  1. I'm very late to make the tier for more than half a year, so let me try to make it even though there's no much interesting title compared to 2022. Good Yomegami Ixseal Yamizome Liberator Yeah I know two of those are more like nukige, but it is what it is, especially with Liberator in which I'd look forward to eventual English translation ever since I saw the announcement of it way back when Dohna Dohna is still not localized by Shiravune so there's no reason for JAST to rushed Revenger release. I also look forward to Ixseal eventual announcement, although I didn't really believe that it could be possible when I wrote the suggestion. For Yomegami, honestly the only Alcot VN that I think interesting beside Clover Day's (Which already released by Nekonyan) is Shogun-sama, but regardless good for JAST to get Yomegami and hopefully we'll see them get Shogun-sama license. Average Hana Awase Dead Days Mojika Djibril Sex Open Worlds Nekonin Spin Tsukihime Remake 1 Hana Awase may be interesting with card game and lengthy story even though it's otome VN. Both Sex Open Worlds and Nekonin Spin has good looking graphic, although the latter is definitely far below what Sekai used to announced in AX. Dead Days may have interesting writing beneath the disturbing contents, although it would be hard to recommend to anyone else. Mojika actually is like Kimikoi with the seemingly unrelated premise, but again it could be hard to recommend considering the layer of disturbing contents. Djibril is magical girl serial VN that Frontwing published, although like serial VN I prefer to wait until JAST (Or maybe Frontwing if they decided to change their mind) announce all of its parts. Tsukihime Remake is obviously interesting despite the blatant attempt of milking, although it only available for Switch and obviously redundant seeing there's fan patch (Then again, we may see eventual PC version just like Mahoyo). Take Your Time All BL announcements (Hell Academy, Paradise) sisters Shingun Goblin Shingun Goblin may have interesting premise, although I'm not particularly interested with it for now. For BL VNs that JAST worked hard to license, well I guess good to anyone who hope to see those two available in English. I only know sisters is the nukige with very good looking graphic, and at least it has 2D anime graphic. Long story short, I'll just pass all those title. That's all for my belated tier list, and hopefully we may see interesting announcements in next year AX.
  2. In the end, the word that say 'comedy is subjective' is always proven true no matter the circumstance. Anyway, one of the arguably strong example of Comedy VN would be Ren'ai Royale which coincidentally another VN from Sankaku Ren'ai (Sukiren) developer. For Royale itself, the staff put more focus on the jokes for the four main heroines while stacking the romance element on one side heroine, resulting some of the player declare the side route is the best simply it because has romance development more than the four main heroines. While it may caught off-guard some who expect usual romance from the Royale, once again the 'comedy is subjective' is still apply because Royale humor may be not the best even if one approach the VN with comedy in mind. There's also Yuzusoft VN in which while it not really full comedy VN, it still has the element 'comedy fatigue' across all of their VNs, with the joke is usually calling the MC virgin. Granted, the staff may have their own comedy taste with them indirectly calling out the player who play Yuzusoft VNs as virgin which may be work if the player took it as self-depreciating joke instead of being offended by it, but regardless the joke can still be quite tiresome, especially if one is not fond of the that kind of comedy in the first place (Moreso if someone has brilliant idea to play all translated Yuzusoft VNs (Up to 8 if Tenshi Reboot released later) in one sitting). I guess that's all for what I can say about comedy VNs here, and by the way so far I didn't recall the comedy VN similar to Lamunation (Although there's Gintama and 100 Girlfriends if one want anime example).
  3. Interesting to note Fall 2016 has quite a number of magical girl series here. Pop in Q - Toei 60th anniversary project with them make the movie revolving magical girl in another world, which in practice make it no much different compared to what they did every year until now (ie Precure). Apparently there's a plan to make the sequel looking from the ending, although so far there's no much info about it until now (Which may or may not because Toei decided that it's far more practical to keep making Precure anyway). Magical Girl Rising Project - Out of all magical girl, only two main casts (Koyuki and Kano) got the transformation scene. As for the series itself, well it's more like battle royale with the goal has one winner remaining, so it's natural to expect a number of battle scenes and people dying. While Madoka comparison is quite appropriate, with 16 characters and the mascot has color scheme like Monokuma, it would be appropriate to compare this with Danganronpa (Minus investigation and trial). Keijo - Honestly I'm kind of stunned when I see the manga of this, although from what I'd hear apparently they treat the sport seriously despite with the rule the player must use boob and butt to ring out enemy to the pool. Well, at least you'll definitely got the eye candy if you watch this, and of course all of the athletes here are female for obvious reasons. Flip Flappers - It's more like usual magical girl series instead of Madoka-like one. I didn't watch this yet, so I can only say that it's interesting the pair is switch their hair color whenever transformed, and the story has some plot twists. Izetta the Last Witch - The GL story between the titular last witch and the princess in the midst of not World War 2. Kuma no Miko - Late to comment on this. The series itself has the premise with the talking bear met a shrine maiden, although the series is more (in)famous thanks to the staff's creativity to make the original ending because the manga is still ongoing back then. The ending is very unpleasant so much so the author express the disappointment in the most polite way, and it definitely very different compared to the manga. Granted the staffs probably tried to give the conclusion to the series, but in the end the backlash is quite severe because of the choice. That's all for what I can write in regard of Fall 2016 anime here.
