Clannad changed a lot for me. Not gonna lie. I never really was hung up on family ties before it, as most of my family didn't really get me. That aside, it was rough patch in my life where I needed something to pull me out, 'cause there was certainly no someONE's to do it. I was extremely depressed and isolated and honestly there was nobody around who could figure out why, least of all myself. So I guess I kinda just discovered Clannad one day and well... what resulted is who I am today. It broke down the emotional walls that I had built up for so long and helped me appreciate what I had so much more. You could say my entire emotional makeup was overhauled.
 
Also ezyo22, I wish you the best of luck in the future! Deserve it man.

Common people we all know that everyone who is yearning for pink will be bored with it in a couple of days.
 
Team Blue is the most reasonable choice. A shade of blue would fit pretty well with the image of fuwanovel. It won't be too far off from green either so it won't feel odd.

Anyway! Time for a feels trip to feel-ville. 
 
I am a bit of a self proclaimed Feels Masochist, so I actively search out things that will make me feel. The more feelsy the better. As such, you can imagine why things like Anohana and Clannad are held so highly by me.
 
Since I am on an eternal quest for the perfect feels, I want to see what scenes made you guys feel. So post some links to scenes that made you feel the feels.

You don't have to link it to a video either. It can just be a little thing saying what it is.

This will be very useful for potential VN developers! Maybe myself one day if I ever decide to jump on something.

Being the spokespeople for 2 visual novel releases coming soon, I want to thank these guys for doing what the do for the community.
 
We talk a lot about visual novel fan translation, but sometimes forget that Katawa Shoujo was what started it for about 95% of us. Thanks gentlemen, and keep up the good work on your games.

Don't be so quick to throw in the towel. This is a place where everyone should feel welcome to share their projects no matter what level they are currently at. It would be boring if everyone's writing was the same or everyone turned in stuff without any flaws. The whole point of the critique is help writers recognize where they're at and push them beyond their limits. As long as everyone puts in effort into their writing and rewrites then I see no reason why you should stop doing something you enjoy.

Well, I'm probably super late, but could just as well share anyway:

Here are a few extra pieces of advice for troubleshooting running VNs.
 
1. Always make certain you don't install in the two Programs folders in Windows.  Some VNs won't save or run (I won't go into details) if they are placed in these folders (or any other folder that requires admin access to change).
 
2.  Copying files directly from the disc doesn't always work (some VN companies use a sub-program that requires a registered install), so if it is possible  you should always use the installer.
 
3.  In the case of some VN downloads, the auto-play function is infected (it really is), so the simplest solution is to use windows explorer to directly access the discs' contents and activate the installer.

I might be crucified for saying this, but if you want the EX routes.. you could always watch the Little Busters EX OVAs instead. Of course, I would only suggest this if the translation dies of course.

? 'Dumbing down' is a very subjective term. I don't think the Vietnamese or the Koreans would appreciate it if it was said that they 'dumbed their languages down' by changing from Chinese characters. I don't know how many times I need to say this: ideographs and phonographs both have their pros and cons! I just personally think that phonographs are the superior writing system; and, as someone learning Japanese, would love to see Japanese switch to a fully phonetic writing system.
 
It's been tested and proven that children learn to write phonetically spelt languages like Spanish at a higher proficiancy years earlier than English or French. I can only imagine the disparity is even wider between Spanish and Chinese.
However, one advantage of Chinese characters is that the many dialects of Chinse all have the same written standard (except, I believe, Cantonese?). Though Shanghai and Beijing may have different pronunciations, they write the same word the same way. This means that the spoken language barrier can be crossed via writing.
 
Still there have been advocates for reform throughout the history of China and Japan. For example, there a divided reform activist community in 19th century Japan. Some wanted all-kana and some wanted romaji. These were fluent native speakers who saw the difficulties of learning an ideographic written language and decided that a phonographic system would benefit there own people. They were learned people who knew full well of there heritage, literature, etc.
 
A language that follows strict, simple rules and has perfectly phonetic writing is NOT a language without nuance, complexity, and beauty. If you don't believe me, read up on Esperanto.
