Well the PC version would be better, because there are no Contests Removed (H-scene). I dont watch them in generally, but if they are not there (like in Eien no Aselia), I really miss them :/
Why do people dont say, that they are retiring? Would be more easy for others to take over the poject and it does only taking a minute for writing

Right now a purchase of Sekai Project's Grisaia is a vote for more all-ages Grisaia releases.  Some people may want that.  I don't, and I'm not going to fund something I don't want.
 


Then Sekai Project will have no issue releasing an ero version / patch alongside the all-ages version.

Once you release a title on Steam, that game is bound to Steam's terms of service.  If you go release other versions with adult content, Steam will likely remove the title and ban the company from Steam.  That's how the moral majority enforces their will.
 
Here's an excerpt from the publisher of Reccetear on why they don't work on adult titles.  While it turns out his claims didn't turn out to be entirely true (Mangagamer has titles on Steam), it gives you an idea of how adult content can poison the well when it comes to doing business.

As MoeNovel did before it, Sekai Project had to make a decision: to market their games as porn, or to market them as "not porn".  You have to pick one side or the other, because there's no inbetween.
 
As for my $50, well that's my business.  If I take my $50 and give it to JAST instead, that certainly doesn't mean "I don't support the sale of Japanese visual novels in the western market."

Releasing this as a non-adult title will likely improve sales, especially if it gets on Steam (although I'm not convinced Steam will allow it).  IF it gets on Steam, there's no doubt they made the right business decision.
 
That doesn't make me happy about this.  But the fact of the matter is that the Western eroge market exists in a bubble that's barely sustaining itself.  Despite tens of thousands of fans (>60,000 registered on VNDB alone), the actual customer base is tiny (even popular titles often don't even reach 2000 sales).  The market has gotten so rotten that run-of-the-mill nukige outsell even high-profile story-centric eroge.  What message do you think that sends to VN localization companies?
 
What we're seeing is a glimpse into the future of the VN market: a future where localization groups splinter along nukige and all-ages lines, leaving story-focused eroge fans out to dry.  And I'm not happy about it.  Story-focused eroge fans should see this as a warning: voices without money behind them will fall on deaf ears.
 
As for me: I won't be supporting this release unless the H-scenes are officially reinstated.  Which won't happen.  Once you side with the moral majority, there's no turning back.

I know I can just get the patch for it and all of a sudden it is back to the way the original was, but I still think the H - Scenes are important to be with the game in the first place. Doing my first play through now and on Amane's route, I personally feel like it wouldn't feel like Amane with out some of the things she does... 
 



 
Sure I can get the patch and this way it can spread to a wider audience AND we are getting more scenes. I still don't think it would be as enjoyable with out those scenes every once in a while though... One more thing the "pure" eroge VN's aren't as enjoyable to me personally. When the characters do those things in a VN focused on the story and characters over the H when those scenes do happen I feel like they happen for a reason as small as it may be. Not just for smut (although sometimes yes...).

Spreading VN's is what we want, but I still like my h-scenes. Now I am not talking about h-scenes to get "happy" if I wanted that I would play VN's focused on that. I am talking about VN's where the h-scene is emotional and furthers the character development, it has a point. But I suppose through the spreading of the censored VN the fans of it will want the full experience and go find the non censored version.

No, I haven't played the game yet, I've only seen a couple of dialogues and some of that h-content; I'm not that stupid to spoil all the fun for myself. I'm not fighting for it, either. I'm simply stating Sekai is starting to take way too many liberties with their localization process. If they can't handle eroge, I'd rather see them release non-h games only. Back then, when Steam didn't exist, this wouldn't prove to be that much of a problem. But now, everyone just wants to be on Steam, cause they are too scared, self-centered and not strong enough to take things into their own hands, at least not anymore.

It's still a watered-down version, just for the sake of increased sales. It's the same what japanese devs do by adding porn. The only difference between our nations is that japs don't have issues with sexual content, while we do. Steam is a non-factor from that perspective.
 
I'm glad Sekai is making bold moves, but it's not good enough yet. For one, I don't want vn's on Steam. I want original, TL'ed releases on my own PC.

So, let me put it straight - the game will get an M rating anyway, but they are removing the original H-scenes from the western release? And of course, they have no plans for a patch that would add H-content back for those who'd like to have it. They can't be serious.
 
When will the western community get the proper, mature treatment? If not for our moralfags, it's always japanese devs getting the wrong idea or not being serious enough to push content through. I have no plans to support this, in that case.