  4. Visual Novel Translation Status (10/12/2023) Because we have both Sona-Nyl and Fate/Extra CCC released with the latter opening song title is Sakura Labyrinth, I make the parody of it by changing 'Sakura' into 'Wisteria' with Wisteria is Sona-Nyl ending song title, so we have 'Wisteria Labyrinth' as the title. As for this week, first of all it has some new releases that people has been looking forward to, so theoretically this week should be interesting. That said, I'm not exactly looking forward into Fate/Extra CCC seeing that it's one of the spin-off (Read: milking) for Fate series, and turned out Sona-Nyl has the problem as the result of the porting. Other than the releases, we have Shiravune being active on this week again even with Amazing Grace release is delayed. Overall, this week is an average one to me, and let's see what I can write about it. After waiting for seven years ever since Mangagamer announced it, finally we have them released Sona-Nyl. The reason of why it took very long time to release is because they decided to go all out by combining the PC version and console version contents while also adapted additional webnovel into the VN. Unfortunately, there's some problem with the release, because Mangagamer did port this to the other engine and we know that any VNs that has porting work tend to be buggy. Problematic release aside, in Sona-Nyl we have two women, Elysia and Lily, stumbled upon 1907 New York with it is the Ground Zero for the disaster five years ago, and then both of them tried to survive the abandoned New York which turned out is infested with monster. Forgot to mention Sona-Nyl is part of Steampunk series, which mean the setting is the alternative New York with the underground realm that has eternal purple sky. Go get Sona-Nyl if you've been waiting for it, and have fun. This week we have Shiravune announced two new title, with one of those is the original Dungeon Travelers with the same gameplay as the sequel but instead the female are based on To Heart 2 heroines that Ittaku translated. No idea if we may see Shiravune get the license for To Heart 2 in the future or not, but I know that Shiravune will release Dungeon Travelers on next Valentine (February 14th later). The second announcement is a redundant NTR VN that has been available in English since 2021 with the fan translation, although in this case actually you'll do NTR in order to save the heroine who is the victim of domestic abuse. Said VN will be available sometimes on 2024 with Shiravune use the new translation. We also have Shiravune finally announced the new exact release date for Shukusei no Girlfriend, with the new date is on 14th later. Speaking of release date, turned out SukeraSomero has the plan to release their newest GL VN, Lip Trip, simultaneously in four languages (Japanese, Chinese, Korean and English), and said date will be on February 22nd later. In regard of Fate/Extra CCC, I only understand that it's the sequel of Fate/Extra with the gameplay is RPG instead of VN, and we have new story with the MC is basically self-insert with you can chose the gender just like in Pokemon. That, and Sakura play a big role in the game along with it's only for PSP and PSV. Well go try the game if you're being Fate franchise fan, and have fun. For the rest of fan translation updates, we have Kusarihime update with the current progress is 122 out of 253 script files are edited, ChuSingura s at 34.40% translated, Tsuma Netori is almost fully edited at 95% done, and Akagoei 3 is past three quarter (76.77%) translated. Turned out Sekai also has update for ReLord 3, and currently they're scheduling it so it may be their next release after Animal Trail 2. Last but not least, we have Nekonyan open the Steam store for Tenshi Reboot, and we also has the release month listed in there, which will be in next month (January 2024). That said, it may be just the placeholder for now, so keep in mind the release time may be change, especially with how long Valve review process can be. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  5. Well it's been seven years since I tried the translation and looks like the patch has already deleted, so there's no way to get the patch. That said if you're want Favorite VN, in the near future Nekonyan will release Irotoridori in English so perhaps you may try that later.
