You do a regular practice with a card that has the same skill.
So for example a card with a "Perfect Charm" skill will only level that skill if you do practice with another card that has the "Perfect Charm" skill.
 
If the card is level 1 skill and you use another level 1 skill card to practice, it'll level up to level 2.
If you want a level 3 skill card you'll need to do practice with another level 2 card (that's a 100% guaranteed level up), but if you want to risk it you can use another level 1 skill card again, there's a 50% chance it'll level up, this chance keeps decreasing the higher level your card is (from level 7 to level 8 it's like a 1% chance) so if you want guaranteed level ups, only use cards of the same exact skill level.
 
Exact figures if you want to level up cards to level 3 and higher using only level 1 skill cards (courtesy of Cychun87):
 
lvl2 -> lvl3: success rate of 45-50%, my exact figures were 48.2% so if we factor in random bad/good luck I think that's a good ball park to fit in

lvl3 -> lvl4: success rate of 20-25%, my figures were 23.7%

lvl4 -> lvl5: success rate of 8-12%, my figures were 8.3%

lvl6 -> lvl7: success rate of 2-5%, my figures were 3.7%

lvl7 -> lvl8: success rate of less than 1%, my figures were about .5%
 
 
Personally I've gotten my UR Kotori up to level 5 using only level 1 skill cards, but I think after that it's just impossible to get that lucky so it's probably best to go down the guaranteed route after.
If you only want to go the guaranteed route you'll need 128 cards for level 8

haha at first I thought all the members of this thread were females I thought why would a guy play this? it is so sparkly and girly but those thoughts vanished now I think everyone who plays is a male >o< and not sure how I can love Maki this much or mania loves Hanayo
 
In the game I have 1-2 friends who I don't know but one of them thinks I'm a male and we are talking like that I am too afraid to crush his thoughts of me in his head T-T
 
I play the game in class too if I feel like playing people started to accept me and my hobbies

I'll never understand the appeal of Nozomi.
I never liked her when watching the anime, never liked her when reading the manga, never liked hearing her voice (major annoyance) and never liked her overall attitude.
 
Nico worked hard for years to become an idol, support her family, try to make her fans happy and cheer up her friends when the group needs it, she knows what's important in being an idol and does her best each and every day.
When stuff's going down Nico is the most vocal and is not afraid to show her true colors, she's the most quirky of the group and the one that always stood out the most for me, hence why I absolutely love her.
 
Nozomi just tagged along and flips her cards every once in a while, gropes the other girls because she has nothing better to do and doesn't really have any particular vocation for being an idol, she just randomly became one because "lulz duh cards said so".
 
So yeah, I'll never understand the concept of praising Nozomi in a million years.
 
I don't really care what people like, anyone's entitled to like anyone, but I'll always defend Nico to death, because out of every girl in the show she was the one who left a major impression on me.

For those who don't know, when graduating, it is a tradition for a senior to give their shirt's second button to a junior they like.
It is usually the junior who has to ask for it, though.
If several juniors ask at the same time, the senior has to give the button to the junior they care about the most.
