Popular/well-liked visual novels that you don't like/care for?
XReaper replied to NowItsAngeTime's topic in Visual Novel Talk
pigeon-blood(bl)/ subahibi/ nanarin -
also agree on most ones listed above. aside from those higanbana should help making you & your girlfriend have a good time. edit: regrettably the cast has no crab-hands in case you´ve been looking forward to it.

VN's that were way above ur expectations...
XReaper replied to Arkamondal's topic in Visual Novel Talk
good question, hmm what´s been wayyyyy above my expectations...guess there is not really one i can think of right now, simply because there arent that many which i started reading blind WITHOUT having been spoiled (thanks faggots) beforehand and that turned out the epitome of awesomeness in the end. nah screw that, i ´m going with 滅び朽ちる世界に追憶の花束を (https://t.co/pS8i8uMimt) here , just read it like a little while ago, never heard of it before (call me a retard, forwhy i deserve it) and the whole experience including everything literally blew my mind off like idk. seriously so. -
English version of ChuSinGura 46+1 released on Steam... for free?
XReaper replied to Decay's topic in Visual Novel Talk
if you read kelebeks comment above then it´s indeed at least partially heading towards said direction. -
a noble task, which i utterly failed to accomplish myself...

thanks to tyrosin (ill-willed) recommendation movie-wise i´m now mentally unable to proceed reading kagerou , so i switched over to fictional hero gin gaia instead. took me alittle for warming up to it, but now i´m having a blast.

Urotsukidouji Kickstarter launched
XReaper replied to john 'mr. customer' smith's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
pretty darn great that fakku decided on bringing all of maedas works over, incl. new material & everything uncensored. from what´s been mentioned in their forums alone urotsukidouji gains about xtra 40pages (if i recall correctly, no guaranties there). & the campaign is neccessary for them to gather the funds needed to hire an entire team to start working on everything for years. personally i fukking love maedas works to death & already gave it my everything to help them making it a reality. also that poster is freaking god-tier, just saying -
Nocturnal Illusion Renewal Translation Project
XReaper replied to Nandemonai's topic in Translation Projects
consider yourself a hero. that is all there is to say. -
yeah wish they would´ve decided on their olden style of art, cant bring myself to like the current one. not in the slightest, and some minor nuances apart, it simply does look like being the 101st title out of 100 churned out galge these days. farewell those "i expected feels of nostalgia" hopes i had for this one.

this, simply because if you happen to not fit into some specific target audience publishers are aiming at, then you´re basically destined to wait for your most beloved titles getting picked up until the day your balls start falling off. btw. ikusa zero has no valid translation available. there is none.

thought it was a good thing to bridge some time until the advent of purino party (yes, seriously so) , as well as waiting for the everlate postman-chan and therefore started reading 2 rather unknown ones, namely cyber-rebeat & kagerou, which stand in stark contrast to eachother plot- & theme-wise. regrettably i got hooked pretty badly on them so far. edit: going to have legit nightmares for sure

the only zigzag title that´s still worth a translation and which isnt already is kurai nichuyoubi, but that one is rather darn dark + also features the kind of content you want to avoid. some rather cool & good titles you should probably look into are: norukasoruka nagareochiru shirabe ni nosete or yami o hashiru yabai no kiramek sayonara, utsutsu. (though it´s no all ages) uhma o dakishimete pakorare (havent read that one myself, but some said it´s a nice read) mushi no me (abit longer, but a real good one for sure)

t-this.. must have somehow slipped my mind, i swear. *vows improvement

XReaper replied to Darklord Rooke's topic in Visual Novel Talk
almost the whole thing pretty much consists of high level prose only. -

masada trying himself at chuuni? how dare he... -
by the end nothing was worth nothing. sure it ends on a somewhat positive note in terms of those happenings wont continue anymore, but it´s meant to make you(reader) feel like nothing has been accomplished at all. this overall feeling of powerlessness/dread is further accumulated throughout the game as you are forced to make decisions that wont feel ethical in the slightest. edit. the feels you get are abit similar to the ones from shinigami no testaments routes, not coming to ethics & morals, but in therms of needed sacrifices.

XReaper replied to Darklord Rooke's topic in Visual Novel Talk
i didnt mean conjurer there. its about steiner, who´s currently working on 2different projects, one being a galge and the other one not (might be a jrpg or suchalike). therefore it´s not unlikely that he could have meant the latter one. -

pretty sure he´s currently doing 2 different projects, with one of them being galge & the other not, so there´s also a pretty high chance that it´s about the latter, but who knows -
What are you reading? Untranslated edition
XReaper replied to Funnerific's topic in Visual Novel Talk
@Chronopolis you might want to continue reading abit further into the story itself, so there´re some more significant impressions to share aside from its stunningly looking visuals, which are even now causing my hormons to run as wild as they possibly can. still not in the right mood of taking on any commercial/professional works yet, so the more awesome-ish doujinshi to explore, the better and that one in particular definitely got my expectations maxed out to the very fullest. btw. capital letters hail from evil itself. prosa oratio hails from evil itself. everyone should just go back to talking cryptically & in rhymes only edit: ahhh screw that, already fell victim to どげさ and reallife got messed up. -
• Nakamura Tetsuya • Ooishi Ryuuko • Maybe • Butcha-U • Colk Golem honorable mentions who also gave me an optical boner: Kome, Tajima Nao & Rin Shin

more like by the end of this novel he´s going to flip tables, smack nearby passengers, forcibly grope some butts etc etc out of anger for non having read it earlier. sure dengekistryker is not the worlds greatest galge, but still a massively underrated experience in itself.