I can't help but feel that you turned away from an acceptable half-measure and adopted the worst possible solution. While I appreciate your translation work, haphazardly cutting away content like that is pretty damn lame. :/

I agree with you. This is what Moenovel did after all, and they didn't garner much praise for their method.
 
I understand you want to translate for all-ages, and I respect that. But I can't help but be a little disappointed when it has an 18+ version.

I don't intend to open a can of worms, but I'm just curious, what's the status of the h-scenes in this patch? Included? Translated or not? I know you were looking for someone to TL them for you but I'm not sure if you ever got anyone to do it.

I suppose it's up to someone else to finish the job for them. Preferably our group if we had more people interested in the "cause."

The Spring Semester's over for now. So, I'll probably be able to translate more lines a day, albeit, the time that I expend on total translation shouldn't shift too much. It's just simpler to focus on translation when you're not intent on maintaining a 4.0 next to everything else. I'll finish Umi's route by the end of this month, but I'll be taking a break after her route, since I have a trip planned from early July to Mid July. While I'm certain I'll finish days before the trip, I don't think it's in the best interest of fluidity to start Riho's route, then to leave it alone for two weeks. There's also the withdrawal symptom, of changing heroines and what not. [The true reason why Mina was the only heroine translated, most likely]. 
 
The OP song has been subtitled, and is undergoing additional typesetting changes prior to a YouTube release [and of course, bundled in with the actual game itself]. 
All the images of the game have been translated and image edited.

In my country (Czech Republic) I know only 1 other person that plays galgame. Most people don't even know what anime is.
 
But as mentioned it is most likely due to language barriers, not many people in my country even speaks English and they only watch stuff in Czech and there are no Czech translated galgames.

It's not because I like H. I'll try to put it simply.
 
It's because the original Eroge (h-scenes implied by the name) was intended to give a certain experience. And by censoring it  (removing h-scenes)  you're trying to give another experience that is not the original. And that is what's not right no matter how I look at it and I can not accept it.
 
I'm not going around in circles, I've made my point pretty clear, I like the full experience not something fans think is the best experience.
Don't decide what's best for others, the eroge had those scenes, it came out like that and like that it should stay.
Wether the experience will be better with or without the h-scenes is not for the translator to decide.

Well, whatever. It sounds like to me that just because you don't like H content, you think that no one else should like it or have access to it either. Oh, and it does not make everyone a pervert just because they like H content. I found that offensive when you replied to that other poster.

I don't get what you're trying to accomplish with this.

And remake movie is its own original work not a censored version of the original. They are two different things.
You're trying to compare apples to oranges here.
 
A translation is not a remake, the story is the same, the scenes are the same, and censoring it takes away the experience it was supposed to be originally.
That's what I will never be able to support.
 
And despite you trying to find logical reasoning to back the fact that h-scenes should be removed, the only reason relevant to you is that you don't like h-scenes and you're saying it's okay to remove them just because you and some others don't like h-scenes, for various reasons. It's as simple as that and I know you've made this point plenty of times before and I know you hate them a lot. 
 
In my case it's not just because I like h-scenes however, because I admit I do, it's because I hate censorship of any kind and I'm trying to explain why no work should be censored by fans just because they don't like it. In fact i don't even know if i should use the word "fans" here.
 
I like to have my work unadulterated so i can experience the entirety of it, the way it was intended to be. I don't think this is such an outrageous desire.
Regardless of wether the work has some stuff I don't like or not I'm not the one to judge if it'd be better off without it. If It doesn't have stuff I like then I won't read it, simple right?
 
I know you really really hate h-scenes.
I also hate a lot of stuff. I absolutely despise rape in eroge for example. I think it's disgusting and I never want to see it because it doesn't turn me on in the slighest.
But it is not my right to judge if the vn would be better off without it. It's just my personal opinion.
The author made it like that for a reason and removing that is taking away the experience it's supposed to give and that is always wrong no matter how I look at it.

I trust that people who release partials plan on completing the whole thing later. Therefore there's nothing to hate since they're not censoring anything, they're releasing part of it and they plan to release the rest later, they're not taking away anything, they're not falsely advertising.
However when it is not the case I don't support it. Partials that are just partials and the translators don't plan on translating the rest I can't stand it either.

Sorry if i sound like an arrogant perfectionist. I do understand translating takes effort and i am thankful to translators who put effort into things, but I also am entitled to not enjoy something incomplete.
