  1. Welcome to the depths of hell. I just noticed your bare (and imo pretty shameless) advertising for what almost looks like yet another cheap "sakura clone". And did you really steal your plot from Kimi no na wa. ? Anyway, pretty nice of you to introduce yourself after you posted your advertisement.
  2. Re:Lief winning in best scenario ?!? Semms the best chance for winning in that category is not having one. Personal favourites are a bit low, but still higher than expected.
  3. Don't read the VN, be the VN. Let the force guide you to the true meaning. Honestly, just learn the language. Or start by learning japanese grammar and use parser like Mecab or JParser
  4. +1 on anything from falcom Fate/Extra Star Ocean 1 & 2 Disgaea Gorwlanser IV Hexyz Force Half-Minute Hero Persona 2 Tales of Eternia Unchained Blades Valkyrie Profile Tactics Ogre
  5. Can I feel offended by people that with mightier-than-thou attitude that tell others how to conduct, express or clothe themselves? (You have to ask others for permission nowadays since it is now current year and you really don't want to get on the wrong side of the internet by using words everybody uses)
  6. I wouldn't be a good protagonist. Those lazy, 4th wall breaking comic relief airheads are more fit to be in a supporting role. Or do you mean stuff like "Choice: "go to work" / "sleep again", then sure. This kind of choices has me locked in a traight path to game over since kindergarten.
  7. Some routes have their serious moments, but most of the time it's more like the action to comedy ratio is about 50:50 in the common and the routes either change action into drama or make it a 33:33:33 ratio
  8. It's not about "weebs" (which is pretty ironic to use here, in a niche forum for a niche, mostly, japanese medium) It's about dropping important cultural aspects in a game obviously in japan, where japanese people with japanese names are talking japanese to other japanese people. Cutting off part of a culture just because some people might have trouble to understand is the worst kind of censoring. Even worse if you can hear one thing but read something else. If you localise instead of translating, do it in a medium where you can at least use a localised dub instead. Some people, myslef included, await a certain degree of perfection if it is an official translation/localisation. If you pay for something that isn't without obvious flaws, you (meaning consumers) will end at a point where you just consume everything, just because it is there.
  9. Which doesn't really work for those that understand enough spoken japanese to find fault every now and then. While I have to agree, localisations are better for the target audience most of the time, sometimes there are backlashes. But if you localise just do it from start to finish and not just give up somewhere halfway. Like if you don't use "senpai" even if characters say it and then suddenly you use it and explain the meaning somewhere waaaaay down the story, it comes of as a bit unproffessional. If you can still see/hear the original text a more or less literal translation would be more preferable, imo. Even when people that would read and praise the translation either way say that localisations are bettern than literal translations because it sounds more natural or because literal translations are boring.
  10. I can kind of understand where Deep Blue is coming from. As of late more 'translations' are localiszed as they would a dubbed version. And it is kinda annoying for those that notice the differences and changes in more subtle stuff like honorifics as a means of social hierachy etc. To be fair there are more americans than there are english. And "British slang" isn't something you see in any kind of media outside of britain itself. For my part, I've seen a few FTW, FTWs and some other stuff I'd count more on the american side of english. Which means nothing as the translation company is just the company that hires the translators. For all we know they might be Murricans, Brits or even Japs themselves.
  11. inb4 "Rewrite History: Key all star battle", a DMM styled sociage with bad drop rates and bad artists.
  12. So it finally gets translated. I'm claiming all the salt and tears people will spill when they notice that dies irae is not "The worlds greatest masterpiece and the peak of human creation" and come to accept that in the end it is just a shiny chuuni with nazis and complicated sounding prose. Might still be interesting for a german to see how japan glorifies NS Germany.
  13. I know, but at least here they are sold as nukige, not fandisks, moege with lot of h scenes or something else. Until steam that is, now they even sell nukige without nuki to the minors
  14. If the sales show any sign of indication for future releases and their quality... I might better start to look for a new hobby. Boobies and shiny stuff without substance as bestseller... Is this steam or something?
  15. It's not a bug, it's a feature. Some party member have the passive ability to widen the map range, but that ability is only in effect as long as they are alive. If they're dead so is your vision.
  16. And there goes one of my future job options... It's good to see google putting some (very much needed) work in it. Most people at my university use Google Translate on a daily basis, even or rather especially those with language courses. But I still think it will take some time to be at least acceptable. While it is a bit off-topic: Who wants to bet how much more Flyable Hearts/nekoHen style 'Translation Patches' we will see in the next years?
  17. For Fantasy: Eushully all the way. Ikusa Megami Zero is a must play for any fantasy fan. Aiyoku no Eustia is another great fantasy VN. If you don't mind sol comedy, Ryuuyoku no Melodia or Shukufuku no Campanella might be interesting. Soukoku no Arterial is pretty chuuni and the gameplay parts (which are really great, btw) weren't translated by those MT derps.
  18. I wouldn't call it unlikely to see a translation with pulltop seeming interested in selling their titles in the west, but yeah learning japanese or just leraning to riddle your way through MTs is the better and faster alternative.
  19. SRPG, Maou and blond familiar has to be Himegari Dungeon Meister. Wouldn't "One Ring to rule them all" fit more? If I remember right I was the only one ever being poisoned xD I have a good one "Dogs like to watch Tetris"
  20. Is it infamous for the 'quality' of its 'translation'? And is it Flyable Heart?
  21. Sounds like this one Or you could pick one of these. (A combination of Time Travel and Comedy would be your best bet, I'd guess)
  22. You might have a point but I still think you somehow link "facts" to be synonym with "responsibility". Seeing the world in only black and white (no racist pun intended) is one way to live, but you kinda sound a bit preachy about your way of life. Changing the world is all fine and good but "blaming" people for not being part of the change is... it makes it sound like you're forcing you views onto everyone else. You might be right. Your way of doing things might be good. But some people do not want to be told that their way of doing things is wrong. That's the best way to get enemies.