  6. Berserk 2016 - At least the story itself can make up for the infamy of the visual, which is the major disappointment for the fans. Then again if you can get past the art, I guess the 2016 Berserk is good on it's own. Mob 100 - Just want to mention that the original artist is the one who draw One Man Punch, so the MC has similar looks to Saitama. Danganronpa 3 - The epilogue of Danganronpa duology (V3 is the new continuation), and let's just say that it's quite divisive to the fans. New Game - CGDCT based on game company, although it also has serious plot about making the game. Koe no Katachi - What I can say that even the premise is quite dramatic, especially with the movie (And the manga) deal with the bullying of the deaf which is major concern in Japan, so it's quite inevitable there's some soap drama moments mixed in there, moreso in regard of the male MC who has the deep regret doing the bullying to her deaf female classmate. Kimi no Na Wa - As for why the audience like it, it would be simply because of the art thanks to Makoto Shinkai effort. That said even though usually Shinkai's work has bittersweet ending (Especially ef and eden if we count Shinkai work on the opening for those two VNs), at least this movie has relatively happy ending even after several dramatic moments. Amanchu - The first part has all female casts while the second season has additional male cast, and let's just say that the additional male cast along with the manga ending didn't bring good opinion to GL community. That aside, it has good scenery drawing, just like the previous author's work (Aria). Tales of Zetstria - I only knew that the lore of the game was expanded in Berseria (The prequel), and it has controversy with the initial heroine (Alisha) was turned out to be the only guest character (ie decoy heroine) with she was replaced after some times, which make sense the anime tried to fixed the issue by giving more spotlight to Alisha throughout the series. Fate Ilya 3 - Being Fate franchise it's inevitable that the author is required to write dark story with epic combat even though the series is just started as the magical girl parody featuring Ilya, and it really show in this season with alternative timeline stuff. Love Live Sunshine - It's about the nine student who live in countryside need to face their school is about to be closed down, and after see Muse (The name of the group from previous Love Live) manage to save the school they decided to do the same with they call themselves as Aquors. While at first people see Aquors under Muse's shadow, eventually Aquors manage to prove their own identity. It should be noted that compared to Muse, Aquours is still around with they recently have the anime about one of it's member (Yohane) in alternative world with Muse themselves was disbanded in 2016. That's all for what I can comment in regard of Summer 2016 release.
  7. It's been a while since I post the update, although I'm very late to post it on this thread because it already available for few days. Anyway, as for the current progress Yuzuki's route has been finished it's QA work, which mean all of Ginharu has been done with QA work. It's still not done yet though, because there's remaining progress that Daybreak currently working on, namely preparing for the final build which involving fixing the remaining bugs (Line breaks and date system) before finally release Yuzuki's patch. That's all for the update, and I hope the next update is in regard of Yuzuki's patch release even though it's still up in the air because the circumstance can be change.
  8. Visual Novel Translation Status (03/12/2023) Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for the title since we have Mamiya Mami I decided to make reference to Uchikano (Another trilogy from Moonstone) by adding 'succubus' from 'Succubus Session' (The English name of trilogy with Mamiya Mami is the first part) in Uchikano English title, so we have 'Uchikano: Living with the Succubus' as the title, which to say is still fitting to a degree seeing the MC and Mami live in the dormitory. Anyway as for this week, the interesting news are come from Shiravune with the most , release is Mamiya Mami. Other than that, there's also some updates from Daybreak and also Kiminozo Remake release plan. Overall, I guess this week is a an average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Cherry Kiss did release their nukige, and for the premise it's about the MC who was sent to another world with his overpowered ability is only to make magical item, which is very useless in battle for the obvious reason. Obviously not cut out for the battle, the MC decided to make full use of his ability, although rather than making very useful item for the adventurers and the people in the other world, the MC instead make sex magical toys and make full use of it (Well it's nukige after all). Go get the VN if you want more short isekai nukige, and have fun. We also have Bakarina Pirate in which it's only available on Switch, and once again there's no GL route in case you're really hoping on it because the staffs decided to make it as full otome VN. Anyway the premise is about Bakarina who is lucky to avoid bad ending go into a cruise, and unfortunately she suddenly need to face new storyline that may give her the dreaded bad ending, so she decided to do her best to navigate the story while unknowingly attracted the new heroes at it. Go get Bakarina Pirate if you want more of her and have Switch, and have fun. There's a fan who decided to translate a nukige called Oku-sama wa Moto Yariman 2022, although I didn't interested with it so I'll pass (Congratulation on the release though). We also have Tsuma Netori is at 85% edited and ChuSigura is at 33.88% translated. For Daybreak Translation, the most obvious update is obvious Akagoei 3 regular updates, in which currently it's at 72.63% translated. We also finally had Akagoei 2 progress resuming, with the current