  1. NOT having a full time job, or not having a family, or other time wasters ........... also helps
  2. Been reading Princess Evangile. One thing that really stands out are the jealousy skits Already completed 2 routes. My thoughts..... * Ayaka. * Ritsuko. Started Chiho's route. This seems to be the "childhood friend/love triangle route". Which probably equals tons of drama and jealousy skits....
  3. Well, you could be +30, and virgin, like ....... someone I will not name I said too much...... Some of my suggestions.... For pure moeges.... * Dal Segno . Has a cute cousin (roleplaying as an imouto) as a heroine. And an AI holographic girl as another. And a goth loli.... * Fureraba . Absolutely overloaded with comedy! Quite a lot of sex too... * Wagamama High Spec . Cutesy artwork and music, and a ton of sex.... * Kono Oozora . Light hearted, but still has some plot. * Muv-Luv Extra . Somewhat generic, but it leads into Unlimited (where it gets interesting). Then there's Alternative.... For plot, emotional feels ...... or tears..... * Clannad . KEY are the masters of milking bittersweet tears from you..... * Grisaia no Kajitsu . Both the funniest ...... and darkest moege I've ever read. Tons of sexual humor too. This got me hooked on the visual novel genre. * Muv Luv Alternative . Probably the most unforgettable VN you'll ever read....
  4. * Eden* . * Nekopara (the most over the top cute moe game that doesn't have a high school setting xD) * Planetarian . * Sorcery Jokers . Has very few high school scenes, and is mostly about the over-arching plot. Has a lot of action. * Muv-Luv Unlimited and Muv-Luv Alternative (though the military base does have classrooms).
  5. I would have recommended Symphonic Rain (first VN that came to mind when TC mentioned plot twists), but he's already read it. * ef - a fairy tale of the two . Quite a lot of relationship drama, and pretty good plot. * Grisaia no Kajitsu . It does really focus on it's larger then life characters. Character routes are pretty serious though (standing in contrast to the over the top comedy in the common route). You may like the psychological themes. * Muv-Luv Trilogy. It'll take you a while to get through Extra and Unlimited. Just wait till you get to Alternative though (probably the ultimate story driven experience)! * Sorcery Jokers . Quite a lot of action.
  6. Censorship is just a type of Political Correctness. Both tick me off (especially since extremely corrupt and borderline evil elements are always the ones pushing it). Censorship and Political Correctness (for the most part) are about to go extinct though....
  7. It, it's, it's n-n-n-not like I'm welcoming you to these forums or anything. Baka!! I digress. Welcome dude! Nice to see someone else reading Grisaia. I AGREE SO MUCH! I read Grisaia over 12 months ago, and she's still my most favorite VN waifu ever
  8. Finished Muv-Luv Alternative yesterday. Yeah, that was a ride and a half!! I was even more emotionally invested in it then Clannad. I'm just glad I don't currently live in a cosmic horror timeline like that..... Welp! Next up is ....... Steins;Gate. Another VN with parallel timelines eh? ...... is it just me, or is the music, REALLY intense?? Holy shit.....
  9. Here are some of the ones I've played so far..... * Clannad . If you want something with immense emotional feels. Prepare to shed many manly (yet bittersweet) tears. Some of it's themes about friendship and family are quite profound. It's a rather long read though... * ef - a fairy tale of the two . Comes in two parts and has multiple protags. Various types of relationship drama (and emotional feels). * Fureraba . Maybe not the best in plot, but it's overloaded with comedy and light heartedness. Quite a lot of sex scenes too (if you get the uncensor patch). * Grisaia no Kajitsu . This is the VN that seriously got me hooked on the VN genre. It's writing is fantastic, it's music is great. It somehow manages to be both the funniest VN I've ever read ....... and also one of the darkest (it WAS the darkest I read, until I read Muv-Luv Alternative). Very recommended. * Kono Oozora (If my heart had wings) . Pretty light hearted, with some adventure. * Symphonic Rain . Probably the most unique VN I've read. Has a more melancholic setting, some deep characters, and even some interesting plot twists. * Wagamama High Spec . Like Fureraba, this is very light hearted. Also has the most sex scenes I've seen in a VN.
