9/20 Update - Bugs/Feedback Goes Here!
Infernoplex replied to Tay's topic in Community Coordination and Feedback
I understand the neccesary changes but I kind of liked more the previous spacy look of the site, nevermind, if it loads faster on mobile phones then all is great Just kind of surprised with the new look -
Hibari is only featured as a part of the cast in the beginning, trust me, later on you are going to see her less and less xD Though I can tell you, for the so-called "humane" characters in Swan Song - I think it's a little overblown statement to call them all humane, I see many times people state that Swan Song has humane characters, which is true to some extent but if you really start to delve into it further, you are going to notice that there are some flaws, both in the characters and later on in the plot of the Swan Song itself. Though I do think that Swan Song does feature some rather nice situations and it can fall into a realistic category but you should be aware that basically all VNs are just fiction and some stories are more un-realistic than others. I generally enjoyed Swan Song for what it is and didn't bother about plot-holes and so on until I have read the entire VN.

I also voted for Swan Song (anyway, it's the only VN on this list that I have read xD) ... I only want to tell you one thing about Swan Song ... It has 2 endings and several bad endings (common sense during choices will help you avoid all of it, there's no way to get into a bad ending unless you intentionally want it) ... You can safely skip the second ending in my opinion xD Trust me, it's so out of place that you are going to start thinking "what the fuck" ... Other than that, this VN is amongst the 3 best VNs I have read so far, and if you decide to play the second ending - just forget it afterwards, it's basically fan-fiction, that's how I saw it.

I have spent 600+ hours on (modded) Fallout 3 with all DLCs ... After that, I decided not to play games that get me addicted too much, that's why I still didn't play New Vegas, Skyrim, FO4, Oblivion, etc. ... As for the question asked, I think I'd rather go with JRPG these days, western RPGs are too much time consuming because of the "fantasy life living" element and can be played long after finishing the main quest if there's free roam in the game ... I liked the videos that the OP linked, I am actually subbed to ExtraCredits but never saw these videos by that channel xD ... Some very insightful info if I may say so

New interview of DrastikMeasure with MangaGamer
Infernoplex replied to ChaosRaven's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I have to agree with Vorathiel, I don't like their website design, the individual VN pages are okay and some are even very good but the general website is just ... not up to my taste. I think they can do much better, both in terms of web design and its presentation. Ahahaha, the only thing that comes to my mind is probably the In'youchuu series by Tinkerbell, though I don't know how hardcore it is compared to Maggot Baits. -
I am not sure but I think this VN belongs to that genre and it seems to be mentioned from time to time: Iwaihime

Searching for Lemnisca Side-materials translation
Infernoplex replied to Kururi's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
I don't know about Never7 but I can safely say that I/O The Boy in the Mirror Novel had only one chapter of it translated if I am not mistaken ... It's some additional story but if you didn't finish I/O you shouldn't even read it ... Though you won't miss anything even if you don't read it at all after finishing I/O ... And good luck, I/O was one of the best VNs I have read -
It's not so much about Trump as it is about Hillary ... Mostly all of the Americans that I spoke to will either vote Trump or Hillary in order to undermine the other candidate ... To be blunt, I must say they are both bad as each other and choosing between two evils never help ... I don't believe Jill or other 3rd party candidates will be able to beat any of these two major candidates ... As for the questions in the poll, I say "no" to both of them, but ultimately think it doesn't even matter, the system is rigged, voting is only there to soothe the public and nothing ever changes no matter who is in charge.

JAST DevLog Update - September 13th Discussion
Infernoplex replied to Infernoplex's topic in Visual Novel Talk
That's the JAST's way, you are right ... Honestly, I think we are going to get a surprise release again by them, and I think it will be Nyphno-sensei Ryoko (maybe even by the end of the year if nothing goes wrong), everything else will probably be released sometimes next year, I am actually happy to see Sumaga fully translated, that title was announced eons ago if my memory serves me right xD ... -

JAST DevLog Update - September 13th Discussion
Infernoplex replied to Infernoplex's topic in Visual Novel Talk
How do I do that? I tried to go into edit mode of the thread and I don't see a way to move it around. Did you mean about applying tags? Or to just change the name of the thread? -
JAST DevLog Update - September 13th Discussion
Infernoplex replied to Infernoplex's topic in Visual Novel Talk
@sanahtlig - Oh, okay, I understand Edit: @sanahtlig - Is there a way to delete the post? I seem to not be able to find it here, do I have to report the post in order to have it deleted? -
Sorry if I am posting in the wrong section of the forum. The mods should move it if I got it wrong. Just wanted to share the news that I just saw on JAST DevLog a moment ago: Source: http://follow.jastusa.com/post/150333855511/game-progress-sept-13th That's 4 titles by JAST that are fully translated and only need to go through editing/porting/QA. Which one is likely to be released first?
-
I actually thought the same as @sanahtlig ... @Kiso - You should re-word it somehow to avoid confusion, I am already in Visual Novel Enthusiasts group which has been around for some time I think, I sent a request to your group primarily because at first I thought it was about VNR the text-hooking program

Nutaku Announces New Initiative with Sekai Project
Infernoplex replied to RikiSanic's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I think MG and JAST are already on Nutaku for a few months now at least, they should already have some data on sales numbers ... I found an article from back in May this year when the partnership was announced between JAST/MG and Nutaku and I checked the Nutaku's downloadable games and I found Bazooka Cafe and Cho Dengeki Stryker listed so I guess they already have an indication of how those sold on Nutaku's platform. -
Nutaku Announces New Initiative with Sekai Project
Infernoplex replied to RikiSanic's topic in Visual Novel Talk
@RikiSanic - That's a sound argument, I could see them making profit in that kind of scenario. I didn't want to imply somehow that it's pointless for SP to do it, my previous posts have nothing to do with that. In fact, I believe they will make good business because Nutaku's wide audience is guaranteed to make them more money. -
Nutaku Announces New Initiative with Sekai Project
Infernoplex replied to RikiSanic's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Exactly, that's what I was thinking too. That's also one of the reasons why I am not looking very much forward to SP's partnership with Nutaku. If it's like you said, and I will qoute it here: Then based on that I shouldn't really expect from SP to release something fetishy or with questionable content like JAST or MangaGamer would do. SP's partnership with Nutaku would be rather pointless then if they don't start to make a business of adult-oriented VNs (which is if I am not mistaken, the majority of Japanese VNs). On a plus-side, that means SP's major selling points would be story-oriented VNs, that could probably live without 18+ scenes (I don't know how Maitestu fares in the story department compared to the loli fetish it provides) and they can be easily sold on Steam ... And if they don't contain sensitive stuff that could be potentially problematic - get released on Nutaku and Denpasoft (by the way, I think Denpasoft will die after some time if most of SP's adult stuff gets sold through Nutaku) ... Though I think SP so far released all their titles with 18+ version, Grisaia (first part has a so-called unrated edition which is 18+, and the second part should get one too that isn't released yet) ... So even if they are not adult-oriented I do believe they try to release both versions of their VNs but have only recently caused some confusions with 18+ editions (I think that sometimes it even had to do with the original Japanese developers) ... All in all, I am rather curious on how things will progress from here on ...