progress is at 60.92% in QA. Lastly, we have Ginharu update in which currently has Yuzuki's route finished its QA work, so currently the team preparing the final build while resolving the remaining problem (Date system bugs and linebreak problem) before finally manage to finally release Yuzuki's patch. Unfortunately Amazing Grace release was delayed for some reason, which if we knew on how Usonatsu face the delay related to Steam it may be the same case. As for the new estimation release, it'll be in Q2 of 2024 (Between April to June later) although it's more likely a placeholder so we may see the release before June 30th. Speaking of release estimation, Shiravune just announce they'll release Nukitashi 2 in Q1 of 2024 (Between January to March), and they already open the Steam store for it. After several delay, we finally have the first part of Succubus Session Mamiya Mami release. I did mention that it's similar to Uchikano trilogy, although Succubus Session trilogy is like serial VN instead of alternative continuity like in Uchikano. For the whole trilogy, it's about the unlucky MC who has been picked to become the single male in order to allow succubus give birth, so naturally there'll be many sex, which in the first part will be with Mami. Shiravune also accidentally leaked they'll localize the second part, so we may have them reveal it in the future. Go get Mamiya Mami if you want succubus nukige with good looking graphic, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  9. Little Princess Go premise looks like Amagi Brilliant Park, Amairo Chocolata 3 is shorter than Amairo Chocolata 2, and Geminism apparently has interesting narration that beneath the disturbing element (I only care that turned out it didn't have English simultaneous release). So yeah, the only choice for VN of the Month in November 2023 is Hirahira Hihiru, which is very underrated even though it has simultaneous release, and to be frank I pay attention to more known Lupercalia full translation patch when it was released. That's all for my comment in regard of November 2023 release here.
  10. Madoka Rebellion - Let's just say that the higher up (Not Urobochi ironically, but rather the director with Urobochi himself want to write more conclusive ending) are obviously not satisfied with the money that Madoka franchise gathered. So the director like Kyubei in the movie decided to make the sequel which pretty much messed up the ending that the heroines are already achieved, with the end result is it has divisive ending to ensure future milking of Madoka is guaranteed because the fans obviously want to see more of it. Of course, they indeed making another movie in order to milk even more money from the fans resolve the plot thread in the ending, with the movie name is Walpurgisnatch Rising that just recently revealed. Boku no Hero Academia - Honestly the premise is pretty much like the parody of Western superhero comic book with the characters is like the parody of the Western superhero characters, but in the end at least it prove to be quite popular to a degree. Of course though the fans are probably more interested with the fighting even though the story is also quite interesting to a degree, and the popularity might be because two of big three shounen series (Bleach and Naruto) are already ended with the closest one that can fill the gap is Boku no Hero Academia. By the way currently the manga is in the final arc, so you may start to read the manga if you somehow interested with this. ReZero - It's about the MC who dead after being stabbed in the front of convenience store only to be reincarnated with time loop ability. While the ability is sounds awesome in paper, unfortunately the MC (Subaru) start out weak in another world unlike several other isekai MC who start very strong, so in order to make full use of his ability Subaru need to work very hard, which involving dying again and again. Another thing that I can recall is the blue haired maid (Rem) is very popular and it has VN being translated. Jojo 4 - After had other countries setting, the author decided to move into Japanese setting with it is based on the author's hometown. Of course there's always adventure in the story, especially with the first villain is the a serial murderer. The MC background here is more or less quite complicated, so obviously the fans make meme out of it along with several other things. Sakamoto - It's about the MC who voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru always find himself to do anything in cool manner, and thus the reason why I call anyone who is voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru as cool character lol. Anyway, just enjoy how cool Sakamoto is if you want to watch the anime, and also my condolence to the late author who passed away in this year. Phoenix Wright - I only mention this because the initial sub has Japanese name which obviously would be very confusing despite that it make sense on the setting, although thankfully the revised sub and dub use the English name that the player familiar with (The translator even think of the English name for anime character only). Other than that, well I guess the anime is quite faithful, although it can't beat the VN. Sailor Moon Crystal 3 - Toei did improve the animation on this, so much that Precure fans accuse Toei didn't pay attention much to MGPC animation. For the third series of the remake, Sailor Moon Crystal re-introduce the famous GL couple Haruka x Michiru, and it should be obvious they're no longer introduced as cousin like in Sailor Moon 1994 dub version. Aikatsu Stars - Looks like the franchise popularity is started going down in 2016, so the staff decided to make new MC on top making the story being more dramatic along with introducing handsome idol, which may be inspired from Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Life. That's all for my comment in regard of Spring 2016 anime (Madoka Rebellion aside) here.
