  1. I remember when I saw the first trailer for this remake. I was kinda let down because, since the resolution was more detailed, it lost that "misty" appearance the original had Misty sounded more somber and just right for this game. But damn, I was convinced enough with the MC's new look! Sadly, I don't own a PS4, but I have good memories of this game back in the PS2. And bad memories too, since my disc was damaged so it took half an hour to the final cutscene to kick in for me to clear it on Hard. Oh, and I heard that the new golden coins gives you a new weapon, much like the time trials did.
  2. Well, then it's a problem that you're judging a say '80 game by today's standard and that's just wrong imo There's tons of games with clunky UIs even today. Can't say much about game mechanics because I'm biased towards RPGs with turn based system, that was invented pretty much due to technical limitations, and I know that this system pisses some people off now.
  3. Is it any different now? Throw a moege character my way and I'll definitely take 50 tries before I can guess the VN.
  4. I loooove old games aesthetics, but I play more games emulating those old 8bit stuff than actual old games, since compatibility problems...... But then again, what I usually consider old is "released before I was born" meaning before '93. Soooo yeah. And I hate the "it didn't age well" argument with a passion. A good game is a good game, regardless of graphics. Blame the art style or the plot if you didn't find the game appealing, not how old it is!!!
  5. HIIIIIIIIGH FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE
  6. Hey there, Fate fan! Nice to meet you! You should definetely try Tsukihime too! Me too, in fact. As fellow fan, I ask you, what's your favorite route? Who's your favorite character?
  7. I second Valkyrie Profile and Final Fantasy 6. And damn, Order of Ecclesia was nice! For PS1 I also recommend the classic Tomb Raider and Persona 2 Eternal Punishment (although this one have a prequel that only the PSP port was localized and said prequel have a male MC. But I strongly recommend both, they are very good!). I also liked Koudelka a lot, but it's a damn hard to find game. For GBA there's also Fire Emblem the Sacred Stones.
  8. ^ Kiri < Why am I studying in a Saturday? v Favorite meme?
  9. Not exactly lord but it was the edgiest flan I could found.
  10. Damn, didn't played many chuuni... And this thread is good excuse for me to post some cute Touhou pics
  11. Aaaaah, I see! I glanced around your OELVN thread and only saw women drawings, so I made this wrong assumption. Oops, sorry. >_< Actually, I used to draw as a hobby some years ago and I did way more girls than boys because guys are so hard to draw, so I jumped to conclusions hahahaha Well, I don't want to waste my Cardia entry since I liked her a lot too, and since we have one entry per person, guess I'll just stick my favorite boy from the same game together with her since you do couples! (I have to find new pics, I'll probably edit my entry tomorrow)
  12. As a Koakuma lover, I give you 9/10, but I'm not Kaguya so you'll gain huge amounts of nothing from me. But Sakuya exists, so...
  13. Not sure if this one have it big enough... I tried.
  14. Vote: Going along with my favorite female MC: Cardia, from Code Realize, I add Van Helsing!!! Had to add my favorite boy XD (I put the images in spoilers, because I put more than one and then my post would be ass long xD) When you start the game, Cardia seems like your average female protagonist. She don't speak too much, she's a bit apathetic and her tiny sprite that appears in the corner of the screen severely lack in expressions. Together with her frilly and classy outfit, she looks like a porcelain doll. This gradually changes when more and more question about herself and her past start to pops up. And of course, because she made some awesome friends that are the boys. She changes into a more pratical outifit, starts smiling more, and keeps training so she can be useful when the action bits of the VN starts. Her character development is super refreshing to read! In the prologue, she ruins an infiltration plan for being too naive to even lie. In the routes, she almost leading the infiltrations! She doesn't back down even when she's wounded or weak and shouldn't be fighting. She fight with her boys until the end, even when they want to leave her behind to protect her. Of course, she's from an otome game, so romance plays a big role in the routes, but her proactive side and cute and pure side complement each other more than being at odds. Meaning, she would confront an incredibly powerful enemy alone just because she wants to see her loved one smiling again aaaaaw. (but she had a plan, mind you, she didn't charged in stupidly only with the power of love hahahaha) This story is mainly hers, and not just being told from her POV (well, in most routes at least). And it's incredible how she, an unvoiced MC that you can even turn off her portrait in game (who would do that???), can stand out given that the heroes are awesome as well! Otomate did a good job! She changes outfits early in the game, but I love her frilly dress... And now, to contrast with her sweet personality, we have the sarcastic and arrogant (but that often have the power he says he have) Van Helsing. He always have something snarky to say but just try to start talking about food and he'll become dead serious. He can be a bit tsun tsun at times, but that makes him looks even more adorable. His route is one traumatic event after another, what leads the poor guy to reject everyone to not drag his friends into the trouble, but Cardia didn't gave up on him and go help him with the help of the other guys. He's usually grumpy, and that makes his eventual smile all the more precious. Some pics!
  15. ^ Because it's too much work. < I want to buy Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory, but I didn't finish the first Cyber Sleuth yet rip v What should I eat for lunch?
  16. Happy birthday to our very own space fanatic @EastCoastDrifter!!!!
  17. Well, I'm indifferent towards this tag. Don't love nor hate, it's just there. And about Comyu, people aren't pleased because Kagome is the only remotely interesting heroine (I loved Hisoka in the end, but you can't have any opinion about her in the common route since she barely appears there) and her route is locked by the other 4, 2 of them are filler-infested and add nothing to the mystery. Like Derg, I loved the way Nurse Love treated its routes, more games should do like that. But my favorite is the way Shingakkou's routes work. You only need a single playthrough to find the answer to the mystery, but the other routes add a lot of detail to the whole thing just by changing your main ally (in this case, the hero you choose), making it so worth to read all of them. Enforced order is a pain, but I think that the True Route should be locked at least until you finish one route.
  18. Actually it's even worse. It's horribly drawn and horribly colored h-scenes.
  19. ^ Write your yuri story then analyse it. < I fell into gacha hell, send help. v The time has come and so have I. Have you?
  20. Reading genres that I never read before made me realize that it wasn't the genre that made it good or bad. A good game is a good game. And now I'm much more tolerant to other people's tastes.
  21. I can relate, even if for me is the reverse. I like to alternate between male and female avatars, and I do agree with you guys that the male ones are a lot more boring to look at than the female ones! Step up your game, developers!!!
  22. Well... If it would feature KEY style porn, no thanks, All Ages is better. XD
