  1. Welcome to Fuwanovel, hope you'll have fun around here!
  2. Hello and welcome to Fuwanovel! If you ever need recommendations, high-brow or otherwise, don't hesitate to ask. Also good luck with any TL projects you might take, this Chunsoft game actually looks pretty fun. :3
  3. Are there any differences between Full Chorus and the old version beside voice acting? They could always release it as a free update for those already having the game, I don't think they would get many sales from those people anyways...
  4. It's not really Korean - it's Korea-themes I guess, but the actual author is Christine Love, American writer and one of the earliest "serious" authors of OELVNs. Her stuff is pretty unique, I hope devote a whole month to her VNs on the blog somewhere in the summer. Also, I won't push you too much into reading CUPID, but it's a really great piece of horror. Trying new things in sometimes worth it. :>
  5. Mangagamer is indeed a bit different because of many people buying directly from their shop, especially if they want 18+ version, but with Sekai and other, smaller publishers you can see that while in 2014 or 2015 most major releases could sell even over 50k copies, last year only games that came anywhere close were Ecchi trash (like Nekopara and that rip-off catgirl game), that don't necessarily rely on VN fans, the latest Higurashi title and maybe 1-2 others. The whole rest performed poorly (below 5k copies sold in first few months). OELVN market might be doing even worse BTW, apart from its own Ecchi trash like the Sakura games.
  6. Dude, 27 inches is like a handicap. In any normal situation, it just won't fit in, would only be awkward and painful to use. I mean, on a normal desk, it's too wide for your field of view to cover most of it. ...we're still talking about screens, right?
  7. Oh, nice, that's actually a huge improvement from the previous numbers I've seen for -DS-. The point stays though, Miagete was probably a failure from Pulltop's perspective, considering the sale numbers Moenovel got in the past, but wasn't a disaster considering how saturated and competetive the market is ATM. Getting the price even lower on release looks desperate on their part and I'm really curious whether that's basically a dumping scheme of sorts or they've just invested so little into this license that they can throw it away half-free SakuraGame style.
  8. Yup, definitely, but that's what you can say about their every major release and this one's still significantly below their usual pricing. It's even cheaper than the LoveKami spin-offs, so they either really cut corners with the localization process to make it worthwhile or are desperate to boost sale numbers after the relatively poor performance of Miagete (relatively, because it was a really shitty years for plotge in general and in perspective the numbers don't look that bad for MoeNovel - look at the poor Dal Segno with ~1000 copies sold on Steam...).
  9. @Kurisu-Chan, hide, I'll hold him off!
  10. I've played some VNs on a 10-inch tablet and it worked fine. I don't see a reason for 13-inch screen to be a problem, unless you want to sit a few meters from it. :]
  11. *Soon after the call was ushered, a fiery pentagram appears on the ground and the figure of the Fuwa's chief heretic materializes before Orakana Newbie* I was summoned, so I've answered to spread the Unholy Cult of OELVN! To be honest though, it's hard to recommend something on the same level as Katawa Shoujo, it most likely is the best Western VN to date - but it's also a very direct imitation of Japanese formula. Another example of a highly rated OELVN that feels like the "real thing" is Lucid9. And if you're not afraid of otome, Cinderella Phenomenon is... Well, quite phenomenal. Both are free. For something more unique, you could try CUPID (free) or Analogue: A Hate Story (cheap on Steam). Also, if you didn't play Doki Doki Literature Club, while that game turned into a meme, there's much more to it than just that. You already saw my Love Ribbon review, but I have a lot more reviews and recommendations on my blog (link in my signature). You can always check it out if you're looking for an OELVN to play - one upside of those is that many of them are free, without feeling like junky amateur games. And they don't take two months to finish. ;p
  12. http://steamcommunity.com/games/812560/announcements/detail/1653258341519081150 Huh, this was fast... And it's just 10 bucks? I'm very curious what the translation actualy looks like.
  13. Welcome to Fuwa & hope you'll have fun around here! Another editor would surely make some translation threads happier places.
  14. That guy not only thinks like I do but even looks similar. Disturbing. Where is it from BTW? :]
  15. The horror theme was really sweet, great job @Clephas. Edit: Though, wait, did Clephas write this or was he just the theme/inspiration this time around? I somehow assumed the former. The compliment stands either way. And I guess I should congratulate the victors on surviving the PvE encounters! Not as glorious as some battles of the past, but still, few saw the true nature of Fuwa's final boss and lived to tell the tale.
  16. Hej, całkiem uroczo wyglądająca gra. Za 5 zł chyba się skuszę. ----- Looks cute, will give it a try at some point.
  17. Grisaia spin-offs are pretty much a status symbol, suggesting you've read the original trilogy and are expanding to Frontwing's lesser products. Plus Chiru Chiru games aren't really bad from what I've heard. The most shamefull item in my Steam library would definitely be Huniepop, followed by the a full set of Nekopara games and Sakura Dungeon. :] Edit: But just like Asonn, it's not like I'm really ashamed of any of that by this point of my descent into weeb degeneracy.
  18. + this topic: I've binged most short games I've played back then in one or two sittings, the same happened to Analogue and RPG Shooter: Starwish. One exception is Sunrider, which I dropped shortly before finishing it after one mission frustrated me to no end.
  19. You know, that Curator Connect tool on Steam is really convenient and I'm not sure how many indie devs know about it... ... What? Asking for free stuff? Why, I would never! I just felt like mentioning it...
  20. The art looks absolutely gorgeous and the general design of the game looks very unusual for an OELVN, I'm intrigued, although I'm also not really willing to throw 25 dollars for it without knowing more. I won't ask for a review copy, but if something like that happened, I would definitely be motivated to try it out... And "nearly died"? I guess you don't think like elaborating?
  21. Hmmm, OELVNs are usually much shorter than Japanese ones and can be pretty to-the-point. Try CUPID for example, or Doki Doki Literature Club even. When it goes to Western yuri, Love Ribbon and Highway Blossoms are short and well-paced, but the second one is still very much a Slice-of-Life story. Maybe you would also like games by the Innocent Gray studio, especially Kara no Shoujo series? They usually have their share of slower moments, but I don't think they ever waste the player's time with pointless fluff.
  22. But what a glorious legacy they've left behind!
  23. And in Wikipedia, 100 years from now you'll see a note about Japan being the first country to proclaim access to uncensored porn a constitutional right of every citizen.