  11. Welcome to Fuwanovel and sorry for the belated greeting @ReneG. No much to say here other than I hope you'll have fun in here and also good luck on your project.
  12. Visual Novel Translation Status (26/11/2023) For this week, since we have Eustia leaked with the titular character was voiced by Nanjou Yoshino, I figure may as well make a reference of her second song in Stella Glow, Levia, by parodying Lupercalia full title, Meikei no Lupercalia, so I change 'Lupercalia' into 'Leviathan' with Levia is what I assume as the short for Leviathan, so we have 'Meikei no Leviathan' as the title. Anyway, this week biggest news is obviously Eustia's fully translated patch being leaked, although by fully translated I mean the patch still has no additional works done on it. Other than Eustia's leak, we have Mamiya sequel release along with two announcements which to say are not as interesting as Eustia leak. Overall, I guess this week is another almost interesting one like last week, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Currently we have Kiminozo Remake was fully funded, and the plan is to have Japanese version available in Spring 2024 later, which if we follow the anime schedule it will be between April to June. age also planned to add English version at the later date on the download version. Other than the release plan, age also mention that they'll cut the two ending that has come from their wild imagination in 2000's and cut one of the route for the English version, which to say may be able to gather some controversy had the route remained in English version. Then again, age probably need to preparing the Steam review with Valve can hand the ban randomly even though the publisher tried their best to fulfill Valve's term. Anyway as for what I can say, well good for Kiminozo fan now that they almost have their favorite VN in English even though WA2 which has similar premise is already available in English. Oh yes, turned out that we just assume that Craftwork will do English and Chinese simultaneous release for Geminism, because the VN itself didn't have both languages support yet, so yeah for now it's only available in Japanese. Aniplex did list June 30th for Tsukihime Remake exact release date, although that date is obviously placeholder so that date might be the deadline to deliver the release, which mean it's quite likely we'll see Tsukihime Remake release within first half of 2024. Speaking of release estimation, we have Aksys announced they'll release Tengoku Struggle on April 2024 later. Cherry Kiss announced yet another small nukige, and this time the nukige has the title Manwhore Merchant: Breeding in Bulk with them will release it on 30th later. For Mamiya Doomsday Dream, from what I understand it's about a group on man who is live in Tokyo post apocalypse, and Doomsday here is supposed to resolve the cliffhanger from the prequel. Well go get Mamiya sequel if you want to play its conclusion, and have fun. Shiravune announced their new license, although it's a nukige with the title Holy Slave Academy. The premise of the VN is we have the MC who is work as the teacher in a school to train the sex slave, which was made in order to allow the noble to have six sex slave. The MC here is not quite interested to just become the teacher in the academy, but instead he's far more interested to gaining high position in society so he'll do his best to train six heroines (After finding their weakness) and then exchange them to the very powerful noble. Note that this nukige is from 2006, so you may feel nostalgic after looking its art. Oh yes, Shiravune announce the release date estimation, and it'll be on Q1 of 2024 (Between January to March). Sekai also announce the release date, with they announce the exact release date for two of their VNs, Gakkou no Seiiki (December 15th) and Animal Trails 2 (December 18th), and I can only say that good for them to have less two backlog. I knew a fan tried to translate PC98 version of Shizuku with Shizuku itself is very famous VN which establish denpa genre, although like Tsui no Sora Remake I'll just wait until significant progress. Speaking of Tsui no Sora Remake, the team has another update with the current update is at 79% translated along with past three quarter (76%) edited, and more importantly Yasuko's chapter has been fully translated and edited. For other fan translation updates, we have Tsuma Netori is fully translated along with three quarter edited, and Akagoei 3 is at 67.8% translated. Lastly, there's the aforementioned Eustia fully translated patch leak, and I said fully translated because it's what really is (As in only fully translated but still unedited and TLC-ed). While at first I think it's fine to just treat it as completed, turned out there are still few issues left in the leaked patch, such as line break, some audio issues, and more importantly untranslated line (Only 2 out of ~65,500 lines though). That said, if you already want to play Eustia ever since Taka-jun translated the trial 12 years ago and had the patience wearing thin after very long wait, then feel free to play with the leaked patch and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  13. While HCPC did have perfume, it didn't have Tsubomi encounter a boy in her childhood. Instead, the more obvious answer here should be Go Princess Precure (GPPC) with the premise is exactly what the OP stated; main character (Haruharu) meet a boy (Kanata) when she is little girl and he give her a perfume (Actually Princess Key) and when she is older, she transform using perfume and meet 2 other girls (Minamin and Kirara) who can transform. I hope that I can answer the OP question here.