  10. Welcome dude! Visual Novels are a very interesting medium I think. Always nice to have more people contribute somehow. Enjoy your stay
  11. Still reading Muv-Luv Alternative........ my current thoughts are as follows..... OH GOD, WHAT DID I JUST SEE!? I CANNOT UNSEE THAT!!! JAPAN, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!? WHY GOD DID I BUY THE +18 PATCH!? ...... those who have already read the game know exactly what I'm talking about I'm surprised I was even able to stomach that, good grief.....
  12. Grisaia is a masterpiece imo, strongly recommended. Off the wall comedy ....... while exploring some psychological themes when it gets serious (and it gets more serious then most VNs). And that soundtrack! It does have a rather long common route. Symphonic Rain has a unique art style, and a unique world. And some interesting plot twists. It's one of the few VNs (that I know of), that ditches the moe elements (for the most part). For a suggestion not on your list.... * ef - a fairy tale of the two . Multiple love stories (which are somehow connected). Quite a lot of feels too....
  13. Been binging Muv-Luv Alternative pretty hard. And....... ..... Jesus, this VN is intense
  14. More or less finished with Muv-Luv Unlimited. ...... does it make me a Lolicon that I got a kick out of Tama's H scene? Especially that upskirt angle.... Next up ....... Alternative........... ...... god help me........
  15. Finished Muv-Luv Extra. Started Muv-Luv Unlimited...... About an hour in..... ..... I'm already afraid.....
  16. Shizune in Katawa Shoujo . Yumiko in Grisaia no Kajitsu . Bit on the violent side. Michiru is also antagonistic like.... Yuzuyu from Fureraba is extremely verbally antagonistic. Rina is also on the competitive side somewhat.... Kei throughout the entirety of ef - the first tale . Kyou from Clannad ..... is quite violent (played for laughs though). Fuko acts bratty at times too (and she's adorable!). Azuki in Nekopara series butts heads with the rest of the cast often.
  17. My sister's Otakuness kinda rubbed off on me somewhere. Then I played the Hyperdimension Neptunia games. Then I watched let's plays/streams of Ace Attorney and Steins;Gate. Then I picked up Grisaia no Kajitsu in a steam sale ...... and was seriously hooked. The rest is history....
  18. Finally on my new PC build! Hooray! Gotta finish putting on essential programs, then I'm re-downloading MUV-LUV...
  19. Well the wait for my new PC parts is over. My 27inch monitor got delivered to my door 20 mins ago. This time next week I'll probably be playing MUV-LUV on it
  20. * ef - a fairy tale of the two . Quite a lot of drama ....... and feels (it impacted me as hard as Grisaia at times). * Eden . Same makers as ef. If you want a sad tale.... * Fureraba . Light hearted over the top comedy. * Himawari . Lots of drama, and sci fi elements. Apparently, set in the same universe as Island..... * I second Kono Oozora . Also pretty light hearted. * Symphonic Rain . Ditches the usual moe elements, in favour of a melancholic atmosphere with some plot twists. Those are the ones I've read anyways. Maybe you can check out KiraKira or DearDrops ? Or maybe Liittle Busters if you're up for some KEY magic....
  21. I approve Every Visual Novel connoisseur needs to read that.
  22. What I'm Playing? Currently that's ordering parts for my new PC, and getting my Dad to build it. I started actually ordering parts just now. My return to reading VN's is imminent (now on an awesome 27inch monitor). Nice to see a new person reading Grisaia. What I love about Yuuji is his hilarious inner monologues. Guy has an interesting way of looking at the world.... You like "ChiruChiru"s voice now? Wait till you read her route (especially her goofy, and downright CUTE laughs). Honestly, she's still my favorite VN girl ever Amane's route is ...... pretty special too ...... for entirely different reasons ....
  23. Not yet. Though I do plan to re-read Grisaia no Kajitsu again sometime. And maybe Kono Oozora too....
  24. * Wagamana High Spec is somewhat similar to Fureraba (though not quite as funny). Also has the most H content I've ever seen in a VN. * Kono Oozora . Pretty lighthearted. Some of the flying scenes and music are really good. * ef - a fairy tale of the two . All sorts of drama, packs some real emotional feels too.
