories, that feature (cool)fights, whores whoring around, assholes & brothels. by the way all of amagasa´s recent releases are fully voiced (starting from prince of red lake), incl. mc + some do have quite nice cutscenes to them. btw: if you may happen to be interested in those 2 latter titles, then please support the devs by buying them, so they can continue doing their best. thank you Xykros and Tyr 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(Found out about this one thanks to Fuwanovel's one and only sex ed teacher, @CeruleanGamer) Sadly it is not translated, so if you can't read moonrunes, well then RIP After a zombie apocalypse breaks out, a group of teachers and students takes refuge in, (/gets trapped in,) a school, and have to fight for survival. A lot of the characters have their own point of views, and you never know which one of them will die. Make the wrong choice and you might just lose two main characters just like that. Of course, with it being a nukige, the story is based around tentacle raping zombies. (But despite it sounding just ... stupid, the story is actually really cool.) A bizzare but really enjoyable game. Strongly recommend it if you are able to stomach a bit of saucy H-content. (A bit of vore and a lot of tentacles.) And if you could treat High Sexual Content (HSC) VN as nukige, maybe Beat Blade Haruka. And speaking about HSC, how about Koi Resort here. A full blown nukige is one where "hey H activity is fun, let's do it again tomorrow" then fast forward to next day, doorbell rings "I wanna do it" (sadly not a made up example). If you add a good story to it, it's eroge. nay. without a minimum amount of a engaging setting, fleshed out characters & well written/entertaining dialogues there´s no way in no fucking hell i´m even thinking about strangling my d*** . true, those who fulfill said criteria arent common, but nonetheless what i consider needed to separate themselves from pure literary goulash. even when the main focus lies on fucks, ergo what defines a nukige as a nukige, some standarts should be met. In general, if a nukige has at least a half decent story it looses the 'nukige' tag in VNDB and just keeps the 'high sexual content' tag. The most infamous example of a pure nukige with a story that is considered good by many is probably Euphoria and to a lesser extend Kyonyuu Fantasy. Shin Koihime Musou is also considered to have a much improved story about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms in comparison to its predecessor Kohime Musou with a comparable high H-content. Two personal picks from me with a good ero-story combi would be Kiriya Hakushakuke no Roku Shimai for a semi-dark story and Unionism Quartet for a chuuni-moege. What if the game is pretty much a string of H-scenes that manage to tell a more interesting story than your typical moege? Like this one. Tyr Posted July 5, 2016 Share Posted July 5, 2016 If you talk about "great story" in the context of nukige, it doesn't mean the same thing as if you were talking about normal eroge. "Good" story in the context of porn means that it's a story that greatly enhances the porn. It does not mean that it's a good story in itself, because then the game wouldn't be a nukige anymore. This is a concept most people, especially Western people don't understand. For example, there is nearly no Western pron flick with a good story, because most people think that story is unnecessary in pron (such plebs!) or if they try to write a story into their porn movies, it's extremely boring, pointless, pretentious, quickly forgotten during the sex act and certainly never erotic. Asians are different. Japanese are very good at presenting porn scenes in a very erotic context. Just look at all the different JAV scenarios or thousands of pink eiga. Korean soft porn flicks are also pretty good at this. Keeping that in mind, euphoria certainly is not a nukige for example. Despite the initially high density of hentai scenes, when the story comes in, the ratio of hentai scenes drops. That's because in the case of euphoria, the hentai scenes enhance the story, not the other way around (story enhances the hentai). Well, nukige I think have a good story: Definitely Yabai which was already mentioned by @XReaper. The revenge aspect makes the hentai scenes much more satisfying and extreme. And the story parts really add to the characterization. The detective gameplay and storyline would probably not be enough for a normal eroge, in this case however it's perfect and exactly what this nukige needed. One of the best I have ever played. Everything by Amagasa, especially Virgin Load. OMG I can't even. It's just perfect. Toki o Kakeru Shojo. The storyline is great. Very dark humor, but still very interesting and actually quite cleverly written. The Yami no Koe series. It's like 90% hentai, but the scenes between are so full of characterization and development that it really makes the following hentai scenes so much more engaging.