  14. How should I put it here? Well, let's just say that technically speaking any translator can have the rest whenever they want and there's a lot of very understandable reasons to do that. Also it would be like rambling if I keep writing about my complicated feeling on this here, so let's just let it go then.
  15. Actually it's good to see that Akai Ito is finally have translation and available in PC to boot, seeing that there's only PS2 version in the past with the translation of it is incomplete. However, it's too bad that Success didn't put much effort to make sure that the VN is good to play to everyone else, because they probably only do the test on their 1080 inch monitor and then have some after work drink or whatever they did after the job done. The reason is because they didn't check in lesser monitor to make sure it can displayed properly, seeing that my laptop which only has 768 inch had the game zoomed in with the text being unreadable, which is pretty much amateur mistake. That technical disaster aside, they also do the good job on reducing Aoishiro to around 2 GB HDD with fan translation version has 7 GB HDD. It's just too bad that the achievement was marred with the screen problem, although Aoishiro zoom is not as bad as Akai Ito. For the translation, well at least you can read it with the available fan translation although Akai Ito fan patch only translate majority of the VN. My rant on the technical aside, I can say that Akai Ito (And Aoishiro) is good GL VN with routes, and it's too bad that nowadays it's rare to see GL VN with routes.
  16. Honestly I think it's okay for the translator to take a rest seeing that the leak is basically already fully translated (And yes I checked all side stories to make sure that it's fully in English because Ange had doubt on it), but if the translator himself saying that he still want to keep working on Eustia then so be it (Although it leave me with complicated feeling). Well, good luck on the remaining work to the translator then.
  17. I feel like that you just blindly trust his word about it have some words being untranslated, where in fact it's really really REALLY has been fully translated (Including the extra chapter that Ange has been worried about). I also dare to say that rather than trust other people when it come of some parts has not been reading well based on what people said, it would be better to read it and then make the judgement by yourself, because you may surprisingly can read the text smoothly despite the so-called warning. As for the leak, if it make the translator been more motivated to work on Eustia's chapter quicker than he usually does then I'm for it. But if not (And doubly so considering the translator himself may not have enough time to do remaining QC work even though it's only less than half of Eustia's chapter), then the only way to read Eustia full translation in English is through the leaked fully translation patch here. All in all, while I can see some stubbornly want to keep waiting until the translator finished with his QC work, at least now you can finally read Eustia if you've been understandably impatient with the lack of the updates nowadays.
  18. Visual Novel Translation Status (19/11/2023) Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for the title because both Nine and Criminal Border have same writer and director, I made parody of Nine title by adding 'Liminal' from Liminal Border (Criminal Border English title), so we have 'Liminal Nine' as the title. Also I made the subtitle for each part heroine just like Nine, and the heroine for the first part of Criminal Border is Hina Yorozuya, hence the subtitle. As for this week, the biggest release is obviously Lupercalia following with Hira Hira Hihiru and Criminal Border first part. Other than those three, we also got several other release, but to me those releases are not as interesting as Lupercalia, although some may be think Hirahira Hihiru is a nice VN. Overall this week is almost interesting one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Sekai just released Anima Trail FD, and I can only say that it should be good if you want more good looking magical girls heroines that can turn into the animal tried to do their best in their idol job (At least it's good to see that Sekai backlog decreasing again). age released Muv Luv Teito Muyo, and I only know that it's the prequel of Muv Luv Total Eclipse. That, and also the translator is Daybreak translator who at first got his Schwarzesmarken (Another MLA side story) project was C&D-ed by age, so good for the translator he got the chance to officially translate one of age VN. For Hira Hira Hihiru, once again it's about Japan in Taisho era suffer a disease that caused people to become zombie. Apparently the reception is quite good, so feel free to try if you're interested. We have two new VN from the new publisher, and the first one is Knight Case File with the premise is about the male knight who was tasked to investigate the circumstance involving a female alchemist and fake duke daughter. No much info I can dig other than it'll be available on January 2024 later. The second one is Shinjuku Soumei in that we have known name working on it, Kataoka Tomo (Narcissu's writer) and Sumeragi Kohaku (Nanairo Reincarnation's artist). The premise is about the MC who can hear voice of the dead because he store his soul somewhere else had done his job, namely do the dangerous funeral, which obviously mean it'll have supernatural element. In case you want to play it, you may wait until the release on February 2024 later. In case you've been waiting for new GL VN from sprite (Everlasting Flowers), it's mentioned that it'll be released on June 27th later so you can note the date if you want to play it later. Actually besides released Criminal Border, Shiravune also announced their new license, although it's not what people look forward into much. Said new license is Kagura Genesis Kuon Story, in which it's the VN from Debo no Su with them usually have the shrine maiden MC fighting the monster with the penalty is that the MC will be raped if she lost, and looking from Kuon it seems no much difference from their usual series. By the way it's still in developed, so if you're looking forward to it you can wait until the release date which will be on January 26th later. For Criminal Border itself, it's about out MC Itsuki who spent his time to make MAD (The name of AMV in Japan). One day Itsuki somehow make a AMV that can aroused anyone else who watch it, and he decided to show it to his childhood friend Rin. Little did Itsuki know back then that Rin has brilliant idea to sell it in the underworld, and Itsuki slowly but surely dragged into the criminal world. For the info, I still say that you may need to get used to the art, especially if you've been getting used to usual Purple Software art. Anyway go get first part of Criminal Border if you're interested, and have fun. We also have two fan translation releases beside Lupercalia, although both are just either small VN that was released by Shinzou Translation (Rinkaiten no Azrael) or nukige (Oku-sama wa Moto Yariten), so both are overshadowed by Lupercalia (Feel free to try though if you're interested). For the rest of the update, we have Akagoei 3 is at 66.13% translated, ChuSingura is at 33.5% translated, Tsui no Sora Remake is past three quarter (76%) translated along with 63% edited, Tsuma Netori is almost fully translated at 95% translated, and Sora's route of Yosuga no Sora is fully edited with overall is at 64% edited. Almost forgot to mention that Nekonyan actually has been working on Tenshi Reboot ever since it was announced, and now we have it in QA alongside Irotoridori, which mean that all of the translation and editing work should already be at 100%. Speaking of working on, turned out that in 10 months the translator of Lupercalia has been busy with juggling time left him exhausted from the hard work, especially when he's been working on Lupercalia by himself (Which explain that some of the translation can be quite rough for some people). Anyway as for Lupercalia itself, it's about the MC Tamaki who initially scouted by a theater group to do some acting. Although with he has some trauma with acting, he decided to take the job of directing and at least he manage to show his capability on that. It should be mentioned that since this is a VN about theater naturally there are some dramatic scene, and thus the characters did have their own skeleton in the closet. Lupercalia here is one of well received VN from 2021, so if you're interested and didn't mind the dramatic scene (Enhanced by the voice act directing that can be quite impactful) then feel free to try it and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  19. Welcome to Fuwanovel, and I see that you like RWBY there (There's anime adaptation of it, although it seems to be not as well received as the original). No much to say other than I hope that you'll have fun in here, and also good luck to your project.
  20. Konosuba - It's about Kazuma who has undignified death transported into another world and then pick the goddess Aqua who make fun of him as the cheat item, except turned out Aqua is quite useless in another world. After that Kazuma pick the other two party members who are quite useless in their own right, and then they started some misadventure in the world. Well it's pretty obvious what the audience should expect when it come to this, although it also has some serious moment to take a break from the comedy. Aokana - Looks like even the anime staff didn't like Masaya so much so his role is demoted and decided to give the MC role to Asuka, so perhaps the staffs may think that it would be better to make Aokana anime like shonen with one of the trope is Underdog Never Lose instead of making the story about Masaya try to rebound himself. All in all, it's pretty clear that the treatment between Masaya and Takahiro (From Walkure Romanze) in the anime adaptation are very much different with Takahiro still has the role as the MC despite both have same circumstance. Schwarzesmarken - It has Muv Luv Alternative setting with the premise is about another group who fought BETA. What I know other than that is the translator of Daybreak tried to translate this only to got the project was C&D-ed by age, although at least he manage to working on age VN officially with said VN that he worked on is recently released Teito Muyo. Also this and Total Eclipse are ironically have better rating in MAL compared to MLA anime, although age may not fortunate enough to got famous studio to working on MLA anime. Pandora in the Shell - Let's just say that this anime is far more lighter compared to original Ghost in the Shell while have some GL element, which shown from the graphic alone. Other than GL element, what I can recall is that the final boss himself is become Butt Monkey in the final episode thanks to several ridiculous events despite several episode beforehand shown on how threatening he is. MGPC - After GPPC, obviously Precure fans did expect a lot of action in MGPC despite that Precure here is supposed to be magician, only to find themselves disappointed with the actions are not as intense as GPPC. For the story itself, it's about Mirai who become Precure together with Liko who is from Magic World, and compared to previous Precure series MGPC did featured both world equally (Screen time wise). Oh yes, all of the casts will become Precure (Including the mascots), although unlike HSPC Mofurun can only become Precure in the movie. By the way it should be noted that it has interesting writing, although it may need some more observation to make people understand the writing itself. That's all for what I can write in regard of Winter 2016 anime here.
  21. One Punch Man - It's obviously about the MC who can handle everything else with one punch as the result of overtraining so much he become bored for the lack of challenge, and obviously it didn't stop several enemies to wreck havoc in the setting only for them to face the inevitable defeat by the MC himself. Madhouse did good job on the animation, and they recently prove that they still be able to do so with Frieren despite some scandal in 2019. Noragami Aragato - I only know that one of the OST for this anime had adhan which is very sensitive issue for Muslim seeing that it's their call of prayer, and the staffs decided to withdraw the song. Other than that, well no much to say here. Rakudai - It's about Stella who gradually warmed up to the MC (Ikki) after Ikki soundly beat Stella in their first battle, and of course they quickly become the couple as soon as Volume 1 ending with the novel reached up to 19 volumes. While this is very remarkable seeing that the relationship is happen quicker compared to even SAO, my comment is goes on how the author initially had bad fortune with Sol Press initially has its license with them quickly prove they didn't have enough business knowledge, and thus they can only licensed five volumes. Fortunately though, just today the novel has new publisher (J-Novel Club), so at least we can see the continuation of the novel in English. Gochiusa 2 - It's more or less the same as the first season, which mean more CGDCT from the casts. I did watch this weekly back in 2015, so I can say that it felt nostalgic to me in here. By the way, I prefer the sequel opening compared to the prequel one. Utwawarerumono 2 - I suppose it's quite faithful to the VN to a degree, although the first half is obviously has slice of life which is justified seeing that the casts live in Yamato which is already established as very prosperous country. Of course though, soon enough the casts will be involved in the war and intrigue like in the first VN, and the casts need to deal with the downer ending that will be addressed in the sequel later. For additional note, Aquaplus here did use the opening of Utwawarerumono 2 as the insert song for Utawarerumono 3 VN in one of the scene. Kindaichi R2 - The continuation of Kindaichi R, and the last anime adaptation of Kindaichi (For now). In season 2 here, obviously Kindaichi still need to use his intelligent to solve they mystery that revolving around serial murder case, although in here Kindaichi also need to facing his nemesis (Takato) for the first half of the series. Oh yes, the fist four episodes of R2 actually did adapt the last case of original Kindaichi manga, which mean in here it's merely just one of the case that Kindaichi solve. Hidan no Aria AA - It's like Railgun, although the MC here is not the main heroine of the main series (Aria), but instead a girl (Akari) who very much idolize Aria so much that she wish Aria would pay attention to her or something like that. Unfortunately for Akari though, Aria has far more interested to have romantic relationship with very blatant author self insert main series male MC Kinji, so Akari has no chance with Aria despite that Akari herself only has eyes for Aria. That's all for what I can comment in regard of Fall 2015 anime here.
  22. Well good story is quite subjective, although if you want more KEY VN perhaps I could add Summer Pocket in here in case you're still not playing it (I recommend Reflection Blue version for more route, and both are translated anyway). If you want to look for something more, perhaps you can try Inochi no Spare (No happy ending though), Snow (2001 VN that was inspired by Kanon and Air), and Tamayura Mirai (It has supernatural element with the MC is a sorcerer). I hope that my recommendations here will be helpful to you.
  23. It's not like I'm alone here anyway seeing that I see several people wish it to be localized, and one of the main reason is because of Tsubasu's art. So yeah, you're not alone when it come to wishing see Mashimaro being localized. Anyway, here's the Steam store link to the newest Shiravune game if you're interested, although personally I think it's not their interesting title.
  24. Well, it's pretty clear from how Shiravune just blatantly use the CG from the game instead of vague hint and that CG is not from Mashiro Iro, which is still too bad that it's not Shiravune's announcement. That said, at least Shiravune make better publisher for Debonosu VNs compared to when they localized Sorakumo by themselves, especially because they removed the sex scenes in Sorakumo. Though whether I look forward to the release or not is another matter.
  25. I see that you already finished with Sora's route editing, so congratulation in regard of it. Also good that you finally manage to translate the interface after all, which of course should be very helpful to the newer player. No much to say other than good luck on polishing the remaining two routes on Yosuga no Sora, and of course I still look forward to the eventual full translation patch release even though the available patch is technically speaking already fully translate the VN itself (Rough translation on the unedited routes aside).
